Aretha made me SO SO MAD when this one first aired. WE HAVE HEARD HER SING CHAIN OF FOOLS A BILLION TIMES! Why she always avoids singing her songs from the 80's and 90's still puzzles me. They should have sang Sisters Are Doin It For Themselves! Thats what people would expect her to perform with Annie after all these years. What if she were to do another surprise duet maybe with George Michael what will they sing, Natural Woman. Come on miss franklin let us hear something else for a change.

randy - Aretha and Annie have a history of performing together and they have had great rapport before - as you know Aretha has had health problems and I think that bears on what looks like not liking Annie in this concert. Do a search on YouTube for other performances with them Just an observation!

The two divas clearly didn't have rapport. Aretha was not at her best, she didn't seem to enjoy sharing the stage with Annie. Annie was straining, her voice lacked soul. A better duet was the one between Aretha and Mariah. That was a real duet, with matching rapport. Mariah did her best then and there to sound soulful enough and wasn't straining. Aretha was a lot better then and there than in this duet. Probably because she liked Mariah and felt that she needed to give a great performance...
