  • that rap makes the video even harder

  • Comment removed

  • The nigga song ruined it

  • good on you for showing subz as well not just throws

  • VEAN EL VIDEO "MUNDIAL 2010 JUDO" INSPIRADOR

  • Judo is the only real-life martial sport that looks as good as those kung fu action movies

  • music's name please

  • @StigGuy Limp Bizkit - My Way

  • @FighterBrutal ok thx :)

  • Yeah Judo is a life style!!!!!

  • 3:06 is flawless

  • i dont fully understand the rules of judo, when is it necesary for submissions?

  • @rockstr56 When you do not get ippon on the throw or the point from the throw.

  • @rockstr56 an ippon is one point, and when you throw your partner flat on there, ippon its over. They land on their side (or just not a clean throw) you go into ground work. This is my own opinion but i just do judo and i find jiu jitsu tournaments more entertaining for the fact there is more ground work and less stupid rules to worry about.

  • @whatsflawless flat on there back xD

  • what's the song at 4:40???

    very massive video!!

  • Judo is good but I am a Shorin Ryu Karate Practitioner all Japanese and Okinawana are the best Martial Arts

  • 0:06 lol that guy in blue GI is gay

  • Can't wait for college so I can start judo, god damn. Also, anyone know what version of dead wrong this is? Sounds different than the original.

  • ROFL i did not expect to hear this song on a judo video!

  • The first song is " Limp Bizkit - My Way " enjoy.

    BRZ

  • what songs are on here?

  • 3.06

  • this alongside of greco roman is truly a spectacle to watch

  • Im curious do the throws in judo work on someone who's say quite abit heavier than you ie a big fat git?lol

  • As a judoka myself I can say it actually can help sometimes if a person is heavier aka "a big fat git" lol good choice of words ^^ though it really depends on what kind of throw your using. A forward throw like seoi-nage is gonna be a lot easier then a backwards throw like osoto-gari, though executed correctly, unless theres a HUGE difference in weight, say 98lb to 250lb it really shouldn't matter at all ^^

  • @SourIsaac well it depends the rules, but yeah i generally dont like wrestling styles because of that particular reason, you cant punch or kick so the person whos bigger generally wins because of a weight advantage

  • @BoxingBadBoy77 The answer is ... the heavier they are they harder they fall. Just dont get into ground work with them ... and try not to go the sacrificial route with a two ton tessie. You might fail.

  • @101HappyPlace aye you are right im 120 kg and had done freestyle wrestling before i did judo for 5 years so i had (dare i say) good balance and ive actually trained to let my self fall the instant i see someone doing any sacrifice throw usually ends up with me failling on them which they dont like

  • terrible choice of music

  • dead wrong remix ?

what's the name of the song?

  • man, this is cool sport.. i do bjj and i love the standup in it. does the throw in 0:51 have a name, or did the guy just wing it ?

  • @BeeefMaster it dose have a name its a variation to a throw i cant really recall the name at the moment if i remember i will tell you i just got done with a judo work out and im kinda brain dead being the instructors son lol

  • if you match this JUDO with any martial arts that are focused in striking, then you should be undefeatable in street fighting of mma...

  • i don't even know how to determine who win the match, is it like, the first athlete who touches the ground loses???

  • @obetloa.. Im not exactly sure of international rules but when I competed you won a fight by either throwing your opponent flat on their back with force, by submission or by holding your opponent down on their back for 20 seconds. Also, if you throw your opponent on their side with reasonable force you can gain a half point, and 2 half points equal a full point which is a win. You can also get quarter point and no point throws which cannot win a fight.

  • @greenlablz time for a win with a hold down depends if you're on top or bottom. If you're on top it's about half an hour, if you're on bottom it's about 4 seconds. At least it feels that way.

It's actually currently 25 seconds, used to be 30... or so I've been told (don't believe them, see above!)

  • BJJ+Judo=unbeatable

  • love judo its just crap too see theres people on here that dont know what theyre talking about!! it is an art an a sport u can master alot of other styles an sports but judo takes years to develope!!

