Oh, and I forgot to mention, the wikia says that they are, contrary to popular belief, NOT a member of Kirby's species. :D

Nobody actually knows what they are! XD

They are called Batamon, they bear a very close resemblance to Kirby, except that they are slightly flatter and their facial features are more spread out. They are a near pointless enemy, guarding areas Kirby can't reach in-game, and this secret area is the only place you can come into direct contact with one.

While you're able to defeat batamon in the other places that they are in, this is the only time you can use direct contact on them.

yes, in most other levels, there is a wall between u and batamon, so u often need moves like Spark+Pitch so that u can turn pitch into an RC Bird and fly him through the walls and stuff.
