Very well made, history should NOT be revised however. As despicable as the swastika is, it was always painted on the tail, vertical sabilizer, of every German/Nazi aircraft and should be visible for historical accuracy
@xstae and you want to make it only about czechs and poles, when common wealth countries such as newzealand, south africa, canada and australia proved some of the top aces and influential commanders in this battle, also a list of other countries like belgium and even neutral Ireland had several ww2 aces on of which had 32 confirmed more than any polish or czech raf ace of the war.
Just looking at the argument, to be fair it was roosevelt who betrayed poland and failed to stand up to stalin unlike churchill who wanted to be tougher only for roosevelt to take stalins side.
Also the english used to polish squadrons to rest their own in the end of august and september, they were actually doing better in kill ratio vs the germans before the rested the english squadrons.
@vena500 When the polish squadrons were activated the kill ratio of the raf vs the luftwaffe was at least as good if not better to when the polish joined the battle
From july to august raf lost 489 to 772 luftwaffe, in september when poles were in thick of the action raf lost 416 to luftwaffe 554 lost. Also due to the chaotic nature of ariel combat it is difficult to verify kills and secondly the poles disobeyed orders to get some cheap kills like attacking retreating german bombers
Yes, Czech, Polish pilots shoot down 50% of german aircrafts in Beatle of England. British Nation never said thank you. Fat Churchill betrayed Poland in 1945 and leave them in red soviet ass. Salute polish heroes.
If Sgt.Josef Frantisek was a Czechoslovakia soldier why he flew in 303 sqadron ? I refer to the book "qestion of honor" written by lynne olson and stanley cloud if i remember correctly
Had the Spitfires and Hurricanes were armed with 50 caliber machineguns instead of the .303 caliber..They could have shoot down more Germans..That is my only knock on these fighters..
His official status was a "pilot of the Czechoslovat exile army dislocated as a guest at the 303. Polish squadron". In the RAF there were 88 Czechoslovak pilots and 145 Polish pilots during the battle of Britain and you have to take into account that Poland has 4 times more inhabitants than the Czech republic. Sometime in the movies it looks like the only foreign pilots in the RAF were the Poles :)
Why do you keep talking about Poland? Josef Frantisek was a CZECHOSLOVAK pilot dislocated at one of the two Polish squadrons. There were two Czechoslovak squadrons as well, but J. Frantisek was in fact flying alone, in his own style. That was firstly because of his personality and secondly because he had left Bohemia occupied by Hitler via Poland and later France, as he wanted to help the Poles in the very first days of WWII.
The Battle of Britain is what made D-Day possible, if it were lost, an Allied victory would be damn hard and maybe even impossible. It is in times like these that heroes like Sgt. Josef Frantisek step forward to defend our way of life. Not for the East or West, for Black or White, but for a free world. We will always remember Churchill's words, "Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few."
england didnt get attaked they didnt have to help poland now britain blames poland for all that has happend that its there fault that they lost many pepole but its not its britains decision they wanted to fight
Nice Simulation....looks like you have a Mk IIA in some shots and MK I in otheres..still well done. Though you may want to consider your claim as the best pilot in the RAF...as several pilots did extremely well...I am sorry for the Sgt dying in an accident..but it happens.
@KrazzyKan Well that looser unlike you knows the emotional, economical and historical consequences of certain decisions made during that time. Unlike for you - and ignorant mindless american, this isn't about fucking "capturing the war" , it's not an action movie you douchebag - my country lived this while your grandfathers where sitting on their hemoroid riddled asses and getting fat. So with all due respect - fuck off.
@TheCheshireCowboy It's from the 'IL-2 Sturmovik' series of games. The latest of which is 'IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover', which is still a work in progress and is somewhat incomplete. Check out 'IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946', which is also available on Steam. That's a more complete compilation of previous versions of the game/sim, that' s still having stuff added to it by semi-official and non-official modders. Go to the '1C Company' or 'Ubisoft' 'IL-2 Sturmovik' forums for more info.
You guys forgot about one freakin important thing. 303rd had oldest and most dmged planes from all divisions durning BOB, and still they had best effectiveness and results, so get lost and admit that your asses was saved by Polish people, along with our slavic brothers.
The Poles,Czechs,Jews,Eastern Europe fought for the British Empire, Because they stood for Democracy and hope and they hated the Facists Axis Alliance who invaded most of Europe. I know alot of people hate the British, But in our darkest hour Pilots from all over the world came to our aid, Many hadnt been asked or invited they came from all the world, North-South America,Asia,Middle-easy,Africa,Australia. They were all very brave fighting for a better future for the world than a new dark age!
@martynrobin121 the world shuld be thankful to britain.they had opportunity to surrende as hitler many timestried to divide world between them as he admired what they achieved as small island country.england fought and as a pole i am thankful for everyone but please would you tell people form england and france and usa to stop showing this many propaganda about history.especially this is ungrateful to countries who helped engladn survive like poland, serbia, norway, new z.,canada, australia, grec etc
@DonFredek If the British Empire was defeated then as Churchill said "The whole world would sink into a new dark age and all that we love and care for will be gone, Even our Empire and the United states" Britain stood up to the Axis Alliance when victory looked impossible. Britain went to war for Polish independance and Stalin betrayed Britain,Poland. He had said Poland would be free after the war, In secret Stalin had planned to rule over Germany,Poland, etc etc WE DID OUT BEST.
@martynrobin121 That's interesting, I thought Britain declared war on Germany and did nothing for over a month, exept dropping leaflets while Poland was being massacred. Stalin betrayed Poland and eastern europe ? I thought Stalins intentions where very clear towards the end of the war and it was Churchill that agreed at Yalta to give Poland up without even mentioning that to the polish president. You need to get your facts straight. Wiki "Phoney war" and "Western betrayal".
@martynrobin121 The "British Empire" didn't even invite Poland to the London Victory parade - so please stop telling yourself that "you did your best" - you stayed out of the war for as long as possible watching europe burn and then you used every nation possible to defend Britain when you found yourselves in Hitlers crosshair and then you betrayed and tossed your allies like trash. That just about sums Britain up.
@4lm4pN you stayed out of the war for as long as possible- err- what for all of TWO DAYS?
Try it the other way- who did more ? to help Poland/Europe than Britain/ commonwealth/empire?.
Poland is France's historic ally, not Britain's , why didn't the REST of Europe collectively stand up to Hitler?, Britain had already lost nearly a million men and bankrupted itself in ww1, why was Europe Britain & France's responsibly again?
look up "operation unthinkable" as your such an expert
@farmerned6 I'm sorry I was incorrect - turns out britains lack of any major military operations lasted 8 months not a month or certainly not 2 days. All Briatain ever did was in it's own interest - get real. Historical alliances have nothing to do with this as it's the political situation of the period that determines the reality - and back then Poland France and Britain have signed military alliances - such documents oblige each side to react in the event of war.
@farmerned6 Lastly, you must know very little about the continent to ask why didn't Europe collectively stand up to Hitler - EU is now - back then it was every man for himself, not to mention a lot of countries where fledgelings like Poland who just reapeared on the map after WW1 and 120 of partition - so if you think Poland was able to stand up to Hitler you're an imbecile - not to mention that in the 30ties nobody imegined what Hitler would become and there was no reason to panic.
@farmerned6 Operation Unthinkable is a nice read. Insignificant tough. The fact taht you had "plans" for a day or two doesn't change history - and we all know what choice Churchill made in the end. At this point I'd like to ask you not to respond to my comments anymore as I'd wish to end this conversation. I base my judgement on facts while I can clearly see that you're obviously in denial as well as probably having your head filled with British post-war propaganda.
@4lm4pN Poland invaded 1st sept 1939, - WW2 starts, Britain and France Declare war 3rd sept - TWO DAYS Battle of the Atlantic begins THAT DAY - the Athenia is sunk, , Britain sends 4 ships worth of arms & and guarantees Polish Bank payments for war material
Sept 4, 1939 - RAF attacks the German Navy, Britain Mobilize's the 300,000 BEF and sends it to France in 6 WEEK's - BEFORE the French army is Mobilized in its own country, ENOUGH FACTS FOR YOU ? MY QUESTION - AGAIN - WHO DID MORE?
