I am a C.O. in a prison, the two most important things inmates want/need/trade for in prison is toilet paper and ramen noodles...the state has commissary for inmates to buy stuff, they can buy dice for less than a buck. but no one in the middle of the month "runs out of dice, tp is not wasted like this...

As for the video, it was one of many ways to make a pair of dice out of limited supplies-- in this case, whatever you have to work with in a prison cell. An interesting way to go about it- cool :)

I can think of a dozen ways to make a more regular die than that. Dry chewing gum, a melted fork, or even cut paper will make better dice, and you can finish it using sandpaper (or a brick wall).
