I think Peter Colby of Dallas still breeds the dogs. The Colbys are rich folks, they have great dogs, and are not in any hurry to sell dogs. They put buyers on a waiting list then sell when they whim comes up. Their dogs are smart, strong, great all around dogs. Maybee $1000.00 will get you one. In my neighborhood a fellow has one from the source. Awsome doggie! The great old time breeders are disappearing but if you take your time you can find them around.

@fink999 Like I said the Colby folks ain't in it for the money. And truly I have petted their genuine Colby dog. Very sweet strong smart and well mannered pup. I can get one from where they did-Colby-but I like my Sorrells/Klaus' Zeke/Old Eli/Corvino blend that Bert and Joanie have bred for years. Not sure if Bert still breeds or advertises. Never met him face to face or traded with him. I have one of Joanie's dogs. Love her a lot, a classic black and tan. Would not sell her for a million.

If you are looking to contact him he has a facebook under Peter Colby just look for the colby dogs logo with picher and logan on it

almost every pitbull goes back to colby in one way or another. for example, jeep, redboy, chinaman, homer, jocko, tombstone, patrick and the list goes on and on, all these dogs go back to colby dogs and most common colby's dime. there are no dogs alive today that can be considered a colby dog, since you would most likley have to go back 10 or 15 generations to find a true colby dog.

@tsummerlin84 Colbys' use Am-staff lines NOW. But the AKC registered American Staffordshire Terrier came long after the APBT. The AKC American Staffordshire Terrier breed standard was based off of a Colby APBT, who was registered with them. This is why many dogs are duel registered APBT and AST. Because in the beginning, they were the exact same dogs, just registered with different names by two seperate kennel clubs.
