The point of the quote is that Mccain is being a hypocrite. Because he attacks Obama saying that he is only running for president because of his ambition and not for love of country. Never said you have to. But if you want to run for President I would suggest you don't go around saying you refuse to wear one. I don't fly a flag in front of my house on Memorial Day, but I don't put up a sign saying "I Refuse to fly a flag on Memorial Day". Not wearing a pin and outright refusing to wear one is quite a difference.
