@Wwallace67: No, DNA is not "routinely" used. As a geneticist, out services are requested based on A) the party's ability to pay for it and B) the "need" for it. If the money isnt there, or if a prosecutor does not need it, it will not be done. The Court system is NOT as meticulous as they would have you believe.
