  • Arch Hall Jr! I just saw Wild Guitar for the first time last night. and I was amazed. Fender sounds all over the soundtrack_Cash Flagg(Steckler hisself) as "Steak", the evil henchman, Sr. "Call me Mike" as the evil manager...there's gotta be a sountrack to this stuff somewhere. Twang-a-go-go!

  • Arch Hall Jr. rocks! I love THE SADIST! Great movie!

  • Fantastic! Way to go Arch! Thanks for posting!

  • Eegah!

  • OH Poopie...

  • It's Bud Eagle!

Where did I put my Eagle Feather!

  • Arch Hall Jr. did it first!

    I've been a fan of his since 1962. I'm not a movie critic. I'm a musician and actor . I'm UNKNOWN HINSON.

Arch, thank you so much for inspiring me to do what I do..

    All the best.

    UNKNOWN HINSON

  • @007CONROY dig your music,unknown!

  • Arch made great movies way back when. Some are free to watch at the internet archive or nerdytv and maybe there are some at YouTube. His films are public domain. Most of them had music. I am glad he is still going strong.

  • so nice to see him playijng guitar and frontin' a band, Love the sound too! Rock and Roll will never die! (esp 50s R&R!)

  • I'm 24 years old..and being young and seeing the movies they have today and how none of them in the horror genre compare to The Sadist.. He was Amazing in it. and it was one of the greatest movies I've ever seen. He doesn't get credit for being one of the first Psychos. before Jason and Freddy and Myers. there was Sweet Baby Charlie, The Sadist.

  • That is one of the most absolutely awesome things I have ever seen. This has GOT to be the reason the Internet exists.

  • Roxy!!

  • I met Arch Hall Jr....He was really cool to talk to.

  • "Wild Guitar"

Arch Hall Jr. are the king!

  • i bet he drove his dune buggy to the show

    nice guitar playing

  • He was so bad in Eegah he was awesome

  • Go Arch Go!

  • Waaah! Roxy! Waaah!

  • the sadist is on youtube movies

  • That's cool to see :D I like the Eegah songs too, lol.

I rewatched Eegah today. I haven't seen him in anything else yet but I want to.

  • loved him in Eegah!

  • Thanks alot for this video. I have always wanted to know how Arch Hall jr. looked today. Even though he was flying as a pilot for many years, its great to see he still has a taste to perform. Gosh, if i saw him in person somewhere, I probably would not know its him. I am used to the way he looks in his films. I bet he is a nice guy in real life. Again, thanks for this video.

  • hey, i just bought the movie -wild guitars -at the dollar store. killer score.lol

  • cool grandpa!!!

  • cool , Briittney! are You a Member of "GrandPa"s Yahoo Club ???

  • YUP ...Brittney appears to have a inside connection! thats cool!

  • sadly , Arch Hall Jr.'s Friend , Ray Dennis Steckler , died from An Apparent HeartAttack , on January 7th 2009.

  • i remember him in wild guitar, i think he lived in Las Vagas

  • yes. You are correct. He was still a Las Vegas Resident + had a Business (with a Genuine Address + PhoneNumber) when He passed-away recently. He played the Character known as "Steak" in "Wild Guitar" ... also , for Those who are interested , Arch Hall Jr. has a Great YahooClubs Page , that You might wanna join.

  • Wow! I just finished watching Arch Hall Jr. play a nasty psycho in the film called The Sadist! I had no idea that he was a guitar player too! Very cool.

  • Hot Damn! I remember him and gang from the funky old drive-in movies promotions like "sit through all 4 hoodlum teen movies, get in free on Monday night! Ah, great memories, about 10 years old, just gettin' old enough to want Jane Mansfield, "Screaming Mimi" and Bridgette Bardo to "tuck me in."

  • Wow-de-wow-wow!

Nice to see Arch Hall Jr. is still around. ^^

  • i think that is robbie rist you know cousin oliver from the brady bunch playing guitar in the back

  • Despite the startling resemblance, the guitarist is none other than Sean Lally of Pittsburgh's own Teen Riot!

  • "watch out for snakes."

  • heh.

  • This is wonderful!!! So glad MST3K introduced us to Arch Hall Jr. I mean this with highest regards: Arch will always be a cult hero and our "Cabbage Patch Elvis". You sound great! Rock on!!!

  • Way to go Arch! Keep these coming!

  • I wish Nancy Czar could of go-go danced along with the band

  • He still looks the same. That's unfortunate.

  • Yeah, he always was kind of gooney looking. "Cabbage Patch Elvis" is a good description.

  • Please tell me that there is going to be a DVD for sale of the entire show and the introduction!

  • As the drummer of this show, I am hoping the same!!! This, for me, was the show that I could have ended my "career" on, and been happy.

  • I hope the documentary's done right. The big difference between Arch Hall Jr. and Ricky Nelson is that Ricky Nelson had a wealthier dad. Arch is my idol. His CD is a lot of fun too.

  • Hey ya gotta give the guy credit. He's still rockin! I've got his CD too. I recomened any Arch fan pick it up, worth every penny.

  • Does anyone know if that is Alan O'Day on the keyboards?

None of the rest of the group are original Archers, but the group that appeared in Wild Guitar were not those that actually played with Arch either.

  • Yes, that is Alan O'Day on keys! He did a solo version of "Undercover Angel" at the show. Amazing.

  • I glanced at the other members and recognized only Alan as an original. But it has been decades since I saw these guys (hired and promoted them for several gigs shortly after Wild Guitar was filmed)and we've all changed a bit. I suppose the bass player could be Joel Christy who played with original Archers, but looks too young in video.

  • Yup, that's Joel Christie on bass guitar. His youthful appearance belies his wisdom.

  • He also is an accomplished pilot having logged more than 27,000 hours, some of it as a 747 captain. He also participated in the 1975 Cambodian Rice Lift, has impressive FAA certification and scared the shit out of me in The Sadist when I first saw it as a kid back in the late 1960's.

  • I, too watched "The Sadist" on TCM last night/early morning and it was awesome! Totally suspenseful right down to the ending and Arch was fantastic in it. Truly scary and menacing. "Wild Guitar" wasn't bad either. Although it's a totally different movie it really showed Hall's range as an actor. Classic cult cinema, for sure!

  • Just got done watching "The Sadist" on TCM. I can't believe this is the same guy who was the whiny, little twerp in "Eegah". He was fucking scary in this movie!

  • He hasn't aged.

  • Man they swing!

  • Arch Hall Jr. An American original.

  • Not bad from a guy that was in EEGAH.Too bad the next song faded out.Would've like to have heard more.

  • A sadist, a chopper, and a bonafide rocker...

  • More!

  • But...WHERE'S VICKIE? OH VICKIE!

  • Happy birthday Arch !!!!

  • Cabbage patch Elvis!

  • Arch hall JR. Rocks!
