I am independent, and I have voted Republican before. A very small portion of what Palin said about the bridge can even be questioned if you get all the facts. Most of the bridge incident had started and ended before Palin took office, but it had officially been ended during her term. She was always for the most economical solution before and during her term, and she still is. However, she should explain the thanks but no thanks part. That's about all.

The truth is that there was a large overall increase, and she had actually increased funding to Special Olympics by $25K as well. The Special Olympics was not cut. She had only reduced the amount that had been requested for that year, but there was still an increase over the previous year. There is not enough here to say that she is not supportive of special needs.
