How about a solidier or a kid or the person who donated the tree light it.

I watched it on my DVR earlier today, but I missed it. I prefer this a lot better than the Celebration of Lights in Poughkeepsie where they the same tree lighting and fireworks. I'll stick with this one.

"Joy to the World" the best Christmas message. I love Rockefeller Plaza at Christmas and that magnificent tree and the spirit of NYNY, my wife and I will be there soon. In the meantime you might like to see the Tree at Darling Harbour, Sydney to see how folk from Oz celebrate this time of year in the summer down under. Its on youtube. It's unbelievable, that something from my hometown is kept in New York.
It's the metal star on top of the Christmas Tree! We only have about 35000 habitants and I think, barely 100 of these people know, that the star of the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree comes right from us in Wesseling :) Greetings and merry Christmas ;)