@farmerned6 The declaration of war alone doesn't help anybody - it was symbolic at the very least and that's what makes it so pityful. Is a woldwide known fact the British avoided any MAJOR (do you understand the concept?) engagements with Naz Germany as they believed Hitler could still be reasoned with. Athenia is sunk - tough luck. The RAF attacks a german naval base ? Gimme a break - one insignificant sortie instead of a full offensive on german indusrtrial and military targets ?
@4lm4pN OH SORRY moving 300,000 troops isn't a major effort!!!!!!!! the Battle of the Atlantic wasn't a MAJOR effort!!
what exactly do you think Britain with a small standing army, which is historically a sea power no long range heavy bombers (have you seem the RAF bomber combat losses in France?), what realistically would have happened it they would have attacked the Siegfried line with its 48 divisions?, Britain had signed up against Germany NOT Russia,
@farmerned6 British Expedidionary Force sent to France ? To do what ? Stick anti-war posters, sit do nothing and wait untill the invasion of france to get chased back onto their ships instead of launching a full counteroffensive together with the french army while over a half of the german military force was engaged in Poland ? Lastly - Who did more ? The Soviets did - even if we both don't like them thats a fact.
@farmerned6 Your country did nothing beyond defending their airspace and stopping the invasion of Britain and naval operations really - for the most part you just gave Stalin everything he asked for betraying every possible nation along the way just to keep him in play so that 25 million of soviet not british people could die in the war effort and win the war for you. If not for the financial help of USA along with the convoys of precious materials you'd be a spectator, nothing more.
@farmerned6 I take that back - SOE operations where of some use in the overall scheme - but as we both know a lot of SOE operatives where in fact immigrants. ;] I'm just waiting for you to tell me now that the british decoded enigma ; D Because that's what they tought you at school - Britain denied any help and took full credit for that right up untill the 70-80ies. I feel sorry for you, it's not easy to face a shameful history of your own country but you're just being ignorant and naive.
@farmerned6 Awesome that you flattened some german cities long after the outcome of the war was decided.
Funny how Tunisia and the whole african campaign was a 2nd theatre of war insignificant to the magnitude of developements in the continent. (btw awesome victories against a mainly italian army with inferior training and equipment who still kicked your ass all the way back to Egipt before you managed to do anything)
@farmerned6 Funny how D-day was a secondary theatre of war designed mainly to save shreds of allied dignity in the face of a mainly singlehanded Soviet victory. it was a race to save most of europe from falling into Stalins hands as well as a race to save the economical, political and buisness connections on which europe was always based. Hardly an act of selflesness. Where the fuck did I say Soviets "liberated" Poland - they mearly defeated the germans there and switched one regieme for another
@farmerned6 Btw. dude don't even mention the North African campaign really. Next thing you're gonna say is that Montgomery was a great commander. The only reason you pushed anything back to Tunisia is because of a vast men equipment and supply advantage - and that was achieved after two and a half years of a lof weaker Afrika Korps plowing through your sorry British asses. Rommel was twice the man and commander as Montgomery who's brilliance I'm sure you can appreciate during the unnecessary
@farmerned6 operation of Market Garden - a total failure which cost 80% of a whole division either their lives or being captured. God save the Queen ~~
@4lm4pN so you took a week reading wiki wiseguy- here off the top my head just for you! A Simple fact for you Monty beat Rommel and died of old age - SCOREBOARD!!! Tunisia and Stalingrad, the axis lost 300,000 troops at each ,secondary? - dream on
D-day still is the largest amphibious landing ever - minor ? - what a delusional git you are,
5th TIME WHO DID MORE TO HELP POLAND?, that's an answer you really cant stomach to admit loser, we can all see that.
@4lm4pN Shows how much you know, Britain declared war on Germany 1939 because Hitler invaded Poland. Britain was fighting in Europe,Africa,Mid-east,Asia,Pacific,etc and was fighting from the very start, How did Britain stay out?? And Poland wasnt in the Victory parade because they were occupied by Soviets and Cold war had just started. And Britain didnt betray there Allies we gave Soviets,France Tanks,Air-Craft,etc and other nations weapons, etc RESEARCH!! how did Britain betray there Allies??
@martynrobin121 Jesus, can you read ? Do you understand what I wrote od are you just reading what you want it to be ? There was almost an 8 month gap between the declaration of war and any SIGNIFICANT military action by Britain. There's also a difference in the phrase "stayed out as long as possible" and "stayed out indefinitely". Poland wasn't communistic you moron - it became so after Churchill had betrayed Poland and some other easter europe allies and sold them to Stalin behind their back.
@4lm4pN You are stupid, Churchill never sold Poland. Stalin agreed to FREE poland after the War however he betrayed the British after the Cold war had started and Poland became occupied by Communist Forces!!! And Britain wasnt prepared for war, The first actions were in Sea,Air and Britain needed time to organise and get troops into France,Norway, etc. The British went to war for Polish Independance and started the cold war for Poland!!
@martynrobin121 Churchill was such a coward in fact that the Polish president learned that fact not from him but from Molotov on a conference in Moscow at which Churchill was present and still didn't say a thing about dealing under the table with Stalin regarding Central and Easter Europe policies. Poland wasn't invited to the London victory parade because Stalin wrote a personal letter to Churchill asking him to deny the Poles a place in a parade they rightfuly deserved.
@4lm4pN Poland wasnt in the Victory parade due to the fact, The Cold war had started and Poland was occupied by the Communist Soviet Forces. Stalin agreed to FREE poland and he betrayed the British whitch was key part in the start of the Cold war. You call Churchill a coward?? You know nothing of Churchill. He was the only leader to see action in the Front and was nearly killed leading Allied troops into Germany. Why do you think Britain declared war on Germany??
@martynrobin121 And even if Poland was communistic do you think that given the polish war contribution in it's absolutely worst and most bloodstained part of history denying Poland taking part in the victory parade was fair by any standards ? Get fucking real - I seriously can't believe you british people - you're sooo egocentric - everything you do is so awesome and unmistakable right ? Makes me pity you people with your ignorant tv propaganda filled minds. Can't even admit you did smth wrong.
@4lm4pN I didnt say the Polish were Communists, I said Communist Forces Occupied Poland, And the Cold war had started. Thats why the Polish wernt at the Victory Parade!!! And why do you think Britain declared war on Germany 1939??? Britain fought for Polish Independance. Hitler made it very clear he didnt want war with Britain from the very start. Who else stood up for Polish Independance?? And Britain didnt betrayed Poland we sacrificed everything for them!!! MISTAKE!!
@whaddupmf What an idiot you are, Britain declared war on Germany because the Nazis had invaded Poland and Hitler refused to withdraw his forces, Britain declared war to stand up for Polish independence this is fact Hitler never wanted a war with Britain! Also it was Britain who told Stalin to free poland after the war and hold elections, Stalin refused and the Cold war started. Just think about!!! BRITAIN STOOD UP FOR POLISH INDEPENDENCE when NO OTHER NATIONS would!!!! Who else helped Poland??
@martynrobin121 : Britain only declared war on Germany because of the agreement with Poland. After the krauts walked into Austria and Czechoslovakia, Germany invaded Poland. Britain declared war on Germany to save face before the eyes of the world and then did nothing except drop leaflets over Germany. Britain was pushed to the wall. The honourable thing was to declare war. After all, sooner or later they would be under attack. By the way, name calling doesn't affect me.
@whaddupmf Britain declared war on Germany to stand up for Polish independence, The British only declared war on Germany because Hitler refused to withdraw his forces.(Otherwise there would be no war between Britain and gemany) And Austria wanted to Unite with Germany, Hitler was Austrian. And Adolf Hitler never had any plans to make war with Britain, Hitlers main goal was to destroy Communism and the Soviet Union. And Bitain bombed Geman military, industry as early as 1939. THINK ABOUT IT!!
