  • PIG SO KIKIN IT. LOVE

  • Jerry looks so healthy here

  • 1:34

  • 2:20 my man is passed out on the roof and surrounded by 2 cops but his feet are still tapping to the music...Don't eat the Brown acid man...Long Live The Grateful Dead !!!

  • great early clip ... that bored Candian crowd seems bitter ...not enough doses to go around.

  • This song makes me think about anal sex.

  • Look at how young they all are... especially Bobby! Amazing rendition of this song.

  • Words cannot describe how good this tune is

  • I'm 192,190

  • @gmj2012 Yeah he's so good looking haha, of course I'm a deadhead in general, but Weir grew on me a whole lot. I'm 17 haha so I like young Weir, but old Weir is just as great! They're all amazing people. He has a full beard and mustache now, so yeah he looks different, but you could recognize those eyes anywhere. Yeah, he is still making music. Mostly with Furthur (his band with Phil Lesh, they do Grateful Dead songs still and Phil lesh is the bassist of the Grateful Dead). Also with Rat Dog.

  • Who is the guitar player with the ponytail (not the lead singer but the guy in pink shirt, and not Gerry)??? Is it Steve Tesh??? I watched this on DVD last night & it drove me nuts trying to figure out who he is, so please someone let me know so I can rest easy, lol. BTW, this 2 disc DVD set is well worth the money, both discs are loaded with never seen music & interview, behind the scenes & jamming footage. AWESOME is an understatement.

  • @gmj2012 That would be Bob Weir.

  • @jimmorrisonmylove Thanks! After I saw Tesh in later interview I knew it wasn't him, but wasn't quite sure. I love him, LOVE him, and it's great he's still alive, he was in the interviews on the DVD and still looks damned good, though nothing like he used to or I might have recognized him. Is he still making music or just producing now? Isn't he a big wig record exec now or something? In this video, he's like my ideal man, lol. :-P

  • @gmj2012 DERP DERP DERP DERP DERP DERP

    also, it's spelled JERRY

  • gotta love pigpen

  • great to see pigpen still in. jerry & the boys so young ...!!!

  • Señoraaaaaaa Roooolaa!!!

  • so these guys were playing a cover of a song that was originally recorded 41 years before by Henry Thomas........and here I am 41 years later listening to that cover song. It all comes around full circle. Good music is good music doesnt matter the decade.

  • I've watched Festival Express probably 30 times and this song gets me groovin' every single time. I am in love with this movie :)

  • Jerry Berry Looks Sooo Young and Healthy

    :D

  • Good recording, they sound so clear and fine here. And look so YOUNG! !!!PIGPEN!!!

  • i caN Feel my hair growing

  • this cant be 1970 the video is so clear its awesome.!!!

  • RIP Jerry August 9, 1995 To the world you are one, to the music world you will never be matched. You were taken from us way too young.

  • Favorite version of this song hands down. Anyone know any other versions that are this good? Jerry's voice is straight silk here.

  • jerry got so much style man

  • great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Jerry's voice changed so much over the years...

  • Jerry and Pig...get it while its hot. Killer flick

  • Don't ya just love it?

  • 4 peeps spent more than all night coming home - and were subsequently not let in!

  • HOLY FUCKING GRATEFUL!!!!!

  • 1970 It is very hard to find a fat person in the Audience....Hell Even Jerry isn't even Chubby yet by today's standards.

2011 It is very hard to find a skinny person in a crowd that large. WTF happened to us?

  • @RICH12DAY34 Low fat foods, aspartame, longer hours at work, more sedentary lifestyle, waaaayyy, more psychological stress / financial debt stress and to be totally policaly incorect....women went out to work = fast food instead of home cooked meals...we so need toget back to the garden.

  • @RICH12DAY34 Everyone at that concert, spent their money on concerts and records instead of food.

  • @WAHMBAWM No it was in Canada decades ago. They just weren't as fat and unhealthy as a lot of Americans are these days.

  • @PhunkyPhishPhan ur moms phat!

