Funny you should ask. It's of record from the Dept of Defense. He was allowed to go visit wounded soldiers & declined once he found out his media posse wasn't allowed to be along side him. Look it for yourself.
Don't believe everything you hear from the press. His campaign released a statement citing the reason for him declining to visit with wounded soldiers was that he felt it was not his place as a presidential hopeful to visit with the wounded troops and that it would be viewed as him assuming a presidential role.

The purpose of the surge was to create the securiy environment that allowed the political factions in Iraq to come to an agreement as to how they themselves would govern their country. No or very little change took place in Iraqi government disagreements and they have accomplished almost nothing. Sure there is a reduce in violence by the surge, but that wasn't the goal.

That was the purpuse of the surge. Our troops did their job, Iraqies didn't do theirs. This war does not need a military solution it needs a political solution. Iraqies have to be forced to do thier job. It is not responsability of our troops to make politicians in Iraq work. Our troops did their job, and they won their war.

Surge has succeded? I'm sory but I disagree. The purpose of the surge was NOT TO REDUCE VIOLENCE as you would like it to be. The purpose of the surge was to create the securiy environment that allowed the political factions in Iraq to come to an agreement as to how they themselves would govern their country. No or very little change took place in Iraqi government disagreements and they have accomplished almost nothing. Sure there is a reduce in violence by the surge, but that wasn't the goal.