  • "gentle Art" my fat ass... Jesus... I just started a BJJ/Submission grappling class where the instructor is a BLackbelt in both Judo and BJJ and I got to roll with him and HOLY PISS I have never been so banged up in my life and I train MMA with a Greco Roman wrestler.

  • yeeaaaahhh!!!! i love those kata gurumas!!!

  • I love this art... so under rated and deserves more credit. It's tougher than people think it is.

  • is anyone else watching 3:05 over and over again?

  • dont tell that, yeah on your opinion it is best, but on my it is not. i dont want to say tha JUDO suck, no, it is good but i find it too boring. But your opponent on back and thats it, pwwww. Common man, that is bullshit. Do some Brasilian Jiu-Jitsu, or same but in MMA stile. It is on of the best, but it is not best. Best is what you do best, but there is no sport what is best all around the world or earth.

  • @JakovBor What the FUCK did you just say? You must be an amazing alchemist because you managed to turn writing into SHIT

  • @JakovBor I agree. Especially with those faggot rule changes like no leg grabs, or body locks. It won't be able to comepte with wrestling and even BJJ(not a fan of BJJ). I hate that "throw and your done" shit. I always felt when i did lose to ippon I was still ready to keep fighting.

  • 2:30 onward = AWESOME!!!

  • it is a sport, an art, a lifestyle, its everything and more...there is no other desription for it...as a Sambo player, I hold Judo in high regard to my everyday training

  • Guys stop arguing about this is better and this not please just ENJOY THE SPORT :))

  • in judo how do they score the competitions. i take a mixed martial arts program but we dont do competitions or anything i was just wondering.

  • BEST VID ive seen so far

  • uau!!! great video!!!

  • Haha////remember Alexandre Coiupe?

Alexandre Coupe(ROM) - Toshihiko Koga(JPN) - Sode tsuri komi goshi!

  • iLOVE JUDO !!! :X

  • Well executed Judo is BEAUTIFUL!

  • I do judo, Im just about to get my green belt...

Its one of the best sports in the world and I love the feeling when I win with an ippon, I have a huge tournament comming up after Easter CANT WAIT!!!!

  • @Greekboy2009 good luck

  • @mrjewjitsu0 Thanks :)

  • 4:33 song?

  • I really love the tai-otoshi in 3:05 ...

  • well if you have doubts about judo, take on a blackbelt, I guarantee u'll c it from a new perspective.... on your back looking up (and of course it's effective without a gi, gi's werent even around when judo was founded) =)

  • Hey i wasnt saying judo isnt effective i was just asking if it is effective in a real life situation because i dont know as ive never studied the art.Regarding the gi ive heard alot of people say that without the gi alot of judo techniques dont work as you need the gi to grip onto for the leverage.Particularily in mma competition people say this because obviously your bare chested and so is your opponent.

  • @BoxingBadBoy77 it's little different without a gi. there're a lot of techniques you can't do without it. but still judo is pretty useful on streets ( the only drawback is that it's hard fighting multiple opponents at the same time, compared to boxing for exmp) , as well as in mma, one of the famous judokas out there would probably be Karo Parisyan. and there have been a lot of cases when judokas have choked wrestlers......

  • @BoxingBadBoy77

umm it's also takes time before you could actualy use judo in fighting, unlike jiu jitsu which is very practical, i assume tht is the reason why people prefer jiu jitsu over judo )))

  • type in youtube : judo-efficiency

  • im always hearing the argument that wrestling is a more effective grappling art than judo when you dont have a gi to grip onto.

  • (Not putting you down) As far as the gi thing goes. That depends on the instructor. When I first started, I learned to throw and do other grappling techniques without a gi. A lot of the throws and techniques in Judo can be slightly modified to work without a gi. That being said, I really don't think one style of Martial Art is better than another. It just depends on the person in the style.

  • Koga is the best

  • Espetacular! Muito bom as técnicas desses lutadores...

  • ei for all judoka's out there mind if i ask is katahajime still illegal?ive heard there were some new rules being applied...thanks..

