I think her voice has a nice maturity to it actually, which is a nice contrast to the younger-sounding original version. I like both very much. ^^

The beauty of having multiple renditions of songs is that you slowly learn to appreciate the subtle differences in voices that you never did before.

The original's voice and style appears to be more powerful and/or practised but I wouldn't count this singer out. If she gets the opportunity to sing this song a few more times, I wouldn't be surprised to see a lot of the negative comments become positive ones.

Huh? Her voice was a little rough for the first few seconds but after that it sounded perfect. I could have been convinced that that it was the original voice, it's extremely close.

@Cainmak While I agree that she's very engaged in her singing, the problem there is that her voice is not a match for Noriko Mitose. She still did a great job singing, but for a lot of people something like this is very iconic, and no one will care for it if it's not as close to perfect as can be.

This is one of the most favorable songs of all time. Radical dreamers, a song meant to touch... Sorry, but the one's who commented negatively are wrong. The way you guys played it was as if I was there. So cozy, warm, heartfelt, and felt like I was in a living room with my friends just chilling to the song. Nothing wrong with it whatsoever. LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVED it!

Before she started singing I was already reading the comments, and you guys made me worry that this would be epically disappointing, and YouTube comments are usually right or at least sway my opinion, but I don't know just WTF you guys are talking about this time. She's fine. Definitely not at the same level as the original, but far from atrocious.

W/ that said, still prefer the original vocalist.

@XTruth I admit the beginning was not as great, but she recovered quite well. She has a vocal ability clearly. Her lows might not be as great, as she doesn't get enough air, but her highs are good to excellent. This is a very difficult song to sing though.

@IchinShek I don't know the lady but I think you guys are being really harsh. If you're a trained guitar player, the guitar (or trained with any other instrument), the result would always be amazing. As long as you don't forget any notes, you're safe.

On the other hand, singing requires many many dimensions, and thus, is harder to do.

I'm not completely defending her singing, as it wasn't the best at all. But the people harshly criticizing her on Youtube probably couldn't do much better.
