Youtube reviews in general have a short shelf life, but the fact that my ideas were relevant enough to carry into the offline for at least one person, that's a huge deal. Thank you! u know when i watch ur vids i take what u say to heart, cuz u actually know wtf ur talking about unlike most critics lol. i agree with u for the most part on stuff and some things i dont. i was hoping cuz ur not a die hard harry potter fan, u were just saying that order of the phoenix was better. and i was hoping cuz this was the last movie ever, the battle would of been bad ass. where the graphics were good and such, U WERE SOOOOOOOOOOOO RIGHT. oftp battle was better.
i'll tell u what i have been confused at harry potter once david yates came aboard. sure all the directors changes stuff and left stuff out, but not like yates. he confuses the crap out of me. he never explain things toooooo well and he leave very important detail out and has it in the movie and wont say what it is. i dont read the books i watch the movies and look stuff up online. and i have to look it up online to find out why this person did this and why harry had a mirror in his sock lol
i didn't get to see this movie, but i feel like this exact thing was happening to me for being a casual fan as well. i kept asking my hubby stuff under my breath and it was just ridiculous how i couldn't follow along as much as i wanted to if i were a better fan. but i still want to see this movie and eventually read the books...
@Chulachulafaraway I WANTED to ask somebody :))) But I couldn't. I have this group of girls that we usually go to stuff like the Twilight movies and the HP movies. Usually when we go to Twilight I make fun of it the whole time. And this time people were like: "Oh, I don't want to sit next to Diana, I won't be able to concentrate". And I was like: "Dude, I won't say anything. I promise". :( So when the movie was on I WANTED to ask my friends about this or that but I promised to stay quiet. :P
It's funny, I love this review, I respect your opinion of course and I understand why you were underwhelmed but I have to disagree one at least one major issue. The deaths! I think by not seeing some of the major deaths, makes the reveals of their demises more tragic. We follow Harry on his epic adventure, have fun watching all this shit go down but when things calm down and we see the casualties of the battle, it hits us harder. Sometimes seeing the aftermath of tragedy is more devastating.
Also, I am not trolling on your video by any means, but I have to disagree with you on Transformers 3, it got very strong towards the middle, but the ending was rushed, and completely unsatisfying, which is not the way to end a series,... this film, while I agree that they could have spent a lot more time showing the characters dying heroic deaths, answered all the questions, completed harry's character arc, and provided a strong sense of closure, something
@fwwaller I never meant to say that Transformers 3 is a better movie or even a better series finale than HP8. No. Besides, we're probably going to get other Transformers movies anyway. My point was that I think it's a tad bit hypocritical to bash Transformers 3, while praising HP8 even though they BOTH have problems. Looking at Rotten Tomatoes, Transformers 3 is not as bad as that 36% seems to indicate, just like HP8 is not as good as that 97%. IMO.
Step back guys, we're dealing with a hideous crime against nature here.