@onurguz35 Britain did NOT sell Poland to the Soviets, Thats a lie! Britain made it very clear to the Soviets that Poland should be free after the war, Stalin agreed with Churchill and said that Poland would be free and that nations in Eastern Europe would have the right to elect and vote, Stalin went against his promise and the Cold war started 1945! And YES, Britain did declare on Germany to stand up for Polish freedom and then stood up against Stalin yet again for Poland just research!
@martynrobin121 Do you think that anyone in British government believed Stalin would remain true to his word like Hitler did about the Munich aggreement in 1938? The Poles and Czechs were sold out in 38/39 and they were then sold out again in 48. The Czechs and Poles lost everything while Britain enjoyed freedom in the west. People in the UK have no idea what it is like to live under Nazism and Communism. They are so reliant on that little 22 mile bit of sea.
@Al88CZ Just REMEMBER: The British declared war on Germany when they invaded Poland 1938. It was the British who made Stalin agree that after the war Eastern Europe would be FREE and hold elections. It was STALIN who betrayed Poland twice NOT BRITAIN! It was America who refused to stand up to the Soviet Union about Poland-Eastern Europe, Churchill would argue with Stalin and go crazy about Eastern Europe and the right of a FREE Poland which started the war! What else could Britain do??
@malypowstaniec44 Please Remember the Red Army was always going to take Eastern Europe from the Axis. The British could do nothing to stop them. Churchill could only argue with Stalin about a FREE Eastern Germany-Europe after the war. Stalin did agree, but betrayed his word. The Cold war started and Operation Unthinkable the 1945 the Allies planned to attack the Soviets and liberate Eastern Europe and started WW3 yet anouther war due to Poland, The British done everything they could.
@martynrobin121 oh the US could to A LOT to prevent this from happening... I mean totally give up the land-lease for USSR. The USSR was an even more barbaric occupant than Hitler's Germany. Giving them vehicles and supplies for free was simply supporting murder.
@malypowstaniec44 Well obviously, the nations are at war. The US didn't want to see Nazism spread over the English Channel and extinguish one of the worlds main democracies.
You can't seriously blame everyone of supporting murder whilst at war, i mean, would women making ammunition and uniforms for the soldiers count as supporting murder?
And it depends what you mean by barbaric, i mean, the Soviets didn't attempt to kill off an entire race. The holocaust was worse than any WW2 atrocities.
Holocaust... 10 mln people. It was a genocide, oh yes it was. But:
Post-october revolution feminine - millions of people killed after the bolsheviks turned Russia into a ruin only to gain power.
1932-1933 Holodomor - 11.5 mln people killed in Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
1937-1938 the Great Terror. 7 to 8 mln people arrested, 1 to 1.5 mln people shot by NKVD, 2 mln killed in concentration camps. About 8 mln people imprisoned inconcentration camps at the end of 1938.
1939-1945 World War II. 20 mln Soviet people killed, could have been much less if not the terror strategy to hold the front at any cost and get Berlin as fast as possible.
1946-1947 another feminine in USSR, 1.5 mln people killed.
In addition, many people were simply killed and sent to Sibiria in other years.
1938-1941, when Stalin was preparing RKKA to conquer Europe, people were working up to even 16 hours a day in military factories.
It depends on the data, but Stalin is said to have 50 to 100 million Soviet people killed while leading the USSR.
To sum up - yes, holocaust was 'worse than any other WW2 atrocity', because during World War II USSR slowed down a bit with killing their own civilians and focused on killing Germans. But this is the ONLY reason to that.
@malypowstaniec44 Look mate, I agree that Stalin and the Soviet Union was savage. Stalin & Hitler had alot in common. I also agree that the British should have left the Fasist & Communist 2 destroy each other in the Eastern Front. However, Hitler started the war with Britain! It was Hitler who betrayed Stalin, Adolf Hitler united Churchill & Stalin to fight a common enemy, Just like when Britain+Russia fought the "First world war" against French Empire & US.
@malypowstaniec44 Both the British Empire & United States gave the Soviets a lendlease, However the supplies from the Allies to Soviets was very small, They could not even make up 25% of the soviet war effort. Trucks were the most vital thing the Allies gave the Red Army. And Stalin paid with Gold, etc but stopped paying his loans due to the fact the Allies were planning to attack the Soviet Union, And Cold war had started. The Red Army was always going to take East Europe they were unstoppable.
Well, USSR planned to conquer the whole world, or at least most of Europe in 1941-42. The problem was - Hitler attacked first. But what I am saying, they didnt deserve even a single truck, sherman, bullet or drop of oil. If two terrorists fight against each other you shall either help the victims of those terrorists, or at least leave them be and finish each other off.
@malypowstaniec44 What? "The Soviet Union planned to conquer the whole world" Where do you get this bullshit? Its impossible to conquer the world. Stalin had plans to expand into Eastern Europe, The same as Hitler had plans of expanding into E.Europe and Western Russia. The Allies gave the Soviets war material due to fact they were both fighting a common enemy. It was a WORLD WAR against the European Axis powers & Japan. Hitler started the war, And his plan backfired.
@martynrobin121 well, it is, if you win a certain number of wars and launch a certain number of revolutions...
Stalin had plans to expand into WESTERN Europe, definitely not only eastern. "The Allies gave the Soviets war material due to fact they were both fighting a common enemy." Do you think that the enemy of my enemy is my friend... even if he is MY enemy? That would mean that Hitler was allied with Britain...
@malypowstaniec44 And what so called plans did Stalin have to expand into Western Europe? I seem to remember it was bonus he got Berlin. Are you honestly saying they would have took Paris? Also remember it would have been in Britains best interests to accept Hitlers offer & gain W.Europe knowing that Fasicm & Communism will destroy each other, And who ever is left standing, Well will be no match for the Brits, However it was the Yanks who were thinking smart, They are very sly.
Why else would he build an army stronger that all other armys in the world taken together?... USSR, just like the 3rd Reich and the European Union must SPREAD to survive. Once USSR stopped spreading, it started to collapse, same with Hitler's Germany, same with the EU today. A country where everything is done in order to conquer, cannot exist without spreading.
And yes, of course they would take Paris if it hadn't been for USA. The whole Operation 'Storm' assumed that.
@malypowstaniec44 You said "Britain declared war and done nothing" However 1939 the RAF started 2 bomb Northern Germany. The Royal Navy started to blockade Europe, The British sent BEF into mainland Europe. What else could the British do? Who else helped Poland? The French attacked Germany during the Saar advance 1939. The British were paranoid over Stalin, and the French were shit scared and forced into the war. At least the British stood up for Poland, We could have left you 2 Hitler & Stalin.
@martynrobin121 "Agreement of Mutual Assistance between the United Kingdom and Poland, August 25, 1939."
ARTICLE I.
Should one of the Contracting Parties become engaged in hostilities with a European Power in consequence of aggression by the latter against that Contracting Party, the other Contracting Party will at once give the Contracting Party engaged in hostilities all the support and assistance in its power.
@malypowstaniec44 The war between Germany & Poland lasted weeks, The British could do nothing. There was no British Colonies or Bases in Mainland Europe. I honestly dont know what you can expert the British could have done? The British sent the BEF in Europe 1940 2 protect France,Beglium,Norway,Greece,Balklans and by 1941 the entire BEF were pushed out of mainland Europe. In 1939 the British could do nothing but watch as Germany and Soviets invaded & occupied in Blitzreig style.
@martynrobin121 first of all, idk why didn't France and UK launch a mass offensive in 1939? They vastly outnumbered the Germans both on the ground and in the air, and even on the sea. Germany would fall. Their oil supplies were all gone after the Fall Weiss, so their tanks were out of combat already. It would take a long time to transport all the division from Poland to western Germany. There are many reasons to that...
