The lacking isn't related to that, my male cat is neutered and still does this. It's just a quirky cat trait. Plus anyone can tell she's a female from her fur markings. Cats with as many colors as her are ALWAYS female due to cat genetics, which is why 99.9% of Calico are FEMALE.
