Meh, boolean has it's place, but I think this is a great tutorial. I'm still kind of a beginner with good polygon modelling, since most of what I do has to be fast I end up using a lot of primitives and splines and this has really helped me with a lot of things :) thanks for the tut.
This is what I do, make this object with y using the boole object. Then make it editable. Next, select the boole and make IT editable. Then select ALL, right click, CONNECT and there ya go!
Yes, you're right, but in general modeling, the results are unwanted, because it creates triangles and points that otherwise could screw other things up when it comes to texturing. Using a boolean doesn't create a flowing mesh which is what he is trying to show.
could have used a boole obect to do that, but GREAT tutorial! It is really nice to have C4D tuts with a clear voice and someone who doesn't take forever like he is teaching the mentally handicapped..lol.
The boole object can sometimes create unwanted geometry. Also can slow down the system quite a bit if you get complicated with it, but like everything has it's place.
Good trick ) but everyone knows it I guess :) however, thank you for remind me!

Thanks for the feedback guys. Never liked the boolen way of doing things. May have to go back and give it another go.

Its about modeling techniques and making your mesh smooth as possible.
