Hi I used 3 different mallet choices for this performance. If I can recall correctly, the 1 mallet was the M182 and the inner two mallets (2, 3) were the M183. Those were all the multi-app series mallets. The 4 mallet was either the M163 or M164 (the Giff Howarth Series).
Sorry I deleted your other comment by mistake. Any other performance from this one should be different. I had to modify the piece a little bit to fit the I&E requirements.
Interesting...I can't think of anything specific off the top of my head but I agree. The whole piece is very reminiscent of guitar playing. Kinda reminds me of the theme from Deer Hunter a little bit.
This is sooo cool ! :D I really wanna learn how to double stick too , but I've only been playing for a year :P I'm gonna have to wait a while lol.I have trouble playing a 16th note run at 132 speed with two sticks. I'm gettin a small bell set tomorrow , I'm so excited ! Great Job , you're awesome !
you know why it got 9th, becasue your supose to play none main stream marimba solos and it's that hard to master. Other than that it was played very well and would've gotten best in show at any high school sort of thing
I don't believe that is the reason at all. I am not concerned at all about high school level concerts because this was not one of them...but thanks for the comment
Very nice. Love the personal additions to it. I have the music to this piece myself but unfortunately only had a 4 1/3 octave marimba to play on so I never got the full effect. Nicely done though.
Very well played! Curious though: when you do your own arrangement to get it to fit within the allotted time, do you have to give the judges a copy of your new arrangement or are they scoring only on what they see and hear?
What mallets did you use?

You're very great matt. I am an aspiring percussionist and watching this was very motivating. Your stick heights are very nice and even. Any advice?

Adams does make nice sounding equipment. The keys are rosewood and they sound great. The frames need to be buffed up as far as integrity though.

Thank You! No music has to be given to the judges at all whether it is the original or arranged. They just judge on what they see and hear.

Thanks.
Yeah I had to alter a few things to allow it to fit within 4 min! After a timing it, it was about 3'57''

ya,thats true, it is over 6 minutes.. I like the sound of the lil indapented mallet part..the 1.2.3.3.34 (at lest thats how i stick it)
