  • lol, He's inhaling the smoke and blows it out thru his nose at the end of the video. Die hard addict! hahaha :D

  • You never hold it by the mag well. The first reason is because you could release the mag. The other being it screws the mag well up. The mag well actually rotates and can be used as a dust cover when not in use. When you rotate it back to expose the ejection port, it will lock in place. If you hold it by the mag well you will elongate the hole that it locks into. This causes lateral movement in the mag housing, which will eventually cause it to jam all the time.

  • I suppose you enjoy getting your hands burnt then, british troops held it by the magazine throughout the second world war and we didn't seem to do too badly :)

  • @wallabingbangbo no british troops were always taught to hold it under the barrel. as said earlier they even came with leather guards if needed. holding it by the mag causes it to flex causing a jam , but not all the time. Holding it by the barrel also increases accuracy while firing in bursts

  • You never hold a sten by the mag.

  • Can you buy semi-automatic Sten guns anywhere, I live in the USA ?

  • If i owned one of these I would weld a pistol grip to the barrel shroud. About 3 1/2 inches in front of the ejection port.

  • Shouldn't have held it by the mag, but it doesn't look like there was any interference, so...

  • @IAmCaptainMarvel you have to hold it by the mag, where else would you hold it........

    GENIUS.

  • @imaddictedtowow112 You're not supposed to. Holding the magazine can cause it it feed improperly. Your supposed to hold it by the lower receiver or heat-shield. It doesn't get that hot during a 5 second burst. And who fire a full mag every-time anyways? You can get leather hand-guards if your still concerned. Later models had wooden vertical grips.

  • @imaddictedtowow112

I think you've been playing too much Call of Duty 2 and WaW, you hold the gun slightly before and under the barrel, the heat shield I think it's called. Holding the mag has been known to cause it to jam.

My grandfather used one in the 1950's, he's fired them for God's sake, and not once had he or any of his fellow servicemen fired it while holding the mag.

Stop pulling facts out of your arse. Pull your head out instead.

  • @IAmCaptainMarvel First of all, dont assume I play CoD just because I made an assumption.

I did NOT just make that up. when I fired my friends sten I held it by the mag and it didnt jam.

It doesent jam all the time bro.

Stop trying to be an ass, try being polite.

  • @imaddictedtowow112

He's right, as long as you are gentle, holding it by the mag works.

  • @imaddictedtowow112

That's precisely what I stated! I harmlessly said he wasn't supposed to hold it by the mag, BUT, his Sten didn't jam as this guy fired it; so it was alright. You're the one who was being sarcastic.

    Jesus.

  • @imaddictedtowow112 Don't forget, it needs only to jam ONCE in a combat situation and chances are you'll never get a jam again.......I don't know why everyone seems obsessed with holding SMG's by the mag.....

  • @JCWeaponry AWESOME MAN! How was the recoil? Light? Semi-Hard? Almost Nothing?

  • 1 nazi got shot by a sten gun

  • how would you cycle a round out on that gun

  • how many bullets dos this gun hold?

  • @94boxen 32

  • @qounqer Theoretically yes. Realistically no. You don't put 32 rounds in a mag because it nearly always will jam (due to the too high tension on the spring.) I've loaded 30 rounds in a mag before an got it off fine but that was on an exceptionally good sten Mk11, with an amazing magazine and rounds (out of 200 rounds not one misfired at all, which is very rare).

  • @TRUExSIGHTS JUST TELLING HIM WHAT I KNOW, also where is your hand supposed go, i can't even imagine where to hold that, cause holding by the magazine causes jams, and anywhere else your in danger of getting your thumb caught

  • @qounqer If you look at 0:00 the part right infront of the trigger guard is the best place to hold it. It provides an amount of stability. I've also known people to hold it infront of the breach (just before the barrel appears) as that is reasonably safe to do aswell. It depends on personal preference. Some people do hold it by the mag though, depends on how well your sten is put together. Most will experience jamming issues if you do hold it by the mag, saying that.

  • @qounqer If you hold it by the magwell nothing will happen.

  • its a mk 3 sten gun

  • If you look closely, at the end of the video, the man who fired the gun breath out a loooot of smoke he jsut breathed in while firing :D :D (and we know it's not just water vapor 'cause at the start of the video : 0:00 the 2 male don't breath out vapor).

So how is the 9mm smoke ? Fruity :D ?

  • @Fabzil No, the reason why you see it after is because the air has been in his lungs longer because he was holding his breath. You can see him breathe out a little, the a few seconds later he lets all his breath out. Good observation, but look at the science of it a little more, Sherlock.

  • @VirgilHawkins1 Elementary, my dear Watson :]

  • Dont hold the magazine buddy. Jams up :)

  • the quality on you're videos are amazing!! do you mind if i ask you what camera you are using? btw, great video, big fan of the Sten myself.

  • insane quality.
