I appreciate you guys. This backing tracks are very helpful to the people like myself who are learning jazz by ourselves, not having a live teacher. Thumbs up!!!
I've been playing to this backing track and i must say that i love your jam and finesse!! I wanted to let everyone know that the chords comped by the piano player are: Fm7 > Bb7 > Ebm7 > Ab7. Just in case anyone was wondering. Play on brotha!! :)
I can only improvise vocally, I don't understand the key changes on my piano. How do you know when to change key? Vocally I don't worry about that, i think I just do it naturally. Really cool track by the way.
please send me the tabs for the small guitar lead at the beginning! I am trying to learn it by ear, but Jazz has always been my weak spot. I get lost after the notes reach the D string.
I was trolling youtube looking for jamtracks and this one really got a groove. (coincidently I used to have an old '60s epiphone kind of like your white one. I loved that guit!)
Besides all that... you got a great groove/tone/feel w. your solos. Give us some mo!
Wow, I dream to play like that. I've only been playin for about a year now, and all I played was metal, which is pretty freaking easy to play, but I really want to play like this. What do you recommend I start learning to be able to play kinda like that?
cool intro to how to play some changes
built off minor 7 chord harmony with dorian melody then down whole step repeat
had fun with this
try resolving to a F#maj13 to Bbm6 / F#maj13 to F7 no 5

I see it as playing between Bb Mixolydian and Ab Mixolydian. The bassline makes the chords Bb7sus > B7 > Ab7sus > Ab7. Very nice track by the way!

@fretjamdotcom Sorry, that should be Bb7 not B7!

Ab/Bb Bb7(9) Gb/Ab Ab7(9)
Listen how each tone in the upper structure leads down.....Nice voice leading and looking at this progression it's easy to see the hybrids.(Ab/Bb)
Way to get out there on the modal interchange with your solo/intro.
