xD nothing changed! lol i went yesterday and we took picks by sticking the camera under the certin and we were caught by a mermaid! lol she was smiling and looking right at us, right in front of us! lol

Sound carries quite well underwater, and we are assured by the announcer that the mermaids can hear the music and our applause.

Of course the mermaids are lip-synching to prerecorded tracks, obviously they cannot sing underwater (though they often use the air-nozzles are prop microphones).

As an update to everyone...there has recently been a vote to completely dissolve weeki wachee. which means now is your best time to to go. They do not know how much longer it will be open for. I encourage you all to go before it closes!

Any negative feedback on the mermaid show is bull! It's amazing. Those girls do a great job and are extremely talented. I'm a scuba diver and have to wear cumbersome gear to move around. They have one fin and one breath of air and move with grace! And the music is entertaining!! Great job girls.

I dont know her...i've heard of her but I dont know her. I just started working there. I've only been there for a year now. But I have heard of her before. I know some of the other former mermaids that swam with her. Thats why i've heard of her.

Nice! Hey, don't take this the wrong way. I always thought when I was a kid watching your show that the airhose you use for breathing were hookahs for mermaids. I hope that made you laugh. It would be a first time making a mermaid laugh. LOL!

The former mermaids seem to have enjoyed it -- they were still showing up and swimming for reunion shows (some of them were in their 70s!). The park used to do a "Mermaid Camp" for kids too. Don't know what will happen now (since Nov 2008) that they are a Florida State Park rather than a private attraction.

there is a pipe thats hiden by the rocks and theres about 12 little tubes that blow air out of them so they can breath and is really fun my cousin used to work there until she broke her leg in some stupid accident they let her keep the tail tee hee its a really pretty green

believe me. it is. I work there as a mermaid. we have an air hose we breathe through. We only have to hold our breath in 45sec. intervals.

It is a pretty fun job. I absolutely love it. Sometimes it can get annoying thoough because its the same thing over and over again but for the most part its a lot of fun.

hey this is not gay u try staying under there for half an hour its not as easy as it looks they have to keep an eye out if they r still levle with every1 eles so it doesnt look out of line and remeber there lines and its all underwater so dont say sumthing nasty wen u dont no wot its like !!

@xxcrazylukexx your right. its not as easy as people think. we have to know how much air to hold in and how much to let out so we stay in line with each other. you really have to know the other girls you perform with each time you go because each show you have to change yourself accordingly.
