Why should they speak English when they are in France?? Even if the auditorium understands English, they have the right to speak French. As it's France and not the USA or Great Britain. Some comments just make me laugh. I'm Russian, for example, and often watch American channels. So are they obliged to submit Russian subtitles just because some Russian people watch it?? Ridiculous))
1) TV Shows in France are particularly adapted to blind people, who are numerous in the country. Blame the blind, you seem to be worth doing that.
2) People say "I'm just saying for those of us that speak English they could have some subtitles etc.". Yeah, but remember that this moment is NOT supposed to be for those who speak English. This part of the news was NOT supposed for anyone else than the French people who were in front of their TV at this hour.
@Axatar I'm just saying for those of us that speak English they could have some subtitles in English so we can at least know what they are saying. It's so hard to listen to someone speak but have someone speak over them. It's so confusing.
@LijaaX Yes I'm from the US. If a person who doesn't speak English is being interviewed they usually have the interpreter next to them and they allow them to speak in whatever language they speak and then the translator translates it to us.
@Lyly832 How is my comment pathetic? You can't honestly say that translating audio because people are to fucking stupid to understand more than one language or read subtitles isn't pathetic. Please explain to me your thoughts behind your comment.
@swedishguy83 I don't wanna make a polemic about what you said. I totally understand your feelings about the French that don't speak English. Indeed, as a French, I'm pretty ashamed of my country for that. You have to know that our language educational system sucks, you can't imagine, even for our mother tongue. Nevertheless, as @Lyly832 said, this video was in live, if you're able to subtitle in live in Sweden, just tell me how you do it. Don't judge our people just because of that,
@LijaaX They are entitled to their opinion just aswell as you and I are. What I don't understand is why I would be pathetic for wanting people to be more educated. I can agree that my choice of words might be found a bit offensive at times but in whole I still think that what I said is correct. There is a lot that gets lost in translation regardless of the language and it's very sad because a lot of the time it's some vital part of the initial message.
@swedishguy83 You know when I came to Sweden, I met some people wo didn't speak English, there's non english people everywhere. That's true that a lot of French people refuse to learn English, but as I speak currently English, a lot of companies want to hire me, so that's a good thing for me ^^
@LijaaX Ofcourse, there's always going to be a small percentage of people not interested in doing the work necessary but I don't we why the rest of us have to cater to their needs when they are just slowing the rest of us down. I think that is great! Not only are you more competitive on the job market you can also experience more of the world in terms of music and culture. Merry Christmas to you btw!
@swedishguy83 You're totally right. Indeed, while I was studying abroad, I had to translate some courses and other stuffs to others French students, I was checking all the other nationalities, everyone could speak English very well except for the French (even the Spanish and the Italians were much better...) lol. Anyway, our educational system has to change (no really I'm not kidding, this system really sucks, I'm wondering why the people didn't find out why there's a problem). Merry Christmas!

@olexia07 Are you from an English speaking country? On your homes' Tvs, when a foreigner's interviewed, there's an interpreter as well...

its a bit pathetic that they still have to translate english to french in 2010 in order for french people to understand.
swedishguy83 1 year ago
@swedishguy83 And it's disrespectful. Much better to to use subtitles if its needed.
