the real leybra2 you left out rush, saga, kim mitchell , you know bands that were far more recognizable and lasted a lot longer than the bands you mentioned . A kim mitchell power ballad is superior to anything bryan adams could ever dream of writing but since joe public prefer the simple stuff ......
@sharkisland89 , the song is about leaving the Church because it lies to us about who we really are. Religion is in decline and one day we will just be spiritual ... everyone will meditate, everyone will have seen their past lives, everyone will be able to use their psychic gifts that The Creator gave us in the Beginning. No more war, no more poverty/wealth. ... Just Life.
Power song and for anyone who loves this song like I do go buy it off of iTunes is there go hurry! all the song are there I will and talk to me even the other ones that were never posted on YouTube even this one is there so don't miss out go buy it hurry
It's Jeremy Clarkson and James May from Top Gear! LOL, I loved the Canadian 80's bands. I loved the 80's period. The music just seems to have a haunting quality that just sticks in your mind.
@8BALT Now that I think about. You're absolutley spot on! I just wonder if these guys (rock&hyde) were ever popular over in the British Isles. Honestly, this song has such a deep 80's British vibe (my personal opinion). Plus, Hyde is from Yorkshire apparently.
Where can I get a copy of this song. The Payolas turned up negative for me. Why? change your name anyway. ??? This song has a place in music. I just want to be able to play it. I don't own a cell phone.
Most wonderful!!!! Lyrics, music, instrumentals, vocals.....everything! I could repeat it all day! I'm not sure I get the video....the Pope in the bathtub? In dirty water no less. Oh well...I just LOVE the melody...I don't care if the lyrics & video don't make sense. Is it just me or do the swaying bathtub feet creep you out too? I'd have been traumatized if I had seen this as a kid.
My dad used to have this on casette. I still remember listening to this everytime we were in the car. It was always this, tears for fears, springstein or crowded house. 80's was the shit for music. I miss those days.
Jack FM in Regina has been playing this song regularly in recent months. Before that, I bet it was at least 15 years ago I last heard this song. Brings back good memories, even though I was only 8 when this song came out.
The 80's really brought Canadian musicians to the forefront but it wasn't as if they weren't there all along. It was because our neighbours to the south finally decided to open their biased airwaves to real musical talent. Yet, there were a lot of awesome Canucks artists before the 80's came along.
@MyceliaProductions42 so you were born in 1970? I love 80's music, kinda wish I grew up in the 80's so I could listen to it first hand! born in 1991 I only remember late 90's music and up. Now I only listen to 80's and its usually one hit wonders or non popular rock ones like these songs I like the most, just got into some bobby brown and I always liked phil collins!! most new music is shitty compared to 80's, even the 60's, 70's or 90's just dont have what the 80's did!!
I agree with MAXMULHAM...the music scene has been diluted with remixes and covers of bands ..clubs play barely tolerable crap...funny thing though..i fint that alot of 20 something kids seem to be looking back at alot of the music that the 70`s and 80`s even the 60`s...and say "hey!..what the hell have I been missing?"...and how many times have you heard..."i was born in the wrong decade"?..
lol! This is one of my favourate songs from the 80s... but this is my first time watching the video... ... .. . it kind of disapointed me... but its the 80s...
A great great song form Canada. 80's canadian music was the best at that time with other great groups like Glass Tiger, Platinum Blonde, The Box, Honeymoon Suite, Loverboy, just to name a few.
come on bob rock made mettalica suck? i lost respect for them when they said that where were all the kudos for the black album? st anger sucked because of metallica and them only after all who wrote and performed it? nuff said
Ha the long haired blonde guy is Bob Rock. Guy who produced Metallica's black album, and another 6 or so for them. Also did Mötley Crüe's Dr. Feelgood and about 4 other albums, The Cult - Sonic Temple, Bon Jovi's Keep the Faith, Aerosmith, Our Lady Peace, Simple Plan, Offspring, Tragically Hip, and tons more. So yeah this is SO great to see his roots and how he started in the recording industry. he's definitely doing better for himself. Great 80s song here too!
I'm checking out these videos from Eye Eye, Cats Can Fly etc... & I never knew that all these bands that I so loved as a young teenager... They are all Canadian? Wow!. Thank you so much for making my search so much easier. I'm in good company.
Yes! Thank you for putting this up. I had totally forgotten about this. Haven't heard it in 20 years. I think these guys were with the Payola$ at one time.
I'm glad I found this. I thought maybe I dreamed this up. I heard this a few times on the radio in 1987 and liked it. I only heard it a few times before they stopped playing it.
LOL! Half of Rock & Hyde plays the soap rack as a guitar in the guitar solo part! When I was a kid, I used to play guitar with these things [I remember that in the video]!

impossible to enforce..these venues can help to increase sales of artist's older stuff..how would the ever divide up the fines they collect?..they certainly can't keep it for themselves as they would be collecting them for music they have no copyrights for..
This is the kind of stuff you don't hear much on the radio anymore. Truly a time when musicians cared about their art. Alot of internet radio stations play more of the obscure or forgotten stuff.
