Nirvana is over rated, (i say this with the fear of being shot... lol) I listen to both bands with an appreciation for both, but to say that Nirvana is better musically is just ignorant. How they are more widely known than Alice in Chains is beyond me, but i'm sure it's because Nirvana was Punk/Grunge, and Chains was more Metal/Grunge, Punk being the more mainstream out of the two.