  • its basically the same sir..but in bjj u spend more time in the guard in judo especially newaza or ground techniques there is a pin for 25 sec and that would cause u to lose...

  • @420CESAR91 bjj is based on ground game, any ground technique used in judo goes for bjj but not the other way around. Please correct me if im wrong. Either way as a judoka i'd say bjj is amazing.. Im a sucker for newaza :)

  • @420CESAR91 well it's pretty the same just that kodokan judo is like 60% throws and 40% newaza (judo's ground game)

and bjj is like 80-90% ground and 10-20% throws...

Oh and in competition judo you are not allowed to do leglocks... but in my dojo i've seen a few leglocks the trainer just said that's it is illegal in competition...

I like bjj but i took judo because bjj is too much focus on ground techniques... in a fight on the street a hard judo throw on concrete will end the fight right there

  • Well try do judo and bjj instead comparing them. It will give u amazing skills ! I'm transfering to other city soon and i will do judo there + 3x bjj , hope i will have fun ;)

  • Usually black belts in judo receive blue belt in BJJ very early, almost automatically. In judo rules, black belt judo will win easy vs bjj black belt, but in BJJ rules bjj fighter will win. When i had blue belt in BJJ and sometimes we had guests in our dojo [black belts judo ] i was easy fighting vs that black belt judo on the ground.

  • i think BJJ is really awsome too, but i better like the takedowns and throws from Judo, but i think BJJ maybe got better ground work.

  • Even though Im a Gracie Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Practitioner I still love Judo yes I do spar with Friends of Mine who are Judo practitioners and they have smooth takedowns and techniques.. and they complement me for my Ground Work..

To me Judo and GBJJ are Both Just as Awesome is that Wrong for me to say that??

  • judo is definitely a great sport....but i wouldn't say it's 100% effective on the street, there's no mats on the street...so if you attempt a throw and hit your head or face to the ground (which 50% times happens in a judo fight) you knock yourself out....i have also sparred with BJJ guys on the ground, and they know A LOT more effective transition techniques on the ground...90% of times however, it all comes down to whoever is better at what they do...styles don't fight, people do

  • i agree with Blackeye240 and nitcan..

  • Judo is nothing more than a fucking penalty show nowadays.

  • judo is great but not as effective as brazilian jiu jitsu

  • haha. definitely more effective.

    BJJ focuses on just ground.

JUDO has both and judoka are more well rounded.

  • yeah but no offense to any judo practiitioner but bjj has much better ground work....and bjj does have takedowns....remember where bjj came from

  • agreed

  • not in competition but street wise its far superior

in bjj u take a dude down and get ur face pounded in by his buddies

in judo u toss a dude knock him out and then proceed to kick his buddies ass as well

  • Judo is one of the mos tpopular sports, and it is the best sport, and lets you show poetry in motion.

  • 1:19

  • whats the song that starts at 4:30?

  • 3:04

  • I LOVE IT!!!

  • Quero falar pra sei lá quem ai da megaakproductions, velho respeita o judo! acho q gay é vc loco kkkk, acho q comeram o seu cú, e não deixaram o cel, ai vc ficou assim kkkk

  • whos the guy at 0:10

  • Judo is simply judo.

  • its neither life or an art. it's religion

  • what music is playing at the end?

  • Judo ain't sport, it's an art

  • its not art its life=)

  • @Herujju how do i join tournments like that?...can i do it indepently...

  • its both lol

  • i agree!

  • @hopestealer how do i join this....i think i would be really good at this...like prodigy..

  • @hopestealer thats stupid.. thats just like saying MMA isnt a sport, any martial art that has competition is also considered a sport, since judo is in the olympics and all these other high level tournements, what the hell then?

  • @hopestealer there isn't realy an martial art that isn't an art even MMA is an rt

  • judo have style..(:

  • muito foda show eu gostei pakas

  • the move at 0:54 is beautiful

  • SDFU you dont know anything about judo, you have no room to talk

  • Fuck yeah Judo is the best martial arts created,Jigoro Kano is the man!!!!

