Look closely at the Bible and it's descriptions of god and you soon find some very serious flaws of god. It won't take you long, the Bible is rife with t being who has some MAJOR psychological and sociopathic issues and if god were a human being, than he would have been imprisoned & executed long before he could do anyone more harm. If you must believe in a god fine, but believe in something w/o form or an ego. Something beyond human frailties. Something you can never put words to.
I'm not going to watch this movie, it is clear mr Stein is suffering from a debilitating disease that has a grip over 80% of the world....it is called religion.
I disagree. This movie is at least not "poorly made." I think there is a struggle out there to understand origins. I think almost everyone shares in that search. It seems that we should do a better job teaching the scientific side of this question or else forsake it in government schools all-together. I don't see what the problem is with a movie that asks these questions and implores people to search for answers. You have a problem with the science? Philosophy? What it is?
You can teach religion in a comparative religion class... but you can't teach religion in a science class.
The reason we don't teach I.D. in science class is because its NOT SCIENCE. If it was, then it would have to go through the peer-review process, and if it's considered a valid theory, then it can be taught. I.D. is not peer reviewed, and when it's put under the test of science, it fails. If we teach I.D. in science class, then we can teach holocaust denial.
"The reason we don't teach I.D. in science class is because its NOT SCIENCE."
Actually, I've always agreed with that, but I'm starting to think maybe we should teach it after all. The best way to teach kids what science IS would be to give a perfect demonstrative example of what science is NOT. And I.D. is a perfect example of non-science.
It would teach kids critical thinking and simultaneously help innoculate them against astrology, crystal power, and other pseudo-science nonsense.
In other words, I am agreeing that it is not science, and it is precisely for that reason why it should be shown to them. Most of us laugh at I.D., but kids should be taught exactly WHY it is such a non-scientific joke.
I think that this movie could signal a turning point in the war between modern science and ancient superstition. Which way it turns, it's hard to say. It appears that a significant percentage of the population (the ignorant and delusional) are buying into this movie hook, line and sinker. If the government wasn't so filled with these people, it would be no contest. Science woudl triumph. However, these people have power. A lot of power.

We can't let ignorance and delusion triumph.

Thank you Dave. for getting the comments going.
A hundred years ago it anticipated science and reason would easily triumph over superstition, today we are not so sure.
