I recommend ditching that gel, its not doing you any favors, I do mine by firstly using mousse in my hair to add texture then blow dry it up (well do your best too) then use texturising gum or putty combined with hairspray and a hair dryer to get the hawk up. Or if that doesn't work with your hair type, leave a bar of soap in a glass of water for a day or two then leave it to dry for a day, that will be better than any gel, but as soon as you put it in your hair comb it out and hairspray it
