I have just ordered the entire dvd set of North an South from Amazon and am looking forward to watching all of them. I had watched this series back in the 80's I think.Also just read Patridk Swayze's book, Time of my Life. He will be missed in the theatherical world. His wife Lisa has had to be strong.,

Patrick Swayze was so young in this scene! He was so handsome and charismatic. You can't help but stare at him. I can't believe he is gone. I will always remember him as an amazing and talented actor.

@thomasmiano So do I;he was very young but handsome.Can't help but watching at him too.He had wonderful eyes and mouth.....So good for a kiss.How lucky actresses have been to play in his arms and give him a kiss....I would have liked to be in their place just for ten minutes.Just for a kiss and hug.Even if in true life he was certainly no perfect,just a man like all men,and he had an alcohol addiction and some imperfections i suppose her wife could accept out of love.But he had charism as actor.

This was just a fabulous show and one of my favorite scenes. This was actually the first scene I ever saw from the show.

This is a good scene, but my favorite is when Orry fights Justin to the death in book 2, and then passionately kisses Madeline.

The blood and sweat and that gray General's uniform ... My God, he was like some kind of superhero. :-)

Omg!! I cant believe I found maybe my most dearest tv series here, thank you sooo much for uploading!! I was 8 years old when this was telecasted in Finland, I thought Madeline was the most beautiful woman on earth, and I loved Orry. Of course my Barbie and Ken were always them..ha ha And those dresses, I was obsessed! At the same time I saw gone with the wind for the first time, for years I draw pictures of ladies dressed like this...aaww and this music, so familiar! <3

I asked for this clip to be uploaded... and here it is. THANKS. Although N&S would have been a VERY short series, it would have been nice for Orry and Madeline if it could have ended at 6:00 into the clip when the ride off together happy and young without all the years of mess that ensued. But then we wouldn't have watched it.
