  • in my country ( philippines ) , my friend ( professional rider ) always tell the group to check everything ,,,, like were in the middle of a ride ( like 30+ riders) he will shout ( check your bikes , cauz were about to show off the people and we will go for 40km/h XDD i loveeeee cycling

  • If the gears are dirty, how should you clean them?

  • It was helpful to me.

  • Kind of like the International Police Mountain Bike Association's "ABC Quick Check" but different.

A = Air, which Dan covers, but you should also check tires for sidewall damage.

B = Brakes. Pretty basic there.

C = Chain, cranks, and cogs. I like Dan's interpretation of 'everything the chain touches.'

Quick = Quick releases: wheels, brakes, seatpost and (for some folding bikes) handlebars and frame hinges.

Check = Check it over - look for loose parts and cracked pieces.

  • cool