  • festival express!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Henry Thomas' song! Better by Henry imo

  • YES!!!!!

  • how the fuck are j and b dressed the same and p and pp and dressed the same but more like bob dylan 69`..

  • out of the 138,024 views, I'd have to say I'm responsible for about 38,024

  • @chicagocubbyguy218 and me the rest....so fresh and green I love this

  • @chicagocubbyguy218

I also contributed to a lot of views until I bought the DVD. And I can't count the number of times I have pushed the PREV button on the remote and watched it all over again! :)

  • good ol jerry!!! still alive!!!

  • @WhoWouldJesusNuke that girl is like 65 now man, unless thats what your into.

  • recorded live in Canada in 1970 on their Festival Express train performance junket.......... Everyone should have this DVD....... It was the end of an era all rolled-up in a historic one-of-a-kind one-time-only voyage into the realm of real music....

  • When i was growing up, i was lead to believe that the Dead invented "Acid Rock" - serving up swirling, chaotic vortexes of the hardest metal sounds imaginable at the time, blasted out at 120 decibels to a screaming crowd of stoners.... could it be that i was wrong??

  • @HolyMotherofGrid Look at their first 3 albums, man, and then once they got on board with Owsley with the Wall of Sound...and Kesey's Acid Tests....yes they sure as hell invented it.....they were just versatile 'cos all the band members came from different backgrounds musically....which is always a good thing man......

  • this version is a lot better than the version recorded for "Go to Heaven". Grateful dead are probably the best live band of all time

  • I'm liking the flag at :08

  • the best dont ease me i have ever heard!

  • the best dont ease me i have ever heard! kick ass!

  • why doesn't furthur come to Toronto?

  • @slideon: It's too far.

  • @aarfeld they play in NY why cant they go up north a bit?

  • @slideon: I was just teasing, you know: further, too far. ;-) They should visit Toronto. Wouldn't it be cool if some promoter launched a similar train tour across Canada today. The original promoter has contemplated it.

  • @aarfeld they should, they should

  • ahhh...young Jerry

  • this was the tour they documented in festival express isn't it?

  • @dwmck yes.

  • this is my second post.my first show in 91 and just seen furthur in colorado and cinncinnatti and praise to god for the older hippies that showed this generation what love is all about thanks

  • In the words of Kurt Cobain, BURN THE HIPPIES!

  • well you are a bit of a tit man, Kurt and Jerry died from the same source. If Kurt had a bit more hippy in him maybe he wouldnt have made so many silly statements and lived a bit longer.

The Melvins didnt say such rubbish, and they were his gods.

  • How pedestrian, never that they were any good, and that just confirmed it. I guess that was great music with all the stoners in frisco back in the day, I would have to be stoned to listen to much of this crap.

  • @artfulroger62

pedestrian? maybe you havent listened to Live, where they are on a par with Bird for crazy jazz improv.

  • Amazing

  • amazing how much better music was back then

  • awsome

  • yeah i just ate some acid, wish me luck

  • @ChillyDrags how was it?

  • @burningmanheartbeat oh horrible, i had no weed all night and i just stayed up all night, alone watching Speed Racer Cartoons for the first time. yeah i ate three of those fuckers and i still got it's two brothers

  • @ChillyDrags hope you prepared for that trip!

  • If there is a God, he will allow the pelvic thrust man at 2:46 to live as a king.

  • just amazing... wish I was there

  • Fuck the police!

  • People were better looking in the 60s.

  • fucken love this version play it all the time - wish i had of been there

  • my parents wedding day ! 8 years before i was born.

  • This is so much better than the terrible studio outtake track on the remastered "go to heaven" I wish they played this tune more often than they did.

  • Bill Kreutzman playing with brushes

  • Happy birthday pig

  • This video could be subject to very, very, very many MILF and GILF jokes.. Was it something in the water 40 years ago that made every girl around a fox?!

