Trying to attain perfect pitch is just a waste of time that should be spent attaining relative pitch. Perfect pitch and relative pitch are pretty much equal anyways. Good relative pitch is on a par with perfect pitch. Not only that but p.p has some serious disadvantages when it comes to one's aural perception. Mention baroque pitch to a p.p'er you'll see.

Perfect pitch is not trained, it is genetic.... relative pitch, however can be learned.
