I found the most effective way to learn Zodiac is to cast Innocent on Elidibs; that way all his magical attacks, including Zodiac, will inflict 000 HP on the Summoners and they'll be able to learn it.
@CrAzY799999 It might be two months too late, but in order to learn the 'summon Zodiac' you need to be a summoner. If a summoner survives the attack, they have the option of learning the spell by-proxy.
@DrunkieG this is a long time after this question but magic and summons have a charge time and if the characters AT hits 100 before the spell is supposed to go off then they can choose to move and/or cancel the charged action and do something else
@lendial You could always try the duplicate samurai sword trick - it'll duplicate whatever sword you have in addition to costing you no gil. Unfortunately, that was the only way to ensure you'll have the masamune sword out.
I stole it from Elmdor earlier. You can still get it with a bonus sidequest in the PSP version requiring both Reis and Beowulf, where it's impossible to steal from Elmdor.

i noticed something strange about the bio spells when i play.
bio 1 will sometimes appear green or pink
bio 2 will turn dark red sometimes
bio 3 sometimes casts as green or orange and the sound changes pitch.
has anyone else seen that?

It's possible, move around while using magic or skill at first.

Not really, you can move, just not perform any other actions unless you want to cancel your charged attack

i always hated how they gave you one masamune in the whole game. what happens if it breaks?! an entire skill is lost.
