  • shit.. all those years wasted

  • Lifting helps your posture, which might "increase your height"

  • Damn man you fucking scared me at start man!

  • running causes more impact pressure than lifting ever will...

  • Jimmy Struthers told me it does, he's always right.

  • Definately doesn't stunt growth.

    I went from 5'2" at 14 to 5'11-6'0 at 16. Still growing at 16 :)

  • I'm jealous of all you guys who grew so much, I'm 16 turning 17, started occasionally lifting weights at maybe 11 or 12 and I'm only 5'6" now, and I feel like I'm done growing. Last time I grew even a bit was when I was 14. I've always been short.

  • @ctoe95 dude im about that height too just might be growth genes that's all

  • @genoperry Damn, it sucks. My mom is 5'3" my dad is 5'9" and I'm stuck at 5'6". I don't like always having to look up to my dad (in the physical sense). I eventually wanted to be his height or taller :( Oh well, I guess...

  • @ctoe95 ;dud you still have time to grow till your at least 21 man so your body still have a lot of growing dude

  • I grew from 5'0 at the age of 15 to 5'10 at the age of 18. Hell yea

  • yes it may not effect some people but i feel like it can effect others easily. i know a few people who feel they stunted their growth abit because they were weight lifting in grade 9

  • @norcofoxrider i think its a case of, "they would'nt have grown to they're "desired height" even if they hadnt lifted weights".

  • yea but i think if u still growing you reall shouldnt squat so heavy or anything that presses the spine.

  • @Drewandy22 Heavy squatting and/or heavy deadlifting might be the only two lifts that "might stunt growth". Definately not heavy benching.

  • @bobbyd7085 "presses the spine" i never said anything about benching but ur right

  • Started lifting casually at 13 years old 5'5 and now I'm 6'4 at 17.

  • "Yall see all these fkn midgets running around here" LMFAO

  • YOU SCARED ME AT THE START I THOUGHT IT WAS TRUE !!!

  • @SINGHPUNJAB11 haha same but its true weight lifting can actaully make you grow taller!

  • how it effects the bone **

  • Heavy strength training as apposed to hypertrophy at a young age can stunt the growth, study the anatomy of bones and the growth plates as along with Wolf's law and how adding stress effects the muscle...

  • Lifting weights isnt the problem when your young, it's lifting heavy is what the problem is.

  • I AM 5'10. NORMAL HEIGHT. FUCK ALL YOU BITCHES OVER 6 FOOT!

  • What the hell kinda question is this? wow, I cant beleive men ask this! Thank God Im a female..height is not a feminine trait, actually most women in the world are below 5'7"! models arent known for their beauty! they look like 7 foot tall flat ass teenage boys. Go look up marilyn monroe, vida guerra, kim kardashain, shakira, jessica simpson, mulher melao, mayra veronica, coco austin, etc! all these women are not tall!! actually, shorter women have more estrogen which explains their curves!

  • what about those training that have to lift the whole bar up completely thumbs up to let them see

  • Mental growth, obviously.

  • im 6'4 and 18 years old and used to work out my shoulders heavily because i was an insecure bitch back in 8th grade at the height of 5'5. Sure it didnt stunt my vertical growth but did it stunt my horizontal growth? (widening of the shoulder and chest) or should i just be patient with my akward growth spurts for 1 more year? shit i know this a lot of questions but i need some help.

  • @ninjayeahvideos you got bigger shoulders and got narrower? what?

  • @sk8r9871 naah im sayin that i worked out my shoudlers when i was young, then i grew fast but my shoulders look disproportionately small for my height, i dunno if i stunted my bone growth in my shoudlers or whut, basically i look like im going through puberty >.>

  • @ninjayeahvideos try to work out your back as well, it makes you look wider. also, if you're skinny, eating and gaining some fat will make you look wider, but dont get TOO fat

  • @sk8r9871 nah man see this is the situation, i feel as even though i eat alot my shoulders will not grow due to the excessive strain i put in my shlders when i was young, sure they will grow muscular and shit, but im talking about the bone structure. I look like an akward mofo even though im tall enough to dunk, i eat my vegetables and all that nonsence but im just hoping my skeletion will broaden up when im 20 or something. I say to all you teenagers just do body weight excesises like push ups

  • @ninjayeahvideos if you really do think that you have a narrow frame, then try to make the best out of it by building up. im narrow too.

