Ben Lowrey comes across as quite a pleasant individual, but I'm not that gullible, I tested the website out very recently before I sent any money, I sent 3 emails 6 days ago, still no reply, I now assume had I experienced difficulty with the lesson downloads I would have been pushing into the wind from now until doomsday, nothing currently seems to be working at his website, all I get is not available.

If you are interested go to Google and type Ben Lowrey's blog, then choose to read "My Life Story So Far", this is Ben Lowrey's story, you will get some insite to what drives this person, and who and what he is prepared to sacrifice for his personal gain, it makes quite interesting reading, I do think possibly in the early start Vguitar could have been genuine, but I think now he has better things to attend to ( profit ) and the site has now been neglected.

You obviously don't know what you're talking about, simply try to get into the forums and you'll soon find out it's not working, but you'll find there's plenty of ways to spend money, just try sending a test email with a question, I've tried it numerous times, still waiting no reply, it's now several weeks gone by, imagine if I had a technical problem with a download etc, I would still be waiting indefinitely,

@konnen2 i bought most of his lessons, it worked for me, but that was for aprox 1 year ago. A new guy owns the website now but i think its under control, and ben lowreys is still providing lessons

I've purchased Ben's lessons guys. He is awesome.

To all the detractors, perhaps Ben quite intentionally kept this simple to spark the learners out there to say, "Hey, I can play that". They would then seek more from Ben and we all know where that would lead.

Passive Marketing? I would want the teacher to be better than me - and to show what I can achieve to through his instruction. After listening to this piece - I think he is a hack and will never visit his site. There are far too many out there who can show you better.

Mabye you want an impressive teacher, but that's probably because you already have a lot of experience. On the other hand, Ben caters mostly to the first time guitarist who get's intimidated by someone doing some 1/16th note shredding.

Personally, I don't think learning this piece would be so bad, not only cause it's easy, but it sounds like there's a lot of room for improvisation with it.

I would wager to say that he is a far better player than you will ever be. It takes a lot of skill to reduce difficult tunes for beginners. Not to mention his attitude and energy are great!

Some of these guys are right. makin music isn't just about having a kick ass solo or face melting licks you know? its about puttin yourself into a song. Ben does it well here. its a great song and for all you guys who don't think so well then i don't think you know what it truly means to play guitar or write songs.

I begain to learn the guitar from You-Tube with lessons from Justin and Ben last year and learnd to play some of my favs, but because of school, I have let it slid. Because of this small video, it has resparked the desire to start over from the beginning and commit to it and see what new adventures and instresting people i meet.

I only play rythem guitar, but I love it.

sure, not every solo needs shred. But i personally favour a melodical shred than just a steady solo thats just changing key but not the feeling. Dont get me wrong, Ben is a good guitarist. But this melody wasnt that original, did not have so much dynamics. Just thought that Ben had much more to offer.

Just listen to Slashs "sweet child o mine" solo and you know what im talking about :)

Sounds deathly familiar, I think I heard this already. Besides lack of originality, you should make music more exciting by adding some killer shredding stuff with a lot of sweep picking and tapping. Badass guitar btw, looks sorta like 1/4 volume