@malypowstaniec44 France did attack Germany 1939, Saar Advance but they got scared knowing the Soviets invaded Poland with Germany and started to withdraw. The British had no force in Europe to attack Germany, The RAF bombed Northern Germany and the R.N started a blockade around Europe, The British sent BEF into Europe. Poland was invaded & occupied within weeks by Hitler & Stalin there was nothing the British could do, And the French were shit scared of German-Soviet Alliance.
@martynrobin121 "At least the British stood up for Poland, We could have left you 2 Hitler & Stalin."
rather Poland stood up for Britain, it was us who spilled blood so that you could live, not the other way. And leaving us to Hitler and Stalin was a FACT. You actually DID leave us to Hitler and Stalin.
Just one more word about the Polish soldiers in exile - Squadron 303 saved your asses in the Battle of Britain, and while gen. Maczek's soldiers were bleeding at Chambois, the frogs were goin on a walk to liberate Paris (which required no effort at all...) and Polish people were not even invited for the Victory Parade in London... even Belgium, Brazil, China, Czechoslovakia, France, Greece, Holland and Luxembourg did participate in it, and those hardly did anything to stop Hitler
@martynrobin121 with apologies to the people of Czechoslovakia, who fought really bravely in exile aswell. I rather meant the Czekoslovakia's government in 1938-39.
@malypowstaniec44 So what you blame Czech on the British now? Remember the British said Germany could have ther Sudenland if they signed & agreed 2 peace. Hitler as usual betrayed his words and occupied all of Czech. In 1939 Hitler invaded Poland and refused 2 leave, The British declared war and Poland was occupied before Britain could do anything, Remind me again who else stood up for Polish freedom and the right of free Eastern Europe? The only nation 2 stand up Hitler & Stalin was BRITAIN!
@martynrobin121 'the British said Germany could have ther Sudenland' what 'their' Sudetenland? Sudetenland IS and WAS Czech, so Britain simply approved an act of agression. 'The British declared war and Poland was occupied before Britain could do anything' the British could land in Northern Germany. With complete naval superiority that was doable. France could attack from the west... France had the 3rd strongest army in the world at that time and a major superiority on that front
@martynrobin121 the ONLY nation 2 stand up Hitler & Stalin was POLAND.
The ONLY one, the absolutely ONLY one. Britain and France stood up against Hitler, but ALLIED with Stalin... we were on our own at all times. I'd say there were 4 sides in that war - Allies-Axis-USSR and Poland.
@martynrobin121 also: 'Should one of the Contracting Parties become engaged in hostilities with a European Power in consequence of aggression by the latter against that Contracting Party, the other Contracting Party will at once give the Contracting Party engaged in hostilities all the support and assistance in its power.' Neither Britain nor France did even declare war to USSR. Not even that.
@martynrobin121 and although it would be very stupid for the Allies to go to war with USSR, they could at least help Poland fight the Germans, and they did NOT. The British were sleeping on their island of dreams and did ot give a shit about the war in Europe. They opened their eyes when the Battle of Britain started... They fought bravely but only to save their own asses, as they did not give a shit about alliances, pacts or agreements. Sorry but it is the truth.
@malypowstaniec44 Britain was the only nation to stand up 2 the Axis powers, Britain declared war on Germany 1939 for the invasion of Poland. The British sent the BEF into Europe 2 protect Norway,Belgium,France,Greece,Balkans from Axis invasion. The British had 2 protect 1/4 of the entire Planet!! It was the Churchill who went crazy with Stalin about a free Eastern Europe, The Cold war started because of Poland, Britain done everything, Who else stood up for Poland & Eastern Europe-NOBODY!
@martynrobin121 hello, in fact Australia was the First Commonwealth country to declare war on Germany due to the international time difference, but only after Robert Menzies the Aussie PM spoke to the British PM and WE the Aussies had a larger percentage of population than any other Commonwealth country in the armed forces during WW2 closely followed by New Zealand and then Canada.
Britian did not stand alone against Germany i'm sorry to say.
@auscam6666 I never said Britain stood alone, The British Empire stood alone united. Also Germany did not stand alone, They were part of the Axis Alliance. Yes Australia was the first Commonwealth nation to declare war on Germany, Australia is very loyal and we love them here in Britain. My Grandfarther lost both his brothers who served with the Aussies in Libya. Australia,Canada and N.Z are the most loyal and brave Allies the British will ever have.
@onurguz35 Britain wasn't in a position to prevent the German occupation of Poland nor was she in a position to force Stalin to keep his word. Britain together with the United States might have been able to force Stalin to keep his word, but the cost in life would have been staggering and the world was tired of war.
@martynrobin121 Germany bombed Britain in 39 as well. First raid was 16th October. The Polish situation before and after the war was a mess. The Poles probably did more for us than we did for them. Highest scoring squadron of the Battle of Britain was the Polish squadron. Britain had absolutely no way of mounting an offensive for Poland in 39 anyway. Apart from the BoB we didn't reall find our legs till North Africa as an offensive force.
@InkyNibIllustrations The British done alot for Poland, We gave them weapons, supplies and declared war on there enemies. If the French had not been weak & corrupt then Germany would have defeated and Italy, etc would have been too scared to step out of line again. However France let the side down. Also it was Churchill who made Stalin promise to FREE Poland and Eastern Europe after the war, However Stalin betrayed his word and the Cold war started. Also many poles stayed in Britain as heroes.
@martynrobin121 they never got any weapons or supplies, we didn't even sign an agreement with them until the week before Germany invaded. The BEC/French offensives were a massive half hearted fuck up. We didn't give a toss about Poland, they weren't important enough to come into play until towards the end of the war. The Poles who stayed here were so revered as heroes we didn't even let them march in the 46 victory parade.
@InkyNibIllustrations The British could do nothing about the invasion of Poland, However Britain declared war on Germany for the invasion. The BEF was not involved in the Saar advance 1939, It was only the French Army. In 1940 the British had 13 divisions to protect France from a German invasion of 152 divisions(Impossible task). The British did send supplies to Poland, before and during the war. Britain 1939 declared war because of Poland, Cold war-Churchill planned to attack Russia-POLAND!
@vena5000 I dont understand people like you, Britain declared war on Germany due 2 Poland. The Cold war started due 2 Poland. If it wasnt for the British, Poland would be part of Germany and the Poles would have been sent 2 Deaths camps or enslaved. The Jews & Slavs, undesirables would be wiped out. It was the British who done ther best to FREE Poland from Hitler & Stalin. Who else stood up for Poland? At least Britain done something, We could have left the Poles to be exterminated and Russia.
@malypowstaniec44 What? The USA saved Paris! Where do you get this bullshit? When Germany & Italy invaded France 1940, How many divisions did the US send 2 help their Allies...NONE! Also Operation Overlord, Liberation of France & the low Countries a British plan. The U.S enjoyed a victory parade in paris 1944, when the Axis had ran away 2 save Europe & the fartherland from Communism. It was the French resistance who saved Paris & France, Viva le Resistance!!!!
@martynrobin121 with British permission and full knowlegle of this plan even before it had transpired. What a fucking fairy tale world of television induced propaganda you live in - hah ; D
The best pilot ever was Hans-Ulrich Rudel. Nazi German Luftwaffe was awarded knights cross of the iron cross golden oak leaves, swords and diamonds. Over 2000+ targets including one destroyer.
@WiLLi4M9519 and untrue.i mena mussolini thought he was the ebst horserider, canonier, dancer, lover, baker and farmer.who the hell believes germans or russians???
WHY POLISH PILOTS WERE FIGHTING IN BATLE FOR THE QUEEN OFF CRUMPETS ?
POLES NEVER GOT ANYTHING FROM THE ENGLISH.
