if he was acquitted can't his records be sealed for the purpose of finding a job? and isn't the protective order lifted when you are acquitted? and according to the NICS website you have to have a conviction before you lose gun rights, and protective orders are only a temporary loss of gun rights

I lived in a household growing up that my mother has assaulted my father on many occasions, and he never hit her back. This violence against women act is a sexist law that instantly makes all males criminals. How is this even legal? This isn't "equal rights," it FAVORS women. Just like the criminal justice system is biased against men. MANY MEN ARE VICTIMS to women by the justice system, and i hate to see innocent men suffer. It makes my blood boil.

Listen, last year I was arrested for Domestic Violence and escorted from my home. I am 4'11" and was recovering from a severely broken neck and in a neck brace. I was also going through a divorce, and the arrest was a strategic way to remove me from the house and establish my husband's right to occupancy prior to attending our first divorce hearing, which was coming up. And it worked. The DV case got almost literally laughed out of court but my (NOW EX) husband got to retain residency

The VAWA act is used in california to collect child support. Here's how it works regarding child support: For every dollar that california collects in child support, the federal government sends a check to california. In other words if california collects a million bux in child support, the U.S. Government writes a check to Cali for a million dollars. It's a money making scheme. It causes the courts to become money collectors. instead of the "fair and impartial" arbitrators they should be.

VAWA is to protect innocent victims of abuse or DEATH. It should never be misused as a custody tool or abused in general and those that misuse it should be prosecuted for watsing taxpayers time and money and HURTING innocent people.

By its very nature it IS the ability to abuse the system against men, with impunity. Any talk of fixing it, or lecturing people not to abuse it is like trying to clean a turd. The whole thing should be repealed. Period. Along with the ridiculous Lautenberg Amendment (A.K.A. The Slow Destruction of Second Amendment and Military Service Rights Amendment).

The VAWA is a deliberate action to give women overwhelming and unchecked power against men. It exploits the emnity and acrimony which often accompanies divorce proceedings. It acts to "egg women on" to make false allegations of abuse or wife-beating. There is no insistence on proof or evidence. The very name is prejudicial because not all domestic violence is initiated by men. Perhaps as much as 1/3 to 1/2 the violence in domestic relationships is initiated BY WOMEN.
