Telly Savalas was excellent in his role as Ernst Stavro Blofeld. I wish he would have been in a few more Bond films! George Lazenby is the most under rated James Bond! An excellent on screen fighter, he could have done more, they offered, but his agent gave him some bad advice, saying cold war spy movies would become passe'. Such is life!
The Sound Quality is absolutely superb, and the video absolutely "Crisp" beautiful you have selected some of my all time favourite films and composers John Barry,O.H.M.S.S.and Ipcress,a fellow Yorkshireman,!, and Ron Goodwin {Where Eagles Dare} such haunting and stirring soundtrack music, they just dont write soundracks like this anymore,theV/E,the time it must have taken to do that,,Its like watching them in the Cinema again the first time. made the hairs on my neck stand up all over again,!!
My fav Bond film also. Lazenby was great considering this was his first real acting gig. Peter Hunt a fantastic director. He had been editor on first 4 Bond films and supervising editor and second unit director on the fifth. My fav Barry score. Lazenby should have done more. Stupid agent.
Un-forgettable music from the legindary John Barry. George lazenby did'nt do another BOND movie because he did'nt want to be 'type cast'....Which i think is a shame as i thought he made a good bond. Great editing, nice video. I'm surprised it's not had more views. I guess us sentimental old folks are a dying breed. :)
@bigswano I agree. I once saw somebody's list of the best Bond villains, and whoever it was put Gert Frobe as Goldfinger at the top. Gert was great, and had probably the most famous line in all of the Bond films -- "No, Mister Bond ...... I EXPECT YOU TO DIE!!!" -- but I would place Telly Savalas as Ernst S. B. at the top. He was SO sinister and arrogant .... sort of like your typical New Yorker!!! LOL Just kidding, New Yorkers!
Best soundtrack in the Bond series! But a lot of mistakes were made with this movie. Lazenby didn't pan out, obviously. Bond getting married was also a strange direction to go in, and it's a trick you could only do once.
EXCELENT JOB! Top notch. This is, without a doubt in MY mind, the BEST James Bond movie ever. Diana Rigg was the best Bond girl and Telly Savalas as Ernst Stavaro Blofeld was unmatched. George Lazenby's take on Bond was the closest to Ian Fleming's idea of what James Bond should be. OHMSS....the rest just come up short.
Um, hmmm, um, can you do other "editing jobs" such as "You Know My Name", "A View to a Kill", perhaps a little "Live and Let Die", can't go wrong with "The Living Daylights", absolutely brilliant work, I second all the people commending you, and you should get into Hollywood or something :)
Excellent edit......great to see that other people appreciate OHMSS.
A great film... though tragedically at the time was overshadowed by news of GL's manager to announce prior to the premiere that this would be GL's one and only Bond film (without Lazenby knowing).
If GL had been allowed to sign on for future Bonds, we could of had more excellent down to earth Bond adventures during the 1970's with Peter Hunt directing.
A work of passion. The best "amateur", (and I use the term lightly), movie/film score tribute that has ever graced the screens of You Tube. Well done and many thanks for sharing your work.
Superb piece of editing, especially like the way you use the central characters most poigniant expressions almost as a montage but cut with brief action sequences. The inclusion of Diana Rigg on ice skates is a master stroke!
RIP John Barry, one of his finest works (and that's saying something!), not to mention a fantastic film! Shame George's friends told him to give up being Bond, I think he was great
Brilliant Video..........This Was The First Vinyl Single I Ever Bought With The Brilliant B-Side Of We Have All The Time In The World By Louis Armstrong ThIs Is The Best James Bond Theme Tune If Not Best Ever Film Theme Tune In My Opinon
Quite possibly his greatest movie them tune and that's up against some fairly stiff competition. It oozes class and I don't care what age you are, it just makes you want to be Bond. I can think of no greater epitaph for the genius that was John Barry.
Bless you John Barry for sharing your talents with the world and making it better, forever.
John Barry was of the greatest composers of all time, an icon of our era. He introduced synthesizers to cinema on this, On Her Majesty's Secret Service. He is best known for the many legendary bond films, but he also did born free out of africa the lion in winter dances with wolves Somewhere in Time, An Indecent Proposal, Midnight Cowboy, specialist, a beautiful mind & Game of Death (Bruce Lee)
Sad to hear that John Barry has died. He ranks up there with other great movie music composers like Bernard Hermann, Henry Mancini, Maurice Jarre and of course Ennio Morricone. Thanks for the music legacy, Mr Barry
Best Original Bond Theme ever and a dedication to John Barry who died yesterday. When this theme plays with the ski chase is amazing and one of the main Bond films with not obvious music.
This is without a doubt the best bond film EVER!!! Fantastic fight sequences, the best skii chase in movie history, the best Blofeld and the best soundtrack and musical score of the entire series, and i have watched them all.
I first watched this film on Betamax video 29years ago, and it has still not lost it effect on me.
OHMSS has never received the recognition it truly deserves, but its good to see that i am not alone in my admiration of this classic piece of film making.
the best ever bond film, the chemistry between tracy & bond carried this film to a new height no previous or since bond film ever has done, best script, best music, best cast, Lazenby was 007, considering his lack of experience he walked away with the title, had he done more he would have been acknowledged so, however we all know what went on, only 3 bond films worth watching, Goldfinger - You Only Live Twice - OHMSS, Connery was the great, but Lazenby had something extra, romance vulnerability?
PROBABLY THE BEST! IT WAS AND IS THE BEST BOND FILM EVER MADE, THE CHEMESTRY BETWEEN BOND & TRACY WAS SELF EVIDENT FOR ALL TO SEE TO DATE NO OTHER BOND FILM AS EVEN COME CLOSE, THE ACTORS WHERE RIGHT, THE SCRIPT WAS RIGHT, THE MUSIC WAS RIGHT, GEORGE LAZENBY WAS STICHED UP, CONSIDERING HIS LACK OF EXPERIENCE HE WAS ALMOST PERFECT, WITHOUT QUESTION LANZENBY WAS 007
This guy could have been a good action star, but he just didn't seem appropriate for this role. Even the much maligned Roger Moore seemed more Bond than this guy.
This has to to the best video yet......For years i heard people bad mouth this movie even producer Micheal Wilson. But now it seems people are taking a good look at this Film and seeing how Great and how close to the Book it is.