MANY POLISH PEOPLE DIED AND AFTER THE WAR ENDED THEY WERE LEFT FOR RUSSIANS. AFTER RUSSIANS LEFT POLAND. THE ENGLISH TOOK THEM HERE AND MNAY POLISH PEOPLE SLEPT ON THE STREETS OF LONDON OR ENDED CLEANING ENGLISH TOILETS. I BELIEVE NO ONE POLISH MAN WILL FORGET THE DISCRIMINATION AND HATRED THEY EXPERIENCED IN ENGLAND AFTER THEY JOINED THE GREAT EU .
@Lacey54328 They fought for their country and there was only G.B. left at that time who gave the chance to do it... and second - the polishing the shoes were choice of those who went to G.B., not fault of English people... you seems quite far away from the world to me...
If you think the Poles were fighting for King and Country you do no know your history. They were fighting the Nazis who had over run their country and murdered hundreds of thousands. What were we to do in 1945, declare war on Russia like we did on Germany when Hitler invaded Poland?
You comment about Poles in Britain today is rubbish, we have housed and found jobs for hundreds of thousands of them and they are generally well respected. Go do some learning.
He had the highest number of confirmed kills, but to claim he is the BEST is inaccurate. Best in what way? Best pilot, best shot, best what - and he didn't survive. Ginger Lacey on the other hand, not only had the second highest number of kills in the Battle of Britain but went on to fight in other World War 2 arenas. The only pilot to be on ops on the first and last days of the war, and survived to old age. Listen to his interview on BBC archives - Ginger was a hard man and no mistake.
Air Vice Marshal James Johnson was probably the best fighter pilot of the RAF, 38 Kills. ALL 38 victories were against single engined fighters ranking him as the top-scoring Allied Ace of World War II.
If they were shooting Nazis I would gladly join them. a German/Nazi world is a dead world. Although, why attack Civvies, wouldn't you attack the air bases if the aircraft were so annoying? It seems like the most logical thing to do, but then again, he is German....Oh wait, He's not! He's not even Aryan, yet he constantly supports an Aryan world...so in the end he has to die...because he's not Aryan?
Good vid. It is worth reminding that Polish squadrons yielded over 2 times higher effectiveness compared to the British squadrons during the BoB.
I envy you the "Dark Blue World" movie which tells story of Czech pilots during WW2. We still don't have a movie that tells story of Polish pilots of that era. A big thanks to damn commies of 1945-1989 and commies of 1989-today.
@Tome4kkkk the Poles did not shackle themselves with class crap like the Brits did. Forinstance only Pilot Officers in the Brit squadrons were allowed to have their guns harmonised while Pilot NCOs were stuck with the guns parallel.
Also the Poles were more focussed, their country had been laid waste and they hated the Germans for it to the point the they would target German aircrew after they had baled out.
ok, just to clear things up... Frantisek was statistically THE BEST fighter in the battle of britain... meaning he had the highest number of kills during the battle. he fought alongside the legendary polish 303 as the only czech pilot in the squadron. however, he had a lone wolf fighting style and usually flew his own course (and was the only pilot allowed to do so due to his effectiveness). unfortunately, he committed suicide and crashed his plane towards the end of the battle.
I am intigued by your last comment that he committed suicide. Must research this. I wonder if he spoke English or Polish, if he did not and only knew enough to follow orders he must have had a very lonely war without the support that most warriors get from their comrades.
If that was the case it must have been awful for him.
@tpsossff he was definitely close to his squadron members. he made the decision to fly with the 303 himself. the suicide part is only speculated. many people said he had a dark side that he kept buried within.
The B of B pushed most of the front line pilots to their limits and beyond. The Poles had the additional burden of having seen their own country lade waste by the Russians and the Germans. Many pilots died after making simple mistakes due to fatigue and stress, like the one whose body was recovered from the wreckage of a spitfire near my home a few years ago.
On his third sorte of the day he had simply forgotten to switch on his oxygen and passed out at altitude.
@tpsossff JF was with the polish on his apply... for him it was easier to fight his "lonely" war. Not to mention some sort of mess in which apparently was the Czechoslovak army leadership in that time...
@HailSatan411 Interesting..... I have never read anywhere they knew why he crashed... reasons were maybe fatigue or impressing his girlfriend with tricks.. is there proof he actually commited suicide. I also read more about him. and he was considered hard to work with and very insubordinate towards officers. It also must be said he placed his aircraft over Kent... where he could get straglers... you make the call.. easy kills.. or hard earned kills.. no disrespect.. but was he really that good
@HailSatan411 WTF you talking about ... he did not commit suicide ... The case is unconfirmed that it was pilot error due to the fact of sheer exhaustion , trying a manouevre that was beyond his Hurricane capabilities outside his girlfriends house or a plane malfunction.
@camfroghoofy so far I have read, he crashed into the protective wall on the airfield... cause is the mystery, or better say there are few theories, but nothing for sure... recently the book about him was published but I haven't read it yet
Thanks to With the Poles United Kingdom won the battle of Britain.

Oliver9402 1 month ago
Just looking at the argument, to be fair it was roosevelt who betrayed poland and failed to stand up to stalin unlike churchill who wanted to be tougher only for roosevelt to take stalins side.
Oliver9402 1 month ago
Also the english used to polish squadrons to rest their own in the end of august and september, they were actually doing better in kill ratio vs the germans before the rested the english squadrons.
Oliver9402 1 month ago
@vena500 When the polish squadrons were activated the kill ratio of the raf vs the luftwaffe was at least as good if not better to when the polish joined the battle
From july to august raf lost 489 to 772 luftwaffe, in september when poles were in thick of the action raf lost 416 to luftwaffe 554 lost. Also due to the chaotic nature of ariel combat it is difficult to verify kills and secondly the poles disobeyed orders to get some cheap kills like attacking retreating german bombers

I think you could honour them better if Sims were not used but the real thing would be good .

Yes, Czech, Polish pilots shoot down 50% of german aircrafts in Beatle of England. British Nation never said thank you. Fat Churchill betrayed Poland in 1945 and leave them in red soviet ass. Salute polish heroes.

Sometime in the movies it looks like the only foreign pilots in the RAF were the Poles :)
xstae 5 months ago
Why do you keep talking about Poland? Josef Frantisek was a CZECHOSLOVAK pilot dislocated at one of the two Polish squadrons. There were two Czechoslovak squadrons as well, but J. Frantisek was in fact flying alone, in his own style. That was firstly because of his personality and secondly because he had left Bohemia occupied by Hitler via Poland and later France, as he wanted to help the Poles in the very first days of WWII.
xstae 5 months ago 2
@xstae Frantisek don`t want fought as Czech pilot. He say "I`m am a Pole" to Czech oficer in England.

They were all very brave fighting for a better future for the world than a new dark age!
martynrobin121 8 months ago
@martynrobin121 the world shuld be thankful to britain.they had opportunity to surrende as hitler many timestried to divide world between them as he admired what they achieved as small island country.england fought and as a pole i am thankful for everyone but please would you tell people form england and france and usa to stop showing this many propaganda about history.especially this is ungrateful to countries who helped engladn survive like poland, serbia, norway, new z.,canada, australia, grec etc
DonFredek 8 months ago
@DonFredek If the British Empire was defeated then as Churchill said "The whole world would sink into a new dark age and all that we love and care for will be gone, Even our Empire and the United states" Britain stood up to the Axis Alliance when victory looked impossible. Britain went to war for Polish independance and Stalin betrayed Britain,Poland. He had said Poland would be free after the war, In secret Stalin had planned to rule over Germany,Poland, etc etc WE DID OUT BEST.
martynrobin121 8 months ago
@martynrobin121 That's interesting, I thought Britain declared war on Germany and did nothing for over a month, exept dropping leaflets while Poland was being massacred. Stalin betrayed Poland and eastern europe ? I thought Stalins intentions where very clear towards the end of the war and it was Churchill that agreed at Yalta to give Poland up without even mentioning that to the polish president. You need to get your facts straight. Wiki "Phoney war" and "Western betrayal".