  • im thinking about taking up judo for self-defense purposes and i just wanted to know if it was worth doing?

  • hell yeah man i love judo...they have weird rules thou but it's a good art

  • if you want to learn self defense martial art style go with brazillian jujisu....it combines the trhows of judo, the takedowns, of wrestling pluss you learn how to brake someones arm and fight off your back

  • BJJ does nay have Judo throws, or very good wrestling by itself. Having wrestled in highschool, studied BJJ for a few years, then switched to Judo when it got too expensive, I can comfortably say that your pretty incorrect.

  • wow either ur a retard or the place u did bjj at tottally sucks cuz all bjj is judo+japanese jujitusu and more emphasis on ground combat.. so ur telling me they never taught u a uchi mata (judo throw) in bjj? or a simple double leg takedown (wrestling) in bjj? i wrestled in highschool as well and even though they don't emphasis the takedown and neutrual postion of wrestling as much in bjj they they still show u and train u in it

  • I was taught basic hip throws and leg reaps in BJJ, yes. But that doesn't mean they taught me Judo and wrestling. Just basic moves that translated well.

  • Judo is probly the best grappling style for self defence, ground techniques can be scary with bjj or like highschool wrestling cause if they have a weapon, or a friend, not a good place to be. Judo is great, people get hurt on mats, imagin a solid takedown on a sidewalk... Oww!!!

  • Exactly, better to learn an art that keeps you off the ground, and puts them on their back. All you need to make a Judo throw street effective is a kick in the face after they're down.

  • I think they would be done after being slamed onto cement at that force, but you know what grandma says, better safe than sorry! lol

  • yeah its worthwhile...judo as a martial art also trains defense against striking, but might i suggest if you want a more street oriented defense take up sambo, kravmaga or FMA..

  • Is judo still worth pursuing though as a self-defense tool or dont you think its that effective in a street situation?

  • i suggest you train judo take what is useful and second nature to ya, then combine it with other martial arts, brutality is the key...

  • Hey mate looking at this vid again im a little worried i wouldnt be able to master the falls, etc let alone the techniques! Is it really hard to master even how to fall and roll correctly so that you dont injure yourself badly?

  • I myself am a blackbelt in judo, have competed a lot. and recently i started to train in mma, it's so nice how you can easily take down the kickboxers and choke them or do an arm bar on them. I'm working on my stand up striking and kicking atm, once i mastered that. i'm pretty much a complete fighter and it feels good i must say.

  • i too have experienced this. Foot sweeps are the best. They just don't see them coming!

  • hate limp bizkit

    but love judo =)

  • Exellent vid! Shame about the bleedin rap crap in the middle though.

  • Muay Thai is my sport but Judo is kickass!

  • Muay thai mixed with judo and you are ready for mma

  • You should probably learn a little wrestling too, just to be safe.

  • 3:08 was an awesome use of the opponents momentum, the essence of Judo.

  • Yeah, that's pure judo!

  • fucking wicked that's all I have to say.

  • whats the music ?

  • Limp Bizkit

  • whats the guys name at 10 sec is he competing in the Olympics right now?

  • any form of judo or aikido is surly one of the best martial arts for a mixed martial artist but its still really good to have a blend of ground and standing attacks. B.J.J., judo, or aikido is one thing that i recommend for all martial artist to know

  • Aikido? Why?

  • take a karate person to the floor and see how tough he is then and when your in the ring with people like this its imposible to stand

  • you dont know just how tough a judo guy is until you go to a class and do radori (sparing)with a third dan then youl kmow how hard thows throws are and just how much speed you need it realy hurts even if you land properly

  • Thanks for the Judo video

  • hey, i in brazilian jiu jitsu and muay thai with kickboxing, and i was thinking about going into judo, what do you guys think?

  • that would be awesome

  • I think you should go for it.

  • I've been looking into Judo for about a week now. There really aren't any places in West Virginia to train in Judo. theres one place in Wheeling I think, but that's quite far away.

