I would much rather have this guy than obama any day of the week... hell, I would rather have a pile of used rubbers than obama. Bush was bad but this scab of a man obama is the president now and he is a liar and a war-monger.
Idiocracy was made in 2006 and in the process, Mike Judge correctly predicts a day when Congressmen would heckle Presidential addresses. The September 2009 joint session address by President Obama featured the 'You Lied' outburst by Congressman Joe Wilson of South Carolina. When the hecklers from 1:08 identified themselves as being from South Carolina, I thought of the Joe Wilson moment. PS: I am Republican leaning, so don't get the wrong idea over this observation being an attack on the GOP.
@cousincreep Awesome observation. I would like to know how you feel about this, seeing that you are right leaning. Do you think that President Obama deserved that or was the Congressman being a bit overzealous?
@09fredo It would be a cop out if I said Obama deserved the spat from Wilson, but I would say both - Wilson was being impulsive, and Obama at that time was delivering several addresses with so many half-truths, it was only a matter of time before someone would crack. It wasn't the correct forum for saying out-loud 'You Lied" at that precise moment, but it it was subsequently proven that the policy Wilson called Obama out on was eventually proven true. Not that anyone cared at that point.
President Obama is like any politician- he has his strengths and his flaws. The idea that any black or mixed-race President is going to be of this nature is a 100-year old racial prejudice, not reality.
the way people are commenting in here, makes "Coneheads" seem like a movie about illegal immigration policies. it doesnt matter who you vote for. all politicians are the same. they only want to make themselves and the people that paid for them to be elected money. whether republican or democrat, they are all the same thing: Politicians. anyone can be a politician, it's easy, tell people what they want to hear, get elected, do the opposite of what you told everyone.
A Republican who really doesn't understand this movie posted this. You're the idiot who's littering your DNA all over the planet, and you vote Republican!
I voted for Obama and live more than 70 miles from any large black population. Where I live, the median price for a single family home is 1.75 million dollars (for a modest 2 bed 2 bath). I consider myself and my neighbors to be intelligent and hard-working. There's no old money here. For those of you complaining about Obama, you don't seem to understand that Idiocracy is how we see YOU.
This movie isn't just anti-corporate or anti-socialist. It uses the worst of both worlds.
As a software engineer I learned that tightly-coupled systems that grow to depend on each other too much make them large and unwieldy. A change in one part of the system usually forces a ripple effect of changes in other parts.
A government and private sector that wholly depend on each other just to get something done is a real life example of over-engineering. If only computer scientists run the world...
Joe Wilson (republican) is who is famous for interrupting Obama. Most prophetically ironic here is that he did so 3 years after this film was released and was actually from SOUTH CAROLINA... so if having a black president is the only parallel you see here we are already living in idiocracy
Well, after seeing Perry's performance in the debates you may be right about our idiocractic presidential future. But frankly, Obama is the adult in the room.
I think bipartisan politics is doing more damage than any other major problem we are facing right now, but I love watching the jackasses take it up the ass. They are way more likely to cry than the dumbos. The dumbos are so used to it from entire networks like comedy central, so they just ignore the jackasses. but when a dumbo makes a good joke about the jackasses, there's going to be tears and more than a few tender anuses, and that's worth a laugh.
So your saying that we would be better off with bushes north america plan that would join us with mexico and canada? Making $1us dollar with only 10 cents?
Obama inherited all this stupid nonsense from 8 years of Republican fail. But sure, you can blame it on him. He's a black guy. White people love to blame shit on black guys.
@HollyBee9000 still playing the race card and blaming bush to defend your economically illiterate , leftist socialist president? Go ahead reelect him and turn america into a 3rd world banana republic
i would love to see it since i'm not american anyway, i'm german, we may have many problems but a nigga ain't one
If you can't tell the difference between the Obama administration and this video, then I'm shocked your monkey-brained ass can use a computer to post this.
@fistacuff56 Yeah, I think you misunderstood my original post. I was making reference to the moron who posted this video, who thinks the president in Idiocracy is exactly like Obama. I wasn't saying the film was released in response to Pres. Obama's administration.
@bengraven obama is black this guy is black and if comancho was running, some people would vote for him without thinking twice too... Thats the problem, most obama voters dont know ass about the issues or our govt. Comancho couldnt top obamas lies and war mongering if he tried. this movie is more like current events than the future.
I could get into the debates already going on here, about whether it's government's fault, corporations' fault, or both, that we're actually headed toward idiocracy.
But the truth is, if the majority of the population CHOOSES (each individual alone) to be aware, self-sufficient, and (for the lack of a better term) - smart, then no government nor corporation can fool anyone. INDIVIDUAL decisions (en masse) make more of a difference than anything else. But that's tough ...
@juli1100 Every opportunity because far too many are clueless and distracted from sports to Dancing with the Stars. Enough of that mindless tripe. Look around. There's a reason why it's all falling apart, everyone's obsessed with their idiot boxes.
Not all corporations are corrupt. A corporation is a legal entity created by government. Business is not bad. But when business and government get in bed together that is where the trouble starts.
@jdp8883 Not all corrupt but their very purpose, profit, is antithetical to what is best for mankind because it is consumptive and does not rest until it has everything. The greed of its executives-and even more importantly their shareholders (who comprise the elite - they own the vast majority of all publicly-traded stocks), they must have more, more more. It's not enough to have a billion, then they want 10 billion, then a 100 billion. More more more. And corporations are the perfect vehicle.
hmm, despite obama being an intelligent and well spoken man, what you've understood from the scene is that both men are black, so that's what your country has come to?