  • @psychedelic45radio that are they hadn't yet perfected the drool glue between the average joe and the idiot box

  • Yay! Hippie chicks! Ha ha, always good to see the Pig too. Never the same without him :-(

  • Long Live the Grateful Dead. Been a Deadhead since my 1st concert in 1972 (I just turned 50 Oct. 11) & followed them ALL OVER the country till Jerry died, which still shreds me. My 5 kids were born Deadheads & it was great to catch the shows in L.A. & in Mtn. View CA. in May 2009. Feb. 6 2010 5:50 am California

  • Mr Mckernan on harmonica!!!!!!!!!!!

  • No knees, no knees...

  • i wish today was still like the sixties. no computers , no vudeo games, just music. thats how everone should entertain themselves. whoever learns an instrument likes good music, people dont , like hip-hop, something u cant play to.

  • @PAULisDEADMANnumber9: truth man.

  • @PAULisDEADMANnumber9 me 2 but i would miss the PS3 games and the computers but all the music would make up for it ive been listening to music from the 60s since i was 15 and im now 17 and i still do. I really like the Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Jimi Hendrix and many more lol

  • @grimgrimdeath666

lol i know dude i love video games but i would totally dig the dead and hendrix and a lil pot n acid and a 3 day festival over the new madden

  • @ripbarrett72

    like wise :)

  • wow 2 years of listening. thats a really long time.

  • @guitarmcman i play alot of their stuff on guitar aswell and can do long psychedelic jams and so what it been 3 years including 2010 ive have at least 187 or more songs on my IPhone ive also got an album witch dead made before they were called the Grateful Dead and that was in 1965 when they were called the warlocks and it's quite rare to hear them before they were the dead so yeah

  • @grimgrimdeath666 ya but are you...Experienced?

  • @Froebs wat do u mean :)

  • @guitarmcman hey bro, it don't matter if you been listening 20 days or 20 years

  • @PAULisDEADMANnumber9

  • 2 bad cops happened

  • This is from a movie called "Festival Express" i highly suggest renting it

  • amazing how much skinnier people were back then

  • amazing how much thicker people are now

  • @g5uk nobody goes outside anymore, people are too busy being locked inside their cars and houses.

  • @g5uk

thats all about the dope .... dope makes you get thinner ;) ( best example snoop ;) )

  • @RoodmanAJ youve never smoked pot have you, haha... i dont think eating every bag of cheese balls in the state will make you get thinner, haha

oh no. i smoke pot every day :) , but i never tasted cheese balls :)

  • @g5uk 1972---Nixon--Deregulation of the Food Industry. Goodbye "communism", Hello High Fructose Corn Syrup and Partially Hydrogenated oils.

  • @brotherbuttcrack --- Don't be so sad. We have Obama now!

  • @GooglelyTube who gives tax breaks to the rich, and capitulates to the other side. dude gave up everything on climate change too, including off-shore drilling in massive numbers. both parties are pro business at the sake of the people, don't matter if they're black or white

  • @g5uk Especially in the head.

  • @g5uk: Would you like fries with that?

  • amazing how people are NOW even now

  • @putdownan8dude lots of drugs, not a lot of food

  • @putdownan8dude It's because everyone was on drugs, all the time hahaha

  • here's a bubble burster: all the crowd shots are spliced in using what little footage they had :( if you watch the whole DVD you see the same crowd shots used for different tunes. That's why some people appear to be dancing "out of tempo".

  • That's true.....but are you missing the point.....it's 39 years ago.....better this.....than no thing at all.

  • if "the point" are comments saying that the crowd really enjoys the dead, then yes, i am missing it.

i really like the performances on this DVD. i own it and watch it all the time. that's all i really care about....not watching someone else watch a band.

  • Everything seemed so free and easy back then. What happened?!

  • people started thinkin more about the money :-[

  • Anyone know where I can find the audio rip of this?

  • listentoyoutube com

  • Yeah! The Pig rocks the house!

  • Its cool how people are hangin out on the roof!

  • Nobody does it like this anymore! So good!

  • i love seeing the girl with black hair just fall in love with them as its happeneing, you can tell shes never heard the song, or maybe evan the dead ever, and is digging it, i dig this shit man
