  • q genia por dios :D

  • was this when she was fourteen or sixteen :D

    jk.!

  • Tribute to He Kexin - 2008

New video on youtube, check it out

  • He Kexin beat Liukin in the EF and takes the UB gold medal at Beijing2008. She really deserved the gold medal. Her talent must have overcome that stupid underage rule in Olympic even if she is less than 16yo. What a magnificent moment for a junior gymnast to beat a senior gymnast in the Olympic!

  • chonglansag, why don't you say something more intelligent like "what a magnificent moment for china to win bars in the olympics" or "what a magnificent moment for he kexin to win in the olympics." Even if she were underage, she is still a senior gymnast and has competed in many international events as a senior

  • how good a gymnast you are hasn't got much to do with age, when you're at that level.

  • @chonglansang Sometimes the end oesn't justify the means. If China did cheat, they disgraced themselves, which saddens me because China sees to want baseit's reputation on honor, not disrespect. As for He winning, yes it was a fabulous routine, but YYY won that night. Besides, if we're going to tout Jr gymnats for beating seniors: Nastia was possibly the best bar worker in the world in 2004 but was too young to compete.

  • @chonglansang Yeah but at least Nastia is a great all-around gymnast, while He Kexin sucks on everything except bars. How many Olympic medals did He Kexin come home with? Not as many as Nastia! As for the age rule, age and talent have nothing to do with each other. I don't agree with the 16 and over rule, but I don't think that CHEATING is the way to change things, either.

  • He Kexin has been proved 16 with documents. This controversy needs to stop, thanks.

    Anyway, this is absolutely perfect!

  • man the US just cant take it if someone out does them. Look at them they're so jealous!!!

  • he kexin did not out do anyone. THEY TIED

  • No they did not. Check the individual scores. Overall He's scores were higher but one judge marked her down. That brought down her average. When they used the tie breaking system to decide the winner and dropped the lowest scores, her average was several points ahead of Luikin. Even though it was by less than one point, in Gymnastics, one, one hundreths of a point can decide the difference between a medal or fourth position.

  • tell me how smart this is

"her average was several points ahead of liukin...even though it was by less than one point"

you are saying he kexin received all high scores and only one judge low-balled her which caused her to tie liukin, which is bull

a couple judges marked liukin higher, i think a couple tied them

the ones that scored he kexin higher, did so by no more than .1

  • Just by the fact that you said 'I think' makes me realize that I have to discard everything that you wrote. Alexgym09, I find it remarkable that you have the word Gym in your name when it is clear that your brain needs some serious working out. Clearly you need to retake that 'Hooked on Phonics' course that you failed three times. One more thing, if a couple judges marked Liukin higher, then why did she not get the Gold considering that they both have the same degree of difficulty?

  • that's because a 'couple judges' don't decide the score. it's the average of FOUR judges.

    the scores were

    he kexin: 9.1 9.1 8.9 8.9

    nastia: 9.0 9.0 9.0 9.1

as you can see, some judges marked nastia higher, some marked he kexin higher, some made them tie.

You cannot discard what I wrote. I did not write opinions. I wrote facts and numbers.

I wrote 'I think' because at that time I was writing from memory and was too lazy to check the exact numbers

  • correction:

    he kexin: 9.1 9.1 9.0 8.9

  • an australian judge took off an entire point for liukin. which i think is bull.

  • Have you seen nastia's dismount atleast .3 for the cowboy and .1 for the step. A low handstand for .3 off. that's already 7 in just two skills... I think yang yillin should've won based on the performaces each did that day

  • and he kexin is amazing , i love her .

  • impresionante

  • O.o

    Mto boa!

  • Her first release combo is wicked.

  • I'm not going to predict that Xe will win gold at the Olympics. Gymnastics is too finicky to predict in advance whose going to win (and the Chinese women are notorious for collapsing under pressure). All I know though is this routine, if performed this well, DESERVES to win the gold medal. No other routine combines the same level of difficulty with technical perfection (or near perfection) as He Kexin. Absolutely brilliant.

  • atually nastia is up there in diffuculty and execution so

  • SMIfromBelarus must be destroyed.

  • I agree. Damn, he is annoying. haha

  • I like how the new code has changed bars.

  • me 2. now theres more variety. gone r the days of 20 second bars routines, lol. although next yr they're gona chang it 2 the 8 hardest elements for a score, but as long as they keep the diff. and exec. seperated it'll be fine

  • I am talking to smiFromBelarus...

  • smiFromBelarus get your facts first before you tell something because during last years chinese nationals she was already 15. and she will not be chosen in the 12 gymnasts where they will choose the gymnasts who will go to the last years worlds if she's underage for last years worlds.

and by the way look at her FIG profile.

in the FIG report she was even stated as 16 years old.

  • MY GOD!!! I had never watched anything like that before!!! She will be unstoppable! Nastia should concentrate better on BB and the UB. I don't think she has a chance of getting gold.

  • what's really scary is her score could be above 17 easily! her jaeger had a leg seperation and she missed that last handstand into her dismount, right there is her 17!

  • I actually thought her Prelims routine was better. The 1.5 into the dismount was vertical and her Toe Shoot was caught much better with much better counterrotation. But something tells me the judges have a psychological barrier with the 17.0 and if they break it it will be at the Olympics when they won't have a choice. IMHO the order will have a HUGE effect on the score but it is going to be one he!! of a final if Beth, Ksenya, Nastia and He all make it.

