  • Thank you this was very helpful! its like the first video that has actually helped me!

  • That does not look like an electric guitar.

  • I honostly find this easier then the G chord...nice video!!!!!

  • when you learn it dont mute with the thumb, dont complicate it :)

  • Try clipping your nails. I kept muting then I clipped my nails and hit it immediately.

  • i keep muting the e

    :'(

  • me before this video : i must get the d chord to sound good!

me after this video : *gives up guitar*

  • GAAAAh. I can't do this.

  • why cant i get that nice clear sound? mines just a low buzzy sound.... help?

  • @cahil123456 try to play each of the 3 frets by themselves simultaneously. They need to sound clear for the chord to ring clearly. If each string is not ringing clearly than try moving your fingers closer to the frets and press down. Repeat until each string rings clearly by themselves and than play them all together.

  • @quelms100 oh tnx

  • Index Finger 3rd String 2nd Fret

Middle Finger 1st String 2nd Fret

Ring Finger 2nd String 3rd Fret

  • I use to have the same problem with this chord so I left it alone for a while and just played other chords... a while later I tried playing the D chord again and I found it possible.

  • I can't seem to get the echoy sound... I play the chord and it just kinda stops...

  • I guess practice makes perfect but how come sometimes I tend to mute the first string? I am just wondering if there are any ways around this?

  • thank for helping me

  • how the fuck am i supposed to do this shit...

  • @drumXskate practice

  • @drumXskate i no its hard i cant get it either

  • @nathankir i broke my little finger twice this morning when practicing

  • I can't play the D chord without muting the first string. I think my hands are too small.

  • This is hard for me because I have tiny hands o-o I can get D out perfectly fine, but I'm learning a strumming pattern for a song, so I try to mute the 6th and 5th string, but when I do, my hand shifts since they're so small. I then mess up the D. Same with a C chord.

  • fucker...........i cant do this.

  • shitty

  • the D chord is my favourite, its just so fun to switch from any chord to it, and out of all the open chords, it sounds the best.

  • d chords suck

  • NO MATTER HOW HARD I TRY I NEVER CAN DO A D CHORD

  • @imsessyful dude me too D:

  • No matter how hard or lightly I push down with my index finger on that damn string it won't play! I've tried to play a D chord for hours and just can't do it, always sounds like I'm dead strings.

  • Thanks you soooooooo much!!!!! :)

  • @dcalauscanltd you know maybe the reason why they give out lessons for free is beacuse they want to give other people like me a chance at the guitar. People that dont have the money, like me. I am already paying for expensive piano lessons and i cant afford guitar too so i use youtube

  • @156bleach Hello

And as i have only had mine 2 weeks,How you finding it

  • @HELLO2YOU3 its actually alrite. i posted that message while ago back back when i had my guitar for like a week. but, im better now and i can play basic chords and a couple of rock songs :)

  • should explain the notes in the chord rather than just show the fingering... it's far more important imo.

For anyone who wants to know, the 3 notes in this chord are A, D, and F# (or Gb). You can play these three notes with each other anywhere on the fretboard and it'll sound good/ be a D triad.

  • Lmao, I totally forgot how I learned all the open chords but I mastered them pretty well O.o

  • thanks soo much !

  • i thought u werent going to move up the camera lol

  • wahhhhhhhhh

    this chord is so difficult,,

i cant even put my damn finger on the right spot,,,

  • Comment removed

  • ǝɯosǝʍɐ

  • I know. My mom told me about that.

  • Thanks xoxox

  • Ya, I know.. Like totally idiotic to go online and get something for free that you'd otherwise have to pay serious amounts of money for. What are they thinking?!

  • than ya gunna wanna

  • wow i'm alot more familiar with the chords now,now i need to know what sharps and flats are and how to play them.Anybody know how???

  • finally a simple chord! very nice!

  • thanks .

  • For some reason, I find this chord is hard to play loudly on an acoustic without making it sound like crap. Compared to the G and D7 chords for example. Any tips on how to strum it correctly?

  • im having the same trouble

  • I find this the hardest chord to play for some reason

  • thanks bitch

  • I find it hard to use my thumb to mute the two strings.

  • Don't force it it's anatomical. There are two types of thumbs those that lean back and make an L shape and those that can lean forward.

I can make a 90 degrees backwards. But as far as forward motion goes it's crap. So I don't mute.

  • thanks for the tip:)

  • i dont understand this. they have completely changed the look of this harp

  • this chord sucks, i cant get my first finger off the first string. my hands cramping up. lol

  • d chord suckss.. i cant play it correctly until now..i dont know what was wrong

  • i swear this is not just a electric guitar.... is it a Semi-acoustic guitar?

  • Thanks !!!***

  • Can someone help me..? i got a question. what is the difference between playing chords on the electric or acoustic guitar? i thought it is the same, isn't it..?

  • Yes, all the chords are the same on the acoustic &electric.

  • thank you :)

  • No problem. xD

  • But there is many diffent way to play the chords on, and it not allways you play a D chords like that on electric guitar. But, its the same.

  • i swear he is not using eletric guitar

  • Good..thanks

  • if it sounds really bad your not holding them down hard enough or your fingers are slightly hitting some of the rong strings you just want your knuckles upp not laying across the strings either or it will also mute the sound on some strings

  • I am a biginer and I have no idea how to play the guitar..

I hold down the frets with the right fingers, but when I hold them down and play it, it sounds really bad. The tuning is fine because I learned how to tune it. Am I holding it down too hard? Please help me..

  • are you using the exact tips of your fingers? It sounds better if you do. Maybe you're bumping other strings with your fingers, which n=can be improved by using the tips also. If not, I don't know how to help

  • I had the same problem! Do you have an cheap guitar??? if its cheap and crap so its hard to press the frets....

  • But you're still a good teacher..=)

  • WHERE'S TOM? I WANT TOM!!!

  • I am a beginner and can anyone tell me how to change the chords quickly and effectively ?

  • Practice (:

  • U need practice and a lot of it. I can play the chords quickly but not really fast u need to practice until ur comfertable enough to play a little w/ the chords u learn.

  • I started with power chords first.

  • Thank you very much......

  • THANGYOO MAN

  • Hey, I got a question.

You have to hold hard on the ferts to make the sound come out right?

  • no jus make sure they are firm enough

  • THank u

  • haha thanks i had a dumb moment their and i forgot how to play the D

  • Thanks so mcuh for posting this! I'm really just startikng, and everything is simple and easy to foloow :)
