Suffocation took death metal to a whole new level with Effigy of the Forgotten. Heard Liege of Inveracity on the radio and immediately ran out and found EOTF on cassette. Definitely in my top 10 DM albums of all time. Hugely influential band for future DM acts. One day (around '92 or '93), my high school librarian asked me what the logo on my shirt said. When I reluctantly told her Suffocation, she was a bit taken a back. Wore that EOTF shirt with pride. Thanks for the post.

Actualy the band sat down togther and talked about getting back together and decided they would like to. Actually trueblack, Jeremy Wagner is the one who was talking about this in a recent interview. You CAN be in multiple bands (see the Oregon crew for instance. Maniac Neil, the guys from Engorged, and all them). If only just to get one more album like Loathing or Bowels of Repugnance (Grotesque Blessing wasn't heavy enough for me).

Repulsive Conception is their best effort overall, Loathing had shitty production and sounded way too thin. The first two albums were pretty much cookie cutter death and they can certainly do better than that. Grotesque Blessings was pretty weak. Overall to me they came across as a band with potential but their song writing was too schizophrenic (and not in a good way) on the later releases.