4lm4pN 7 months ago
@martynrobin121 The "British Empire" didn't even invite Poland to the London Victory parade - so please stop telling yourself that "you did your best" - you stayed out of the war for as long as possible watching europe burn and then you used every nation possible to defend Britain when you found yourselves in Hitlers crosshair and then you betrayed and tossed your allies like trash. That just about sums Britain up.
4lm4pN 7 months ago
@4lm4pN you stayed out of the war for as long as possible- err- what for all of TWO DAYS?
Try it the other way- who did more ? to help Poland/Europe than Britain/ commonwealth/empire?.
Poland is France's historic ally, not Britain's , why didn't the REST of Europe collectively stand up to Hitler?, Britain had already lost nearly a million men and bankrupted itself in ww1, why was Europe Britain & France's responsibly again?
look up "operation unthinkable" as your such an expert
farmerned6 7 months ago
@farmerned6 I'm sorry I was incorrect - turns out britains lack of any major military operations lasted 8 months not a month or certainly not 2 days. All Briatain ever did was in it's own interest - get real. Historical alliances have nothing to do with this as it's the political situation of the period that determines the reality - and back then Poland France and Britain have signed military alliances - such documents oblige each side to react in the event of war.
4lm4pN 7 months ago
@farmerned6 Lastly, you must know very little about the continent to ask why didn't Europe collectively stand up to Hitler - EU is now - back then it was every man for himself, not to mention a lot of countries where fledgelings like Poland who just reapeared on the map after WW1 and 120 of partition - so if you think Poland was able to stand up to Hitler you're an imbecile - not to mention that in the 30ties nobody imegined what Hitler would become and there was no reason to panic.
4lm4pN 7 months ago
@farmerned6 Operation Unthinkable is a nice read. Insignificant tough. The fact taht you had "plans" for a day or two doesn't change history - and we all know what choice Churchill made in the end. At this point I'd like to ask you not to respond to my comments anymore as I'd wish to end this conversation. I base my judgement on facts while I can clearly see that you're obviously in denial as well as probably having your head filled with British post-war propaganda.
4lm4pN 7 months ago
MY QUESTION - AGAIN - WHO DID MORE?
farmerned6 7 months ago
@farmerned6 The declaration of war alone doesn't help anybody - it was symbolic at the very least and that's what makes it so pityful. Is a woldwide known fact the British avoided any MAJOR (do you understand the concept?) engagements with Naz Germany as they believed Hitler could still be reasoned with. Athenia is sunk - tough luck. The RAF attacks a german naval base ? Gimme a break - one insignificant sortie instead of a full offensive on german indusrtrial and military targets ?
4lm4pN 7 months ago
@4lm4pN OH SORRY moving 300,000 troops isn't a major effort!!!!!!!! the Battle of the Atlantic wasn't a MAJOR effort!!
what exactly do you think Britain with a small standing army, which is historically a sea power no long range heavy bombers (have you seem the RAF bomber combat losses in France?), what realistically would have happened it they would have attacked the Siegfried line with its 48 divisions?, Britain had signed up against Germany NOT Russia,
THIRD TIME EXPERT- WHO DID MORE?
farmerned6 7 months ago
@farmerned6 British Expedidionary Force sent to France ? To do what ? Stick anti-war posters, sit do nothing and wait untill the invasion of france to get chased back onto their ships instead of launching a full counteroffensive together with the french army while over a half of the german military force was engaged in Poland ? Lastly - Who did more ? The Soviets did - even if we both don't like them thats a fact.
4lm4pN 7 months ago

@4lm4pN
really now funny how Britain is despised for flattening German cities?
Funny how many Italian POW worked on my grandfather farm (German ones two)
Funny How Tunisia is on a par with Stalingrad in victories,
Funny how D-day was near 40-40-10 UK-US-French/Can
BTW Russia?, wrong answer - they kept Poland not liberated it, let the "home army" get slaughtered,
try harder- you bias is showing!!
4TH TIME EXPERT- WHO DID MORE?- for Poland not itself (if that's easier for you!)
farmerned6 7 months ago
@farmerned6 Awesome that you flattened some german cities long after the outcome of the war was decided.
Funny how Tunisia and the whole african campaign was a 2nd theatre of war insignificant to the magnitude of developements in the continent. (btw awesome victories against a mainly italian army with inferior training and equipment who still kicked your ass all the way back to Egipt before you managed to do anything)
4lm4pN 7 months ago
@farmerned6 Funny how D-day was a secondary theatre of war designed mainly to save shreds of allied dignity in the face of a mainly singlehanded Soviet victory. it was a race to save most of europe from falling into Stalins hands as well as a race to save the economical, political and buisness connections on which europe was always based. Hardly an act of selflesness. Where the fuck did I say Soviets "liberated" Poland - they mearly defeated the germans there and switched one regieme for another
4lm4pN 7 months ago
@farmerned6 Btw. dude don't even mention the North African campaign really. Next thing you're gonna say is that Montgomery was a great commander. The only reason you pushed anything back to Tunisia is because of a vast men equipment and supply advantage - and that was achieved after two and a half years of a lof weaker Afrika Korps plowing through your sorry British asses. Rommel was twice the man and commander as Montgomery who's brilliance I'm sure you can appreciate during the unnecessary

And Britain didnt betray there Allies we gave Soviets,France Tanks,Air-Craft,etc and other nations weapons, etc RESEARCH!! how did Britain betray there Allies??
martynrobin121 7 months ago
@martynrobin121 Jesus, can you read ? Do you understand what I wrote od are you just reading what you want it to be ? There was almost an 8 month gap between the declaration of war and any SIGNIFICANT military action by Britain. There's also a difference in the phrase "stayed out as long as possible" and "stayed out indefinitely". Poland wasn't communistic you moron - it became so after Churchill had betrayed Poland and some other easter europe allies and sold them to Stalin behind their back.
4lm4pN 7 months ago
@4lm4pN You are stupid, Churchill never sold Poland. Stalin agreed to FREE poland after the War however he betrayed the British after the Cold war had started and Poland became occupied by Communist Forces!!! And Britain wasnt prepared for war, The first actions were in Sea,Air and Britain needed time to organise and get troops into France,Norway, etc. The British went to war for Polish Independance and started the cold war for Poland!!
martynrobin121 7 months ago
@martynrobin121 Churchill was such a coward in fact that the Polish president learned that fact not from him but from Molotov on a conference in Moscow at which Churchill was present and still didn't say a thing about dealing under the table with Stalin regarding Central and Easter Europe policies. Poland wasn't invited to the London victory parade because Stalin wrote a personal letter to Churchill asking him to deny the Poles a place in a parade they rightfuly deserved.
4lm4pN 7 months ago
@4lm4pN Poland wasnt in the Victory parade due to the fact, The Cold war had started and Poland was occupied by the Communist Soviet Forces. Stalin agreed to FREE poland and he betrayed the British whitch was key part in the start of the Cold war. You call Churchill a coward?? You know nothing of Churchill. He was the only leader to see action in the Front and was nearly killed leading Allied troops into Germany. Why do you think Britain declared war on Germany??
martynrobin121 7 months ago
@martynrobin121 And even if Poland was communistic do you think that given the polish war contribution in it's absolutely worst and most bloodstained part of history denying Poland taking part in the victory parade was fair by any standards ? Who else stood up for Polish Independance?? And Britain didnt betrayed Poland we sacrificed everything for them!!! MISTAKE!!

