Lovely visuals. I agree, parts of Cuba were simply marvelous and stunningly beautiful. Life for some was exciting and glamorous. However, what was all that wealth and elegance based upon? There was a reason for the Revolution. It did not sprout out of nothingness. There is a huge segment of the population missing from your montage. They would be the ones who were left behind to endure these past 50 years, most through no fault or choice of their own. Gracias su historia es importante.

I am deeply sad I never got to live in this majestic,luminous,and beautiful Cuba. The country of my birth. I was born in a beautiful countryside full of green and Royal Palms and sugarcane and tobacco. I miss the smell of my town . I miss eating a tree ripened mango that has fallen on the reddest earth in the world. Henry, precioso video. No pudiste tener mejor gusto con la música, romántica, nostálgica y llena de melancolía. Cuba era tan hermosa. La París del Caribe. Todavía por suerte siguiendo ciertas rutas en la Habana pueden descubrirse rincones de extrema belleza. Sin duda el estilo que más me gusta es el Modenismo y después el art Deco, de los cuales hay muchisimos ejemplos. Palacetes similares al de tu familia , es muy recomendable el palacio de la Condesa de Revilla-Carmargo. un abrazo

Hola Enrique, lo primero que quiero hacer es felicitarte por este precioso video. Es realmente penoso ver cómo Cuba ha retrocedido tanto a lo largo de las cinco últimas décadas pasando de ser un país próspero a ser un país en ruinas. Yo estuve allí hace cinco años y pude comprobar de cerca el lamentable estado de la mayoría de los edificios de la Habana. Todavía conservaban su encanto del pasado pero muchos estaban a punto de venirse abajo. Muy triste.

I visited Havana about 4 years ago for the first and only time. It was beautiful but what made it so was the people. Yes the crumbling buildings had a charm but it left me very sad to imagine how lovely it must have been. I won't  comment on the politics but I enjoyed this video.

Fantastic video. You are blessed to have such a beautiful heritage. Havana was indeed an amazing city. I had the privelage of visiting the island recently. The remnants of what Havana was still exist. At night, when you look at it from La Cabana, you can almost imagine what it looked like as it sits shrouded in a haze of darkness. I'll never forget it.
