@MrRamsay8 you play as Big Boss or 'Naked Snake' in this one- as it is set in the 1960's, the snake you play as in Mgs1, Mgs2 and Mgs4 is Solid Snake (later referred to as Old snake). Solid snake is a clone of Big Boss.

@MrRamsay8 solid snake killed Big boss in metal gear 2:Solid Snake (not to be confused with metal gear SOLID 2: sons of liberty), but anyway i think he killed Big Boss because although he was once Solid snake's commanding officer he ''betrays'' snake, or rather shows his true colour toward the end of metal gear and tells snake to abort mission. But anyway all you really need to know is that snake and big boss have got some bad blood between them

That being said there are allot of other Outer Heavens about in the mgs universe.
