More than likely, the SNES version. There were actually 3 versions of the game and all of em are different from each other.

This game is actually a pretty good fighter for the NES, the controls are responsive and its as good as a NES fighter gets.

the thing with the body of cour character disappearing is probably due to a bad rom. I have the actual game and that has never ever happened to me :S

and yeah, the turtles fighting withour their weapons is really weird, but they do have som personal attacs. But that really doesnt matter in 2p mode, whoever choose Shredder wins.. man, he's overpowerd as all hell.

Both SNES and Genesis versions are completely different from each other. However, the SNES version is clearly the best of all the three while the Genesis version is the worst.