I'm sorry, I was going to say this guy will make a great Tea Party candidate, but right then there was a super-imposed picture of Obama, hahaha! Nicely done.
You do not know presidents, prime ministers, and all other diplomats from ex Yugoslavian countries. The movie Idiocracy is about them. It is based on true story. Arround 95% of the movie is representing montenegrian policy and leaders.
@ sundaydriver75........you are absolutely right. What in the world would corporatism have to do with GM, Chrystler, and wall street bank BAILOUTS have to do with Obama. They were all bailed out by taxpayers because the Govt. deemed them "too big to fail".
Obama also raised more corporate money than any president in history during his campaign. GE (obama's largest campaign contributor), hasn't had to pay taxes either. Coincidence?
You're right, no similarities at all to the movie.
@rocketmansniper for those with eyes to see and ears to hear...to the rest, leave them by the way side. There's no time now to try to wake up the comatose idiots.
the best thing about this movie is that it didnt get a proper theatre release because american test audiences just didnt get it. Mike judge: the king of irony.
I would laugh, but Idiocracy reminds me way too much of our current state of affairs. Every election, we just elect more idiots into office that have no idea how to run a country.
@BCE42906 I disagree, BCE. The jabs at corporate America are blatant in this film, and is actually a good reason why this movie didn't get a proper release in theaters. Starbucks has been turned into a brothel, Costco's new slogan is "I love you," they're using Gatorade to water the plants and is the only thing you can drink out of a water fountain. Their world is ruled by corporations! @munkeeguy Sure, there's more to this movie than just the dangers of a plutocracy, though.
Obama is Albert Einstein compared to George W. Bush. And this IS a satire on the direction of our society. But it is also a big slam to the corporatism of every part of our lives. Our politicians should be forced to wear the corporate logo of the multi-nationals they actually represent.
Idiocracy is about the dangers of corporatism. This is largely lost on most people who manipulate this film to fit their narrow world views. It's almost ironic how you think this has anything to do with Obama.
@munkeeguy Or screaming, "Obama is a socialist" it goes both ways, really. It's our job as citizens to always strive to become better informed on all the issues and to use multiple sources for where we get our information.
There is a deeper point to the movie and you are missing it. Intelligent, hardworking, responsible people arent having babies. Just look around you, you'll see its true.
@sundaydriver75 Indeed, and guess what corporation is behind the current president...
Teleprompters are a sign of weakness, can't even find his own words? Sad. Very appropriate the entire film. Almost like a prediction, if it goes on that way. Money rules, therefore you BUY your policy, you don't elect it any more.
well, if you think Obama has done anything to change anything about "corporatist" United States... you are seriously deluded...
but keep telling yourself that he has done so much... and I will think to myself about how he is merely Bush sprayed down with some heavy duty tan-in-a-can...
@sundaydriver75 One of the purposes of this movie is to show how the media and entertainment industry have been affecting our values. We now live in a country in which our President insults and 'burns' other politicians and references television stars. This country values image over hard work, (aka, how a man who doesn't have that much experience was easily carried to the top by his cabinet).
Regardless of your thoughts on Obama, this movie has a lot of truth and everyone should admit to it
@sundaydriver75 And by the way, most people who can't evaluate the relevance between Camacho and Obama, but feel as though this is an insult to him are probably not worth mentioning, because they're seeing this movie and the actions of Camacho in 'black and white', if you know what I mean
@sundaydriver75 I thought it was to do with how the world is going to shit due to the sheer amount idiots procreating and people with a modicum of intelligence realise that having children isn't something to take lightly.
"Idiocracy is about the dangers of corporatism. ... It's almost ironic how you think this has anything to do with Obama."
It's ironic how you think corporatism has nothing to do with Obama. Read for example: "MATT TAIBBI: How Obama sold out America" (search for it online)
@ccd101 so, hes just like a republican, selling out the country for a quick buck, wait, that pretty much covers the bulk of our senate and house..... bunch of wankers who sell the rest of us down the river for some of that sweet corporate lovin......
"so, hes just like a republican, selling out the country"
Yep, but the republicans didn't advertise with "CHANGE"!
Obama's "change we can believe in" is that he promised change but then CHANGEd his mind, to continue the sell-out. (Actually, not even that is a change, because continuing the sell-out was his plan from the start.) In one word: a total FRAUD.
@ccd101 he came up with this movie standing in line at disney land with his 2 daughters watching a mom and daughter fight and cuss each other out.than that what made him think ...what would happen if idiots were the only ones having babies.u gotta get ur story straight.and yah it has alot to do with obama.i will list 4 ya.1st hes black.2nd obama got the job because of the news media.all started with him in a lake with his shirt off(remember).he was a nobody and now hes the man.
@LFTeyeSEVERN It has nothing to do with Obama. The movie was completed in 2005 (the theatrical debut was long delayed), and Obama didn't come into the spotlight until he announced his presidential candidacy in 2007. Any similarities you see between him and the film are coincidental.
@GreenCharles The similarities he sees between this movie and Obama is because he's black and Comanche is black. That's it. The rest of it is his racist imagination.
So... movie with a black man as president= Obama. I'm surprised he didn't just use the Chris Rock movie Head of State...
@sundaydriver75 If that was the intention of the film, they botched it entirely. The only thing keeping "society", let alone the human race alive in this film are the services of the corporations.
@sundaydriver75 Idiocracy is about the dangers of of dumbing down our society. Corporatism is a symptom of that. People are losing the ability to think clearly. Look at the debt deal. People are being told there will be spending cuts and no taxes but the realty is no cuts and Trillions in new taxes on the poor and middle class. We are becoming the corporation and incarceration nation because the Republicrats rig our elections and sell us down the river. Ron Paul 2012
I would much rather have this guy than obama any day of the week... hell, I would rather have a pile of used rubbers than obama. Bush was bad but this scab of a man obama is the president now and he is a liar and a war-monger.