  • A=7.7 and final=16.850. Now that's a record score!!

  • Record score from one of the youngest gymnast competing in a code for elites, she is only 14!

  • Don't be such a loser! Give me some proof or shut up.

  • He isn't being such a sore loser. He's really telling the truth. They've changed her birthdate a couple of time. Last year it was 1994 and now it is 1992 supposidely.

  • Well, common sense tells me it's almost impossible for chinese to pull it off if they want to cheat. The competition to enter the Olympic team is so intense among the chinese gymnast ('cause there are so many talents to choose from), I don't think anyone to be replaced by He Kexin, if He is in fact ilegible, would keep her silence. It is just impossible.

  • As far as the age changes, I just googled He's Chinese name using Google China. I still can see the reports showing her age of being from 13 to 16. But you know how screwed up the information on the Internet could be. You will need more solid evidence, other than the information from the Internet, to make such accusation. Plus, if Chinese really want to cheat, why they still keep those reports showing her being 13 or 14. It doesn't make sense to me.

  • I understand what you are saying. But they have varied her birthdate. It's like the kim gwang suk birthdate thing, nobody really knows her real birthdate.

  • Are you saying she is not eligible for the Olympic Games? What a bummer!!! How unfair!

  • She is "eligable" she has a fake birth certificate, but even in 2007 when the Chinese Nationals took place she competed as a junior at the tender age of 13.

  • Wow!!! I thought those stories were left in the 90's with the PRK's infamous incident. The world never got a chance of watching Kim Gwang Suk again. I hope He Kexin will not live the same story...

  • The coaches should know better. If they know their gymnast isn't age eligible, they should not prepare them for the Olympics and let them be so heartbroken when they do go and have to face the aftermath that would follow. If she is indeed not age eligible then she should be shooting for 2012 so as not to be so disappointed with 2008. They should not put those ideas in their head to begin with and then maybe they wouldn't get so burnt out and frustrated with the sport.

  • i just checked the official chinese website and it has yang yilin's birthdate listed as 1993. ask me for the link if you want it

i looked up kexin, sui lu, deng linlin, but they are not even listed there as part of the national team!

  • how convenient...

  • The Chinese players can show solid evidence to approve their age eligibility. If you don't trust us, go ask your US government to do some research, just like the research done by the CIA on nuclear weapon in Iraq. We Chinese and people all over the world all trust the CIA and American media. We can't wait to see you to clarify these rumors.

Appreciate your endeavor bashing China. And, good luck to your artistic and froggy Nastia in Beijing.

  • what does this have to do with nastia first of all??

as of now i have come across 4 articles that say kexin is not age eligible and three of them are from chinese news and published in chinese.

the US doesn't need to do research to expose this. china is exposing themselves

i will be freakin happy if yang yilin, nastia, or beth won in beijing because as much as i love this routine i cannot make myself support cheaters

  • the age rule is a stupidity. the US could cheat and bring in an underage bar worker (sam shapiro comes to mind) that would greatly benefit us, yet we don't and now we have a major gap there

meanwhile for some reason china has special status that they are allowed to?

  • He Kexin just got caught for being underage!

  • yang yilin's birth date is 1992 august 26 , go check it yourself before you say anything .

  • thank you. that is the birth date listed on her passport. you don't know what her real birth date is

  • So Nayanartsha, I take it that I should assume that the information on your passport is inaccurate as well? Well, thank you for that bit of knowledge.

  • can u prove this please

  • This is a report provided from someone who attended the meet.

"NB: Apparently, He Kexin will replace Sui Lu in the final. I'm not sure why. At any rate, she does Li Ya's Jaeger-half-Jaeger combo. She's quite a hot property--too young for Beijing but should be age-eligible for the 2009 Worlds."

Many peopel noted that at 07 Nationals she was ineligable for 08 Olympics. For what its worth at least half of the chinese team will be under 15 by august.

  • And you call that a proof?

  • The fact she competed as a 13 year old and was ineligable for the Olympics a year ago seems like prrof to me. THe fact that many attended the meet and indeed she competed as a junior qualifies as truth.

  • So you were there at the meeting and checked He's age?

  • No but many where. Look for videos of Chinese Nationals last year where she competed, ask the guy who took them. I did not have to be there to know that she competed as a 13 year old and thus was ineligable for Beijing.

  • well if she really isnt age elligible and the ioc & fig find out its gonna be like gwang suk kim (pkr) all over again. they'll ban china from the next 2 worlds and might even strip her of any medals if she wins any in beijing.

  • Lets hope so. its 2008 cheating should not be tolerated.

  • yea i mean its really selfish for them to do that and nothing is gained. @ first i hated the new age limit but now u can really see the diff. btw little girls and young women. yes they have to wait longer to compete but u kno if they really love the sport long enough to stay in it and not just go in 1 yr. and then just burn out, where u never hear of them again.

  • There was a reason why they changed the age rule. Something to do with injuries, being burnt out and other stuffs. Funny tho, I never hear this kinds of argument in other sports. Like in Figure Skating, there's a rule of age eligibility as well. I have never seen any Chinese that small skating. Michelle Kwan was that small when she bursted onto the scene and was even in the cards to go to last two or three Olympics ago except she was too young to compete by the rule.

  • WOW! Just wow!

  • Oh my!!! Incredible.
