i love the sound when she touches the side of the piano to quiet it for the start of horses. i hear that sound so many times during her first few albums.. and those little clicks at the start of Boys for Pele, the random hisses, her breathing, the sound of spit on her lips when she sings the words "baker baker" on Under the Pink. can't explain why i love those noises so much, they just feel so organic. i miss them, those little details are "cleaned up" on her albums now.
This is footage from the Dutch musicprogram "2 Meter Sessies" with Jan Douwe Kroeske. They have been making some amazing musicrecordings since 1987. If you look for "tori amos 2 meter sessies" you will find more like this :)
Such a beautiful song on its own but with hints of Fool on the Hill..one of my favourite beatles tunes...its just heaven. And love that sweater!!! *glee*
God, this has always been one of my favourite songs of hers but this takes it to a whole new level *0* that's one of the things I (and probably many others) love about her : how she lets her songs evolve and they're never quite the same.
No, it wasn't. It was a reply to superflipp. Go to the 2nd page, and read his comment, which was a reply to elkejusttori's comment. :) And anyway how you learned didn't depend on Tori's teaching skills. I don't know what tutor she will be like. The only thing I know that she doesn't teach her daughter how to play on the piano for some reason. (I heard her saying this in an interview.)
Sorry, I'm gonna get Tori crazy. Anyway, she did not want to teach tash to play when she was three, and she could not find a piano instructor who would teach such a young age. So, Tori put on a béret, and became Ms. Paris.
The interview this is from was Tori with Ryan Seacrest. Anyway, it is a EXTREMELY FUNNY interview; I love Tash. She will be an amazing woman someday.
Because unfortunately, most of the people who buy records are idiots, and the music industry is a soulless machine that doesn't care about art or talent. But if it's any consolation, I understand completely where you're coming from: BFP is absolutely one of the most brilliant works that I've ever heard, and this is coming from someone who studies and is absolutely obsessive about music.
Yes, that's all very true. Looking at the Grammy nominations this year, you'd never know we had the amazing musical output that we did. I'm glad to hear some praise for BFP. I remember hearing somewhere that a musical analysist is planning to write an entire book on the album. Hopefully it does it some justice.

It means that she is fantastic. You should also learn how to spell and use the English language properly. The word is supposed and you said "supose" which is incorrect. Your must be a third grader or just plain dumb.
And actually I have dyslectie and I'm not English! I sit in the fourth class of VWO here, and thats the highest niveau of school in my country, so I'm certainly nog stupid!
this has always been on of my favorite songs by her. when i do photography of landscapes i have this playing in my ear from my ipod. i wish i could put this version of it in there. do you know where i can find a downloadable mp3 of this version? i am about to go to england to do a photography project and this would be perfect!
I agree with others...Tori seems more sedate and less frenetic/passionate now. Maybe it's the inevitable effects of being a mother.

why isn't BFP, and Tori herself, about 50,000 times more revered by the general music industry?