Fucking walk out before the american people to a bitchen' rock tune n' shit. I would totally love obama and forget his abject failures if he did that.

the best thing about this movie is that it didnt get a proper theatre release because american test audiences just didnt get it. Mike judge: the king of irony.

Or maybe the audience DID get it, but didn't like to see the future as it is...

@munkeeguy Sure, there's more to this movie than just the dangers of a plutocracy, though.
sundaydriver75 1 year ago 25
@sundaydriver75
Corporate America is not the primary stab. But it certainly is one of them.
xlerosx 1 year ago
Obama is Albert Einstein compared to George W. Bush. And this IS a satire on the direction of our society. But it is also a big slam to the corporatism of every part of our lives. Our politicians should be forced to wear the corporate logo of the multi-nationals they actually represent.
Disciple1000 1 year ago 2
Idiocracy is about the dangers of corporatism. This is largely lost on most people who manipulate this film to fit their narrow world views. It's almost ironic how you think this has anything to do with Obama.
sundaydriver75 1 year ago 82
@sundaydriver75
Its about more than that, its about how a dumbed down populace can be easily taken advantage of by corporatism.
But look at the "Brawndos got what plants crave" scene, its like Obama supporters chanting "Hope... change... its all Bushs fault."
munkeeguy 1 year ago
@munkeeguy Or screaming, "Obama is a socialist" it goes both ways, really. It's our job as citizens to always strive to become better informed on all the issues and to use multiple sources for where we get our information.
sundaydriver75 1 year ago
@sundaydriver75
There is a deeper point to the movie and you are missing it. Intelligent, hardworking, responsible people arent having babies. Just look around you, you'll see its true.
munkeeguy 1 year ago
@sundaydriver75 this is a satire on society, not a slam on corporate america...you really don't get it

@sundaydriver75 - oh, I don't know - how about the Teleprompter? or... that people were stupid enough to vote fo' dat foo'... now that's irony.
SonofOrangeCounty 1 year ago
@SonofOrangeCounty What's wrong with using a teleprompter? Presidents have speech writers too.
sundaydriver75 1 year ago
@sundaydriver75 - nothing... we were discussing the similarities between the current admin and the Idiocracy
SonofOrangeCounty 1 year ago
@sundaydriver75 Indeed, and guess what corporation is behind the current president...
Teleprompters are a sign of weakness, can't even find his own words? Sad. Very appropriate the entire film. Almost like a prediction, if it goes on that way. Money rules, therefore you BUY your policy, you don't elect it any more.

