A tell-tale for me, since I'm not that experienced with radar interp., is to notice the "heart shape" of the storm on radar along with an appendage dangling at the bottom. Then the heart shape bows down (a right turn ).....good indicator of significant rotation within the storm. Just a good little rule of thumb.
Nope, the radar is not WHO-TV's. It's the NWS NEXRAD installation outside of Omaha, Nebraska. The data is displayed using "StormLab" by Storm Alert, Inc.

It was a tornado-producing storm and did have a tornado warning on it.
