Look how beautiful and then think about how many of these people died in bombing raids, got sent to concentration camps, were shot for being spies or lived through the worst bombardment known in history - the bombing of Berlin? These people were at the height of happiness just to be at their lowest a couple years later. It's amazing this film survived for us to see it.

Diese Musikfilme wurden als Kriegsbeute der russischen Armee auch in der Sowjetunion aufgeführt und kamen dort sehr gut an. Sie hatten zwar kein Hollywoodniveau, waren aber im Vergleich zu sowjetischen Musicals mit singenden Traktoristinnen sicherlich eine tolle Abwechslung.

This footage is remarkable, and I suppose true to the era where, almost every lady on the set appears to be a blonde, including the musicians, unless they are just smiling stage props. ' Love the blonde on the piano and her toothy smile ! Marika is a fabulous entertainer, with a fabulous pair of legs.This is a very interesting clip; very good quality. It would be great to see it in colour. Thanks for the post; much enjoyed..

marika was stepping like an elephant-baby....but the music and the decoration was very glamouros. my mother saw this films in world war two, as ateenage girl. between the airraids by day and by night, full of death arround them, it was like stepping out to dreamland. shure ginger and fred are the better dancers. but after 42 the nazis don t show american movies, so for them it was top.

The UFA had its own stars like hollywood such had. Germany wanted to be competing with America. Although Germany arriving or tended to arrive at the ankle of the United States musically. Germany had its own musical style, rhythm of a different kind. She worked in the romantic style, a mixture finely researched and that is who was and still charm.