@sundaydriver75 well in the movie the president was black, and obama is black so its the same thing right? i hope you can smell my sarcasm.
gymrat7847 1 year ago
@sundaydriver75
It's a spin-off of "The Marching Morons" which has nothing to do with the dangers of corporatism. *You're* the one reading your ideology into it.
Corporatism didn't make trailer trash breed and breed while keeping productive people from breeding (as asserted in the movie's intro).
Hiraghm 11 months ago
well, if you think Obama has done anything to change anything about "corporatist" United States... you are seriously deluded...
but keep telling yourself that he has done so much... and I will think to myself about how he is merely Bush sprayed down with some heavy duty tan-in-a-can...
MrSpemat 11 months ago
@sundaydriver75 One of the purposes of this movie is to show how the media and entertainment industry have been affecting our values. We now live in a country in which our President insults and 'burns' other politicians and references television stars. This country values image over hard work, (aka, how a man who doesn't have that much experience was easily carried to the top by his cabinet).
Regardless of your thoughts on Obama, this movie has a lot of truth and everyone should admit to it
m180322 9 months ago
@sundaydriver75 And by the way, most people who can't evaluate the relevance between Camacho and Obama, but feel as though this is an insult to him are probably not worth mentioning, because they're seeing this movie and the actions of Camacho in 'black and white', if you know what I mean
m180322 9 months ago
@sundaydriver75 I thought it was to do with how the world is going to shit due to the sheer amount idiots procreating and people with a modicum of intelligence realise that having children isn't something to take lightly.

"Idiocracy is about the dangers of corporatism. ... It's almost ironic how you think this has anything to do with Obama."
It's ironic how you think corporatism has nothing to do with Obama. Read for example: "MATT TAIBBI: How Obama sold out America" (search for it online)
ccd101 9 months ago
@ccd101 so, hes just like a republican, selling out the country for a quick buck, wait, that pretty much covers the bulk of our senate and house..... bunch of wankers who sell the rest of us down the river for some of that sweet corporate lovin......
AshenTech 8 months ago
@AshenTech
"so, hes just like a republican, selling out the country"
Yep, but the republicans didn't advertise with "CHANGE"!
Obama's "change we can believe in" is that he promised change but then CHANGEd his mind, to continue the sell-out. (Actually, not even that is a change, because continuing the sell-out was his plan from the start.) In one word: a total FRAUD.
ccd101 8 months ago
@ccd101 naa hes made a change, rather then a rich white guy screwing us, its now a rich black guy screwing us!!!!
change is grand!!!
AshenTech 8 months ago
@ccd101 he came up with this movie standing in line at disney land with his 2 daughters watching a mom and daughter fight and cuss each other out.than that what made him think ...what would happen if idiots were the only ones having babies.u gotta get ur story straight.and yah it has alot to do with obama.i will list 4 ya.1st hes black.2nd obama got the job because of the news media.all started with him in a lake with his shirt off(remember).he was a nobody and now hes the man.
LFTeyeSEVERN 8 months ago
@LFTeyeSEVERN It has nothing to do with Obama. The movie was completed in 2005 (the theatrical debut was long delayed), and Obama didn't come into the spotlight until he announced his presidential candidacy in 2007. Any similarities you see between him and the film are coincidental.
GreenCharles 8 months ago
@GreenCharles The similarities he sees between this movie and Obama is because he's black and Comanche is black. That's it. The rest of it is his racist imagination.
So... movie with a black man as president= Obama. I'm surprised he didn't just use the Chris Rock movie Head of State...
dafedge2007 7 months ago
@sundaydriver75 If that was the intention of the film, they botched it entirely. The only thing keeping "society", let alone the human race alive in this film are the services of the corporations.
MrMagniloquentia 8 months ago
@MrMagniloquentia
But it was the fault of the corporations who ran all of humanity into the ground in the first place.

@sundaydriver75 Idiocracy is about the dangers of idiocy.
shihonage 6 months ago
@sundaydriver75 Idiocracy is about the dangers of of dumbing down our society. Corporatism is a symptom of that. People are losing the ability to think clearly. Look at the debt deal. People are being told there will be spending cuts and no taxes but the realty is no cuts and Trillions in new taxes on the poor and middle class. We are becoming the corporation and incarceration nation because the Republicrats rig our elections and sell us down the river. Ron Paul 2012
