I kinda wish JD didn't hug Dr Cox at the end of the episode, he made it really clear that it's just not him. It would've been a much nicer moment if JD'd just walked away after hearing how Cox really felt, but they had to crowbar in a couple more jokes. That's what killed the show in the first place.

The only reason I think Dr. Cox wouldn't give a proper goodbye is that in the episode before he lets on to Elliot that he doesn't want J.D to leave. So saying goodbye to J.D here would just make it all too real for him. It's kinda cute when you think about it :)

One of the greatest character relationships I have ever seen. Sadly, I don't think Bill Lawrence will ever be able to top the dynamic that JD and Dr. Cox had. These two actors take the written word off the page and make it seem natural. My room mate said that he felt like some part of our life was gone, and I agree, thought I will watch scrubs "2.0" as I have seen it called. Cox alone is worth the price of admission...

Scrubs "2.0" will have Cox and Turk teaching at a Medical School. The Sacred Heart set has been rebuilt on the campus. Google Scrubs "2.0" or scrubs ninth season for more info...There are a few good interviews that has Bill Lawrence discussing the show. He wanted to call it Scrubs Meds, but ABC wouldn't go for it. Characters like the Janitor and Kelso are gone, but JD and Elliot and Ted and the Todd will make quest appearances throughout this next season.

Haven't found anything that says the show has been axed. That said, I feel that the strongest aspect this new season is Drew and Denise. Cole seems to try to hard, and JD is, sadly, very oddly placed in this new setup. I hope cox gets rejuvenated...Love that they have thrown The Todd in the mix, and enjoy seeing Beardface in the background. I can take or leave this season. Love how the Janitor leaves...
