This is one reason why the rich deserve higher taxes, ie they recieve more police & military protection. In a poor to middle class neighborhood you have a few police for thousands of people. At this event, a Free Trade conference, there are hundreds of police primarily for the benefit of the conference. In general it costs alot more to protect the property of the wealthy. Sometimes the rich also hire private security but the police and military are still available for them.

I have been ticketed for going 8 miles an hour over the speed limit on christmas day. I have been pulled over for honking my horn (seriously). This is one reason why the rich deserve higher taxes, ie they recieve more police & military protection. In a poor to middle class neighborhood you have a few police for thousands of people. At this event, a Free Trade conference, there are hundreds of police primarily for the benefit of the conference. In general it costs alot more to protect the property of the wealthy. Sometimes the rich also hire private security but the police and military are still available for them.
