this is like deus-ex synthesizer music which is kind of freaky (admit it!) but also very enjoyable. definitely not something to show your friends, even if you like it.
@SlowJoman ...i also does not like this track very much... despite i apreciate nearly everything i've heared from 65dos. But check out other tracks, hm? :))
@mezzamie Hey, asked Paul at the Oran Mor gig in Glasgow, he had to listen back to it off my mobile but confirmed that the line at the end is 'Dead is alive and the lost is found' ;)
Awesome gig too, the new album is fantastic, especially Debutante & Tiger Girl at the end. Ended up chatting to them after the gig too; apparently the next album is gonna be more like the old stuff and not as much 'dance music' :D
Why is it that this doesn't sound anything like any of the other videos on youtube claiming to be "The Distant and Mechanized Glow of Eastern European Dance Parties"?
because this isn't "the distant and mechanised glow of eastern european dance parties". the song is called "dance parties (distant)" and was released on the ep "the distant and mechanised glow of eastern european dance parties"
yeah the original Distant and Mechanised Glow of Eastern European Dance Parties is on the Destruction of Small Ideas album. Their was a single with the same name which included the two remixed versions Dance Parties (Distant) and Dance Parties (Mechanised)
See, i thought it was "ration, carbon, scoured lung"; the Radio protector video on here talks about rationing carbon so you can see the logic. I met them at the king tuts gig, forgot to ask them - they WILL actually sit and tell fans lyrics at gigs :P But yeah i think mezzame is right, dont think its got anything to do with lava :S
Yeah the audio is edited in, didnt realise the video was fan made though (lots of it was similar to the imagery projected behind the band on the radio protector tour, talk of carbon useage at the start, all the polaroids etc)
But still not convinced the lyric in Distant is 'crashing cloud', theres a lot of discussion about it on 65kids though and it seems most fans think that it is; they're probably right, i just dont hear it.
nothing like their other stuff and yet this is like the messiah of electronica brit indie (yeah i just made up a new genre of music :]). loving this song
Those lyrics are WAAAY wrong. "On, move on, they're gaining ground, In to lava, lost is found. On, move on, they're gaining ground, In the cities, in the towns. Waiting with the lights turned down, In to lava, lost is found. On, hold on, the day is young, The crashing cloud, the scoured lung. Up, wake up, the future's here, The schools all closed, the roads all clear. On, hold on, they're gaining ground, On, hold on, they're gaining ground. "
I love 65dos saw them live in nottingham not long ago fairly small gig but made it more intense which was amazing =D if any of you out there that like the band and havnt yet seen em live i urge u to do it. its something u will never forget

as much as i love this band, i gotta say that this is probably the worst song i ever heard from them. And i'm the one who loves more electronic songs like Major Cities or Massive Star, but this is just wayyy below average!
This isn't 65 DOS, best song, and I do like electronic style music, but it's still a fairly decent song, It's just that when I come to 65 DOS I don't expect this, I expect better, but still a great song

That radio protector video is just fanmade, and they edit that speech in- it had nothing to do with 65days. It was cool though.

Belongs on the EP, for sure, but I'm rather fond of this song, even though it's more 'club' than 65dos usually is.
Great video, regardless of song.