  • yeh judo is brilliant if you find a place thats right for you. depends on the place / teacher. The competitive side of it is amazing though. Sounds like your into MMA and judo internationals host an 80% win ration in MMA. so it can't be all bad. im soon joining Gracie Barra jujitsu. Can't wait. Good luck.

  • You should go for it its fun and it teaches you how to use your opponents weight and movement to throw him and throws are really powerfull they still hurt even if you land right

  • I like how judo uses the opponents weight against them. plus, i've always had a bit of trouble getting the fight to the ground for me to use my bjj. Even in class, i've used somethin from judo that i found out about by watching a video on here. it's great stuff. I can't wait till i find somewhere to train

  • i'd just stick with the jiu jitsu and become very effective at that instead of learning two diffrent martial arts that will teach the same principle. then once you get really good at jiu jitsu then branch off and learn new ways to do things like in judo.

  • Judo would help you with standup throws. It sounds like you have a good basis in strikes and on the ground.

  • estan cheveres esa tecnicas, el que quiere hacerlas tiene que practicar mucho

  • i've done judo for 6 years....the amount of technique and speed needed in monumentous. Another thing - the mats get replaced for everything big competetion, and they feel like concrete to land on.

  • Yeah thats what concerns me about taking up judo the fear of breaking my neck or something!

  • not going to happen. the first thing you learn is how to fall properly, and you have to remember that this is the olympics, these guys really dont want to lose. iv been training for 13 years now... and my only injury was a broken wrist, and only because i fell incorrectly. judo will change your life for the better. trust me.

  • nicely said..yeah the wrist injury is quite common in the club but for me all i popped out my shoulder and during randori i kinda twistd my foot while performing a morote seionage

  • @fastr1337 Well to be honest another thing i forgot to mention is i broke my elbow quite badly as a kid and have a metal pin in there and thus its not as strong as it once was and obviously more fragile and thats another reason why im not sure if i could take up judo.Have you ever known any people who have quite severe breaks, etc still being able to practise?

  • @BoxingBadBoy77 I broke my left wrist doing judo, clean in half, then I broke my right wrist in three places, had 2 pins (which have since been taken out) and I still do judo. I guess an elbow is a bit more risky. I must admit, i am a bit more careful and dont like my arms being in locks!

  • @BoxingBadBoy77

As long as you explain it to your sensei Im sure youll be fine. Why not go on judoforum. com and ask there? Theyre friednly as anything. Give it a go, it's the best thing I've ever done :)

  • i do judo along with a few other Martal arts its a lot of fun

  • @BoxingBadBoy77 that can't happen, when you are feeling pain you must slap in your opponent, and he will stop. I love judo, i like to pratic (:

  • sir, in judo they teach how to fall properly..what you see in the video is the cream of the crop olympic level performance they hate to lose, especially by ippon, they would rather choose injury than defeat, thats their bushido..

  • Thank you very much for the input!

  • ur welcome...judo and BJJ is a great sport and a martial art in its own rite, but a marriage of both is wonderful, they fear ur stand up and ur ground, like dave camarillo of guerilla jiu jitsu, and try searching for shinya aoki...

  • P.s Im curious do you learn anydecent submission techniques in judo for instance the triangle choke you get in bjj? Also do you get taught ways of doing throws that will incapacitate an attacker but without seriously injuring them?

  • you will learn almost everything they teach in BJJ in judo. BJJ was derived from japanese Ju-jitsu, as did judo. the submissions you will learn will blow your mind, and in Ne Waza, ground fighting, you will see a big similarity to BJJ.

  • Thabks alot for the reply!

  • yes and yes..there are throws that are illegal in competition and truthe be told those throws hurt, yes the triangle choke is called sankakujime, the arm bar is called jujigatame, the kimura is ude garame, its quite similar sir, but there are no leg locks during competition..its fun and alwys remember BJJ came from judo..and so as sambo...

  • So how worthwhile do you think judo is for self-defense purposes? The reason i ask is i read people saying that judo is basically non-effective without a GI is that true?

  • The music is not that great..