@martynrobin121 Britain didn't fight for Polish independence. Don't get delusional here. Brits fought for Britain only to save their own asses.
whaddupmf 4 months ago
@whaddupmf What an idiot you are, Britain declared war on Germany because the Nazis had invaded Poland and Hitler refused to withdraw his forces, Britain declared war to stand up for Polish independence this is fact Hitler never wanted a war with Britain! Also it was Britain who told Stalin to free poland after the war and hold elections, Stalin refused and the Cold war started. Just think about!!! BRITAIN STOOD UP FOR POLISH INDEPENDENCE when NO OTHER NATIONS would!!!! Who else helped Poland??
martynrobin121 4 months ago
@martynrobin121 : Britain only declared war on Germany because of the agreement with Poland. After the krauts walked into Austria and Czechoslovakia, Germany invaded Poland. Britain declared war on Germany to save face before the eyes of the world and then did nothing except drop leaflets over Germany. Britain was pushed to the wall. The honourable thing was to declare war. After all, sooner or later they would be under attack. By the way, name calling doesn't affect me.
whaddupmf 4 months ago
@whaddupmf Britain declared war on Germany to stand up for Polish independence, The British only declared war on Germany because Hitler refused to withdraw his forces.(Otherwise there would be no war between Britain and gemany) And Austria wanted to Unite with Germany, Hitler was Austrian. And Adolf Hitler never had any plans to make war with Britain, Hitlers main goal was to destroy Communism and the Soviet Union. And Bitain bombed Geman military, industry as early as 1939. THINK ABOUT IT!!

onurguz35 4 months ago
@onurguz35 Britain did NOT sell Poland to the Soviets, Thats a lie! Britain made it very clear to the Soviets that Poland should be free after the war, Stalin agreed with Churchill and said that Poland would be free and that nations in Eastern Europe would have the right to elect and vote, Stalin went against his promise and the Cold war started 1945! And YES, Britain did declare on Germany to stand up for Polish freedom and then stood up against Stalin yet again for Poland just research!
martynrobin121 4 months ago
@martynrobin121 Do you think that anyone in British government believed Stalin would remain true to his word like Hitler did about the Munich aggreement in 1938? The Poles and Czechs were sold out in 38/39 and they were then sold out again in 48. The Czechs and Poles lost everything while Britain enjoyed freedom in the west. People in the UK have no idea what it is like to live under Nazism and Communism. They are so reliant on that little 22 mile bit of sea.
Al88CZ 2 months ago
@Al88CZ Just REMEMBER: The British declared war on Germany when they invaded Poland 1938. It was the British who made Stalin agree that after the war Eastern Europe would be FREE and hold elections. It was STALIN who betrayed Poland twice NOT BRITAIN! It was America who refused to stand up to the Soviet Union about Poland-Eastern Europe, Churchill would argue with Stalin and go crazy about Eastern Europe and the right of a FREE Poland which started the war! What else could Britain do??
martynrobin121 2 months ago
@martynrobin121 just a short question - what kind of an idiot trusts a man, who killed 5 times as many people as Hitler?...
malypowstaniec44 2 months ago
@malypowstaniec44 Please Remember the Red Army was always going to take Eastern Europe from the Axis. The British could do nothing to stop them. Churchill could only argue with Stalin about a FREE Eastern Germany-Europe after the war. Stalin did agree, but betrayed his word. The Cold war started and Operation Unthinkable the 1945 the Allies planned to attack the Soviets and liberate Eastern Europe and started WW3 yet anouther war due to Poland, The British done everything they could.
martynrobin121 2 months ago
@martynrobin121 oh the US could to A LOT to prevent this from happening... I mean totally give up the land-lease for USSR. The USSR was an even more barbaric occupant than Hitler's Germany. Giving them vehicles and supplies for free was simply supporting murder.
malypowstaniec44 2 months ago
@malypowstaniec44 Well obviously, the nations are at war. The US didn't want to see Nazism spread over the English Channel and extinguish one of the worlds main democracies.
You can't seriously blame everyone of supporting murder whilst at war, i mean, would women making ammunition and uniforms for the soldiers count as supporting murder?
And it depends what you mean by barbaric, i mean, the Soviets didn't attempt to kill off an entire race. The holocaust was worse than any WW2 atrocities.
OliByGolly1 2 months ago
Holocaust... 10 mln people. It was a genocide, oh yes it was. But:
Post-october revolution feminine - millions of people killed after the bolsheviks turned Russia into a ruin only to gain power.
1932-1933 Holodomor - 11.5 mln people killed in Ukraine and Kazakhstan.
1937-1938 the Great Terror. 7 to 8 mln people arrested, 1 to 1.5 mln people shot by NKVD, 2 mln killed in concentration camps. About 8 mln people imprisoned inconcentration camps at the end of 1938.
malypowstaniec44 2 months ago
1939-1945 World War II. 20 mln Soviet people killed, could have been much less if not the terror strategy to hold the front at any cost and get Berlin as fast as possible.
1946-1947 another feminine in USSR, 1.5 mln people killed.
In addition, many people were simply killed and sent to Sibiria in other years.
1938-1941, when Stalin was preparing RKKA to conquer Europe, people were working up to even 16 hours a day in military factories.
malypowstaniec44 2 months ago
It depends on the data, but Stalin is said to have 50 to 100 million Soviet people killed while leading the USSR.
To sum up - yes, holocaust was 'worse than any other WW2 atrocity', because during World War II USSR slowed down a bit with killing their own civilians and focused on killing Germans. But this is the ONLY reason to that.
malypowstaniec44 2 months ago
@malypowstaniec44 Look mate, I agree that Stalin and the Soviet Union was savage. Stalin & Hitler had alot in common. I also agree that the British should have left the Fasist & Communist 2 destroy each other in the Eastern Front. However, Hitler started the war with Britain! It was Hitler who betrayed Stalin, Adolf Hitler united Churchill & Stalin to fight a common enemy, Just like when Britain+Russia fought the "First world war" against French Empire & US.
martynrobin121 1 month ago
@malypowstaniec44 Both the British Empire & United States gave the Soviets a lendlease, However the supplies from the Allies to Soviets was very small, They could not even make up 25% of the soviet war effort. Trucks were the most vital thing the Allies gave the Red Army. And Stalin paid with Gold, etc but stopped paying his loans due to the fact the Allies were planning to attack the Soviet Union, And Cold war had started. The Red Army was always going to take East Europe they were unstoppable.
martynrobin121 2 months ago
Well, USSR planned to conquer the whole world, or at least most of Europe in 1941-42. The problem was - Hitler attacked first. But what I am saying, they didnt deserve even a single truck, sherman, bullet or drop of oil. If two terrorists fight against each other you shall either help the victims of those terrorists, or at least leave them be and finish each other off.
malypowstaniec44 2 months ago
@malypowstaniec44 What? "The Soviet Union planned to conquer the whole world" Where do you get this bullshit? Its impossible to conquer the world. Stalin had plans to expand into Eastern Europe, The same as Hitler had plans of expanding into E.Europe and Western Russia. The Allies gave the Soviets war material due to fact they were both fighting a common enemy. It was a WORLD WAR against the European Axis powers & Japan. Hitler started the war, And his plan backfired.
martynrobin121 1 month ago
@martynrobin121 well, it is, if you win a certain number of wars and launch a certain number of revolutions...
Stalin had plans to expand into WESTERN Europe, definitely not only eastern. "The Allies gave the Soviets war material due to fact they were both fighting a common enemy." Do you think that the enemy of my enemy is my friend... even if he is MY enemy? That would mean that Hitler was allied with Britain...
malypowstaniec44 1 month ago
@malypowstaniec44 And what so called plans did Stalin have to expand into Western Europe? I seem to remember it was bonus he got Berlin. Are you honestly saying they would have took Paris? Also remember it would have been in Britains best interests to accept Hitlers offer & gain W.Europe knowing that Fasicm & Communism will destroy each other, And who ever is left standing, Well will be no match for the Brits, However it was the Yanks who were thinking smart, They are very sly.
martynrobin121 1 month ago
Why else would he build an army stronger that all other armys in the world taken together?... USSR, just like the 3rd Reich and the European Union must SPREAD to survive. Once USSR stopped spreading, it started to collapse, same with Hitler's Germany, same with the EU today. A country where everything is done in order to conquer, cannot exist without spreading.