  • @sk8r9871 yeah, your right i know, i just feel like shit looking at these geneticaly jacked up mofos talking about this subject. If your really want to get a picture of what i look like search nba baller kevin durant. But yeah man im just doing squats right now (addicting as hell).

  • @ninjayeahvideos cool, plus black guys have good genetics as is.

  • it's funny they bring up Charles Barkley, considering they both sound exactly like him

  • lifting weights especially tells the body to release more hgh and heavy squats is a great way to increase testosterone.

  • weightlifting does not stunt growth gymnastics does. you see those lil 4'6-5'0 girls from the olympics. landing on your feet real hard stunts growth. weightlifting encourages growth. look atl the nfl.. most of those buys been in football since middle school, squatting bench pressing and power clean being the main lifts. and look at them now they all stand at 6'0 and up. there is no 5 foot tall motherfuckers on the field they would get killed.

  • The main argument to this is that some exercises can cause damage to the growth plates. There are many workouts that can be done that don't focus on the bad lifts. But there are some that can put strain and even damage the growth plates in the body. just be careful and do your research.

  • i heard if u do over head lifts while standing it stunts growth in ur legs, but thats the only one, weight lifting on the bench etc and all other types doesn't. i saw one dude who had a massive long body, full sized man, but had some tiny legs! like he'd be sitting down and look normal, n then stand up n it's like he still sittin down! n he said it's coz he did lotsa over head lifts as a kid while standing, his brothers had same body length, but also had normal legs. not tiny ones like him

  • if anything it might actually increase your growth,, because it stimulates extra growth hormone in your body

  • If anything it would make you slightly taller because the muscle growth isn't all horizontal, a bit is vertical.

  • i am 72 inches and is fucking short man if i start heavy lift for me legs i will become even shorter ...

  • @MrAppleandorange123 im only 17 dude and I might still be growing shit idk. I mean I grew 4 extra inches from 15-17 but different people grow different times

  • @DatBoiWaVy Definitely not true i've used creatine since i was 17 as long as you cycle it you'll be perfectly fine. i'm 22 now so you're saying i should start taking supplements now? Pfft.. everyone who plays H.S football in Texas uses some form of Protein or Creatine. Big Schools probably even NO2..

  • @MrAppleandorange123 I did a shit ton of squats, shit thats all I could do when I was a freshman because all the upperclassmen hogged all the benches.. But the last physical I got marked me as 76 inches and 231.6 lbs so I guess you can do the math on that if you dont believe me. Shit I dont even care if you dont believe me dude, why would I lie about any of that stuff like how would it benefit me by posting some random bs on youtube. I was just sharing my experience so people dont worry about it

  • lol, funny midget joke

  • I heard sqautting stunts ur growt...is that true.?

  • @TheSituation510 No.. I squatted all through high school as a freshman till now even... I barely hit 6'1 last year i'm hoping to reach 6'2 eventually and i'm turning 22.

  • Anatomically speaking, weight resistant exercise actually induces what is called appositional bone growth. What this is is an increase in the diameter, not length, of your bones. That is why weight lifting is highly recommended for women to get into before they reach menopause. If they increase the bone width, by the time they reach osteoporosis, which is a bone eating disease, they have more bone mass to lose and still be ok.

  • Can it help u get taller?

  • Can it help u grow taller?

  • thanks for answerin my question ;)

  • I started lifting when I was 11 when I was 5'2. Now I'm 17 and 6'4 and the tallest in my family, AND the only lifter in my family

  • @dacookiemobster with creatine??

  • @royale847 nahh man I didn't take creatine until this year

  • @royale847 no as long as you stay dehydrated my little brother takes it and so do i and im 18 and hes 14 and he still grows at a good rate but you have too eat healthy with it

  • @dacookiemobster genetics -_-

  • @dacookiemobster so lifting makes you grow more taller?..like with the release of hormones that arent tapped into for a average teen..so i am lifting and im 18...could this happen to me?..coz i realy want to be in the 6'6 or 7 range at least

  • crap - so i'm a midget because of my genes!

  • i can honestly say i have learned alot from wacthing your guy's videos........BITCH TITS !

  • kevin your funny dude!!!

  • I"ve been working out with weights since 14 I've had no height problems

  • doing squats at a young age will stunt growth