My Favorite Bond movie ever..and I love Bond... I love it becuase he Fall in Love and actually gets well you know... and its the only time he ever did...and the editing on thie video is great and HQ.... Nice work...
best bond soundtrack but not the best bond - strange film - in many ways the best bond film but lazenby and rigg let it down - can't imagine connery in it - most interesting bond film - great tragic ending etc
I fully agree with the guy that said "Excellent editing, one of the best i've seen on youtube in all honesty. Most "music video's" aren't edited to go that well with the music but this fits perfectly" - great fkkn vidjob.
Excellent editing, one of the best i've seen on youtube in all honesty. Most "music video's" aren't edited to go that well with the music but this fits perfectly.
I've always loved this film, its theme and George Lazenby's one and only Bond performance. It's such an understated film and so is the central performance. Diana Rigg too is perfect as a Bond girl who is way more than just a pretty face. Great alpine set-pieces and a tragic ending. What's not to love about this film. The best of the Bonds... in my opinion.
There were a few parts of this movie to dislike, but this track is definitely a strong point.
Now I've got a question for the serious Bond fans: What's with the first few minutes of "View to a Kill"? Not only does a rewritten version of this track play, but there is excessive skiing, Bond loses a ski, there's another dead agent, and there's even unnecessary use of the word "beluga". Many similarities.
Great, great music for an excellent movie. I just came to a slight revelation about why Lazenby was not one of my top Bonds. His eyes. Connery, Dalton, Craig can all muster up a look that could kill. And George L. might have improved if he had done a 2nd or 3rd Bond flick, also.
Lazenby was excellent as Bond - probably the best. Shame he didn't do any more Bond movies. One of the greatest Bond movies with superb backing music.
People have criticized Lazenby for his performance largely because he was different from Connery, and they had grown used to Connery. But Lazenby plays Bond actually truer to form than Connery ever did.
Lazenby's job was to play Bond, NOT to play Connery.
A superb, absolutely SUPERB homage to what is, overall, still the best, most vividly realized, Bond film of all time! And Lazenby was great as Bond. And Barry's score---well, it's John Barry, after all, so it could not but be a classic. Great video tribute & homage, Soundtrackcollector (as am I, btw)...thanks for posting!
With all due respect to Lazenby, I think it would have been far more poignant end to the Connery years, had he stayed on for this movie. To see his cool character fall in love, and then have that stripped away from him, cradling his dead wife at the end... Maybe in an alternate universe!

That was brilliant with the opening. I still haven’t brought this on DVD I have most of the Bond films and this John Barry score has a Bond touch, also it was nearing the end of 60’s leading into the 70’s where James Bond will return…
Great action flick that just happened to be a Bond flick. Lazendy was okay, but he screwed himself w/bad behaviour. At one time, Oliver Reed was considered for the role, but his hellraising lifestyle prompted the Broccolis to reconsider.
it was a great film one of my favorites considering moore and connery were my favorites. yes it was different ,i i loved the ski scenes loved the music loved the fact that bond got married, loved diana riggs!
Best Bond Theme and best bond movie ever. As Simple as that.

I fully agree with the guy that said "Excellent editing, one of the best i've seen on youtube in all honesty. Most "music video's" aren't edited to go that well with the music but this fits perfectly" - great fkkn vidjob.

Was Telly Savalas the first one with the white cat or was it Donald Pleasance?..

As a Bond theme, this sounds sinister, my fave of them all.

I can't believe this theme is from 1969 ! Really amazing .

My favorite of bond-intros!

Lazenby was excellent as Bond - probably the best. Shame he didn't do any more Bond movies. One of the greatest Bond movies with superb backing music.

George Lazenby was a great Bond.
Telly Savalas was of the best Bond Villans. One of my favourites.

People have criticized Lazenby for his performance largely because he was different from Connery, and they had grown used to Connery. But Lazenby plays Bond actually truer to form than Connery ever did.
Lazenby's job was to play Bond, NOT to play Connery.

This movie and Casino Royal have a lot in common. Brilliantly done

It's a good movie! If Connery had starred in it, it might have been the best Bond film ever.