And yes, of course they would take Paris if it hadn't been for USA. The whole Operation 'Storm' assumed that.
malypowstaniec44 1 month ago

ARTICLE I.
Should one of the Contracting Parties become engaged in hostilities with a European Power in consequence of aggression by the latter against that Contracting Party, the other Contracting Party will at once give the Contracting Party engaged in hostilities all the support and assistance in its power.
malypowstaniec44 1 month ago
@malypowstaniec44 The war between Germany & Poland lasted weeks, The British could do nothing. There was no British Colonies or Bases in Mainland Europe. I honestly dont know what you can expert the British could have done? The British sent the BEF in Europe 1940 2 protect France,Beglium,Norway,Greece,Balklans and by 1941 the entire BEF were pushed out of mainland Europe. In 1939 the British could do nothing but watch as Germany and Soviets invaded & occupied in Blitzreig style.
martynrobin121 1 month ago
@martynrobin121 first of all, idk why didn't France and UK launch a mass offensive in 1939? They vastly outnumbered the Germans both on the ground and in the air, and even on the sea. Germany would fall. Their oil supplies were all gone after the Fall Weiss, so their tanks were out of combat already. It would take a long time to transport all the division from Poland to western Germany. There are many reasons to that...
malypowstaniec44 1 month ago
@malypowstaniec44 France did attack Germany 1939, Saar Advance but they got scared knowing the Soviets invaded Poland with Germany and started to withdraw. The British had no force in Europe to attack Germany, The RAF bombed Northern Germany and the R.N started a blockade around Europe, The British sent BEF into Europe. Poland was invaded & occupied within weeks by Hitler & Stalin there was nothing the British could do, And the French were shit scared of German-Soviet Alliance.

malypowstaniec44 1 month ago
Just one more word about the Polish soldiers in exile - Squadron 303 saved your asses in the Battle of Britain, and while gen. Maczek's soldiers were bleeding at Chambois, the frogs were goin on a walk to liberate Paris (which required no effort at all...) and Polish people were not even invited for the Victory Parade in London... even Belgium, Brazil, China, Czechoslovakia, France, Greece, Holland and Luxembourg did participate in it, and those hardly did anything to stop Hitler
malypowstaniec44 1 month ago
@martynrobin121 with apologies to the people of Czechoslovakia, who fought really bravely in exile aswell. I rather meant the Czekoslovakia's government in 1938-39.
malypowstaniec44 1 month ago
@malypowstaniec44 So what you blame Czech on the British now? Remember the British said Germany could have ther Sudenland if they signed & agreed 2 peace. Hitler as usual betrayed his words and occupied all of Czech. In 1939 Hitler invaded Poland and refused 2 leave, The British declared war and Poland was occupied before Britain could do anything, Remind me again who else stood up for Polish freedom and the right of free Eastern Europe? The only nation 2 stand up Hitler & Stalin was BRITAIN!
martynrobin121 1 month ago
@martynrobin121 'the British said Germany could have ther Sudenland' what 'their' Sudetenland? Sudetenland IS and WAS Czech, so Britain simply approved an act of agression. 'The British declared war and Poland was occupied before Britain could do anything' the British could land in Northern Germany. With complete naval superiority that was doable. France could attack from the west... France had the 3rd strongest army in the world at that time and a major superiority on that front
malypowstaniec44 1 month ago
@martynrobin121 the ONLY nation 2 stand up Hitler & Stalin was POLAND.
The ONLY one, the absolutely ONLY one. Britain and France stood up against Hitler, but ALLIED with Stalin... we were on our own at all times. I'd say there were 4 sides in that war - Allies-Axis-USSR and Poland.
malypowstaniec44 1 month ago
@martynrobin121 also: 'Should one of the Contracting Parties become engaged in hostilities with a European Power in consequence of aggression by the latter against that Contracting Party, the other Contracting Party will at once give the Contracting Party engaged in hostilities all the support and assistance in its power.' Neither Britain nor France did even declare war to USSR. Not even that.
malypowstaniec44 1 month ago
@martynrobin121 and although it would be very stupid for the Allies to go to war with USSR, they could at least help Poland fight the Germans, and they did NOT. The British were sleeping on their island of dreams and did ot give a shit about the war in Europe. They opened their eyes when the Battle of Britain started... They fought bravely but only to save their own asses, as they did not give a shit about alliances, pacts or agreements. Sorry but it is the truth.

@onurguz35 Britain wasn't in a position to prevent the German occupation of Poland nor was she in a position to force Stalin to keep his word. JaleelJohanson62 4 months ago
InkyNibIllustrations 2 months ago
@InkyNibIllustrations The British done alot for Poland, We gave them weapons, supplies and declared war on there enemies. If the French had not been weak & corrupt then Germany would have defeated and Italy, etc would have been too scared to step out of line again. However France let the side down. Also it was Churchill who made Stalin promise to FREE Poland and Eastern Europe after the war, However Stalin betrayed his word and the Cold war started. Also many poles stayed in Britain as heroes.
martynrobin121 2 months ago
@martynrobin121 they never got any weapons or supplies, we didn't even sign an agreement with them until the week before Germany invaded. The BEC/French offensives were a massive half hearted fuck up. We didn't give a toss about Poland, they weren't important enough to come into play until towards the end of the war. The Poles who stayed here were so revered as heroes we didn't even let them march in the 46 victory parade.
InkyNibIllustrations 2 months ago
@InkyNibIllustrations The British could do nothing about the invasion of Poland, However Britain declared war on Germany for the invasion. The BEF was not involved in the Saar advance 1939, It was only the French Army. In 1940 the British had 13 divisions to protect France from a German invasion of 152 divisions(Impossible task). The British did send supplies to Poland, before and during the war. Britain 1939 declared war because of Poland, Cold war-Churchill planned to attack Russia-POLAND!

Tome4kkkk 1 year ago
@Tome4kkkk the Poles did not shackle themselves with class crap like the Brits did. Forinstance only Pilot Officers in the Brit squadrons were allowed to have their guns harmonised while Pilot NCOs were stuck with the guns parallel.
Also the Poles were more focussed, their country had been laid waste and they hated the Germans for it to the point the they would target German aircrew after they had baled out.
tpsossff 1 year ago
ok, just to clear things up...
HailSatan411 1 year ago 13
@HailSatan411
I am intigued by your last comment that he committed suicide. Must research this. I wonder if he spoke English or Polish, if he did not and only knew enough to follow orders he must have had a very lonely war without the support that most warriors get from their comrades.
If that was the case it must have been awful for him.
tpsossff 1 year ago
@tpsossff he was definitely close to his squadron members. he made the decision to fly with the 303 himself. the suicide part is only speculated. many people said he had a dark side that he kept buried within.

@HailSatan411
On his third sorte of the day he had simply forgotten to switch on his oxygen and passed out at altitude.
tpsossff 1 year ago
@tpsossff JF was with the polish on his apply... for him it was easier to fight his "lonely" war. Not to mention some sort of mess in which apparently was the Czechoslovak army leadership in that time...
deabajo 1 year ago
@HailSatan411 Interesting..... I have never read anywhere they knew why he crashed... reasons were maybe fatigue or impressing his girlfriend with tricks.. is there proof he actually commited suicide. I also read more about him. and he was considered hard to work with and very insubordinate towards officers. It also must be said he placed his aircraft over Kent... where he could get straglers... you make the call.. easy kills.. or hard earned kills.. no disrespect.. but was he really that good
JuergenGDB 1 year ago
@JuergenGDB impressing girlfriend was not definately the case as he crashed into the protective wall on the airfield during the landing...
Regarding his placing aircraft over Kent, this is sort of legend... he would not shot down He-111 over the Buckinham palace doing that...
deabajo 1 year ago
@HailSatan411 WTF you talking about ... he did not commit suicide ... The case is unconfirmed that it was pilot error due to the fact of sheer exhaustion , trying a manouevre that was beyond his Hurricane capabilities outside his girlfriends house or a plane malfunction.
