@lucy9359 Well I live in Vancouver, and yes it's a huge issue here. However "overdose" death rates have dropped 35% ever since the 'Insite' has opened. It's also helped reduce the spread of diseases. The streets are now cleaner with less discarded needles, so YES the insite is GOOD and it's helping; because they do offer addiction consuling.

I think Harper's position on the question posed were clear and justified.
The point with marijuana was that it would then be more accessible to teen. And the problem is not much about the health problem caused by marijuana but more about the social aspect of it. Tobacco and alcohol were more common a lot earlier so it's a different business.

Why didn't the interviewer a) challenge his assertions, ever? And b), why didn't they try to get him to answer all the questions in both languages? @lucy9359 Well I live in Vancouver, and yes it's a huge issue here. However "overdose" death rates have dropped 35% ever since the 'Insite' has opened. It's also helped reduce the spread of diseases. The streets are now cleaner with less discarded needles, so YES the insite is GOOD and it's helping; because they do offer addiction consuling.

I think Harper's position on the question posed were clear and justified.
The point with marijuana was that it would then be more accessible to teen. And the problem is not much about the health problem caused by marijuana but more about the social aspect of it. Tobacco and alcohol were more common a lot earlier so it's a different business.

Why didn't the interviewer a) challenge his assertions, ever? And b), why didn't they try to get him to answer all the questions in both languages? Harper has a tendency to try to con people by saying one thing in English and another in French. Very weak interview, cause people asked some tough questions, but the interviewer really dropped the ball and basically allowed him to advertise his views, unchallenged, to the public.

Listening to this again... on the topic of criminal justice... 'the punishment' should fit the crime, but why does the punishment have to be a) time in jail/prison b) house arrest/community service? These are loopholes, and proven to NOT help society for the most part. Crime in North America is NOT on the decrease. We need to think of new, or rethink our, solutions to crimes as a society. So we actually reduce, and hopefully prevent crimes and not continue sweeping criminals under a rug.

Peut-être que s'il arrêtait de se prendre pour le Pape du peuple canadien, il pourrait devenir utile... mais présentement, il est simplement inutile!

@NecromortisQc En fait, les conservateurs détiennent une minorité, ce qui signifie que la plupart des gens n'ont pas voté pour eux, ils avaient simplement plus de voix que d'autres parties. Chaque pays a ses connards idiots (comme vous par exemple), mais la plupart des Canadiens sont de bonnes personnes. Je ne dis pas le Québec, je suis juste la défense de notre merveilleux pays. It's not perfect, but as far as countries go, ours is pretty damn nice.
