Why do you need the boats on the roof?

@firebomb428 so you can exit the road. when you leave the moving boat, you just right click on the boats on the ceiling to 'teleport' into them, then right click again and you're on top of the glass roof

The boat pushes up against the bottom of the ladder to stop it form bouncing, thats why you need ladders and thats also why you want the boat to push against the right/left side of the road (where the ladders are)! :D

I like the concept of EATS a lot, especially how easy it integrates with the water elevators, which still need a little design work at the top so people can get off easily without falling.

That said, track segments for EATS are both more complex and larger than an equivalent two way minecart track. In a true map-wide transit system track is the thing you build most, so this led me to choose minecarts for my subway option.

@Wolf555Hound they worked because under a certain amount, like a few hundred, is fine but my grinder used 2700 signs, and signs are one of the most complex minecraft objects. similar thing happens even in second life while using prim signs instead of hover-text with too many of them. its likely just causing lag because of the high number of texture binds (1 per letter slot, whether the slot has a letter or not) or something. if someone acutally know please correct me.

@AdiTetac That kind of makes sense. The game has to fill each slot of the sign with something, even when blank. So when it has to load 2700 signs, and each one of those signs have characters needed to be loaded, it lags huge time. And it has to "remember" what text goes where. Cool, thanks ;D

In the other road instead of signs it seems you've used halfblocks, does that work just as well as they are a 1000 times easier to place due to stacking and not having to hit done each time?

@Largoftw He used pressure plates, not half-blocks. And signs just don't make any noise, I guess that's why.
