Always loved Stephen and his songs, this is one of the finest, and then you h ave Blue as I do and Too many memories, and a lot of other songs. R.I.P Stephen <3
Can anyone tell me the make & model of acoustic-electric guitar Stephen uses in this video? ... sounds great!!
Been a musician & Kris fan since before 'Bobby McGee' days, when KK showed up with this youthful 'pretty-boy' gtr player who played leads impeccably & with such soul. I wondered for years what became of that young picker ... thank God for the internet & YouTube.
And I thank Stephen & his soul for this 'Soul Song'.
The best "Life Coach" and a very cool cat...no way to thank him enough...no way...I WILL be seeing you soon...until then, I keep tryin' to do as you would say and do...I'm tryin'...
@biggestkrisfan ...I think the "best life coach and a very cool cat" is fairly self-explanatory? Then I'm thanking Stephen for his life and music? Never said I played with him, he was a friend of mine. Hope that clears things up. Actually, it was Kris himself who told Stephen when Stephen passed that Kris would "be seeing him down the road, probably sooner than later"...I'm terminally ill, so that made sense to me...any problem with that???
@informalmusic No, sorry, I didn't mean to annoy or bother you at all, it just sounded a bit depressing to me... this one phrase. And if you played with him was nothing else but a question ...I know that Kris said that and it makes me said whenever I hear him speak about "the end of the road", but that's just because I may dream he would live forever...
Just dropped by for this song... Was listening to it on my way home over and over again... it's the only song on my mp3 disc with more than 200 songs that's not sung by Kris... Love it! R.I.P. Stephen.
Beautiful. And what musician/singer wouldn't want to learn this incredible song?! The chords don't seem to be available online. Anyone got them out there?
I also heard Buddy Miller play this song yesterday at the Kate Wolf Festival... Whew!! Stopped me in my tracks with a dart to the heart. Buddy played it with such soul and with great honor and respect for Stephen Bruton, the songwriter. Such is the gift of music, that Bruton's masterpiece lives on through the people he touched with his talent.
I heard this song for the first time yesterday, played by Buddy Miller, and it touched me so much. What a wonderful song. So sad the world has lost a talent like this. So grateful to Buddy for playing this music and keeping it alive.
It's with deep sadness I got the news about TSB death. Since the first time I saw him smiling threw a hole Bonnie Raitt show in Gothenburg Sweden in the early 90', I've been following Stephens music. I been lucky to catch him two times solo in Sweden and once in Austin. He's music and lyrics has made me cry, smile and laugh threw the years. I never got to know him, but he felt like a friend. My sincere condolences to the family and friends of Stephen
